Knitted clown figures I’ve been working on lately

I’ve been spending some time recently experimenting with knitted clown figures as part of my crafting practice.

What I find most interesting is that each figure seems to develop its own presence. Some feel playful, some slightly strange, and some more quiet or expressive in ways I didn’t fully plan.

It’s still an ongoing experiment, but I’m really enjoying the process of turning simple yarn into something with character.

I’d love to hear what you think or how you approach more experimental crafting like this.

Where do you guys source materials for cheap? Are there places to buy scrap/"junk" supplies?

Hi! Kind of just what the title says? But I'd specifically really like to buy people's scraps and "junk" (fabric, ribbon/lace, yarn, jewelry making supplies, old clothes for upcycling, etc.), and I'm not sure the best way to go about finding those things? I've seen some listings on Etsy for fabric/ribbon scraps, and I've bought a few jewelry "junk" bags or scoops of beads from Etsy and Ebay. Are there any other places to find these things, or is that pretty much where it'll all be?

Starbucks Cup Doodles

I wanted to save the super cute doodles I get on my cups, however, I’m not sure how I can repurpose them.

I had the idea to make shrinky dinks, but idk if that type of plastic will work correctly or I’ll ruin the doodle.

Ideas? 💭

Small crochet business potential?

I’ve done a somewhat “soft launch” of some my crocheted handbags just for fun one night (i.e. just thought I’d run a few ideas through chat and created an instagram page). I’ve had about 10~12 orders over a span of a week and a half. Could these clutch handbags have potential for me to really invest in starting a small business?

I’ve been giving inquirers options of gold or silver along with preferred length of chain (photo examples 2 & 3).

Please be nice. 🥲

Best way to glue toy guns together?

Me and my friends are recreating the matrix and I’m in charge of making the Lightning Rifle which is the big gun they use on the Nebuchadnezzar. I have these toy guns/ other random plastic bits that I’m gonna saw apart and glue together before painting but I wanna make sure it’s strong enough to not get broken even after filming and running around with it. Would hot glue keep them together or would it be better to use an epoxy or super glue? I’m not well versed in using epoxy and I know some glues/ resins heat up and I don’t want to damage the plastic.
