What are some good ideas to furnish my tank?

I’ve had my electric blue cray for about a year but the tank doesn’t have a whole lot in it. Right now it is empty as I have been cleaning it but it just has a piece of wood and a rock for some shelter/decoration as well as a AC30 and sponge filter. Does anyone have any good plant recommendations? My cray has eaten every plant I put in it. As for fish I have had some Golden White Cloud Minnows as the tank isn’t heated.
Picture #2 was what I had done just before getting the cray. It ended up tearing up and eating every plant.

My crayfish is dying and I am devastated.

My beautiful, sweet yet spicy boy is in the process of dying and it is so heartbreaking. Please wish him an easy and quick passing. This is an older picture of him. He has been my favorite pet for a while now. I have never spent so much money on a free pet in my life, but he is/was so worth it and the only regret is not having him in my life longer. There is nothing we more we can do for him and he will be euthanized if he doesn't pass quickly. He has been really sick for about a week now and losing the fight. We have tried everything and spent a ton trying to save him. I was really hoping he would survive. I don't need advice and just needed to get out my sorrow to a community that would understand.

Dwarf Crayfish Molting Problem

I'm having a problem with my dwarf crayfish and don't know what to do. My crayfish has been molting for over 24 hours. The molting seems to just be stuck around his feet. He still moves here and there under his cover. When I move the cover to check, he continues to move but he's been on his back. I haven't touched him or anything but I was wondering when I should intervene to help him. Please help. Any advice would be great and i can send more photos if needed. Thank you!

PSA if you have crayfish with other fish.

I’ve had a Dalmatian Molly and guppies live in the same tank as my son’s crayfish for about two months now…

His teacher allowed him to have one at the end of the school year.

We had a barrel with many openings for the crayfish to hide but my wife wanted to try something larger as it molted recently.

Well this corner cave structure with a top entry was a death trap for my Molly and one of my guppies.

She installed it last night and I just came home to find one guppy missing and my Dalmatian Molly laying lifelessly with the bottom half of its body eaten in the lair.

I removed the structure immediately and started to look for Crayfish recipes in a blinded and hungry rage.

I’ve calmed down now and won’t be eating it, but I thought I’d share my experience.

My amazing girl has a terrifying problem

Edit: she does not in fact have a problem she just scared the shit out of me, thank you redditors for saving the day

She's so outgoing, loves to eat, loves to explore, loves to come see me even when she's full. She is invasive in my area and walked up to me, a full sized wild crayfish, and walked into a box for me to carry home. Three weeks later she's the same cray, posed beautifully for her medical reference photos this afternoon in her Medical soup of aqueon shrimp minerals, API quick start, and a dash of API anti-ammonia.

First photo is day 1 in the wild. Second and third are midway through her tank experience so far (20 gal long, 40gal hob filter that aerates through a plastic reptile hammock near the top of the tank, two big hiding spots, aquarium sand on one side and on the other large aquarium gravel topped with small aquarium rocks). At first we struggled with some ammonia but I've gotten that balanced, the PH is close to neutral and the nitrites are normal. The nitrates are a bit high.

Can anyone please, please tell me why she has a hole in her head. Is it shell rot, and what can I do to make her comfortable. What kind and how much aquarium salt would make a good salt bath if it's a bacterial thing? It seems like she carried this problem with her but it became more evident in the last week.

She's obviously quite old and lived outside for probably her whole life, so even though she's taken to tank life like a duck to water I don't know that she can pull off another molt. I'd love it if she could with my help.

This is actually the coolest thing I’ve seen my little guy do

Got this little dude about two weeks ago and he has decided to make this little nook under a rock his house and for the last two days it has turned into a pretty big tunnel that his is still digging out and for some reason he has decided to keep some rubber bands as “possessions” he does not eat them but will get defensive if I try to take them and will go deroot plants to find another if I do take them anybody else ever had that happen

Pinchy had babies…

Y’all….earlier this year my youngest daughter begged for a crayfish and I happened upon a great deal for a 10 gallon setup, so we added sand, some caves/plants, and did a cycle. Our LFS happened to have this beautiful lady in a tank with no caves so my little girl had to pick her. We’ve had her in the tank since April 30th, with a full molt two or three days later, so I wasn’t thinking the eggs she produced after that would be viable…aaannnddd boy was I wrong! Emergency 5 gallon is cycling now to try and protect the littles, but PSA!!!! Apparently they can still produce viable eggs while being alone (aside from a couple guppies and a mystery snail) after a molt

Question on something

Setup a crayfish tank to potentially help with some excess neos I have and just wanted a fun new bud. Was gonna wait but happened into a chain pet store and saw one and impulse purchased to maybe give a decent life to a friend. What's the lil white bulb near the end of the tail?

What species is Earl?

Is Earl a marbled crayfish? I noticed that he has some marbling on his body.

For those that breed dwarf crayfish. How do you handle culling?

Hello I recently started a Cambarellus Diminutus breeding project to really get a blue color out of them and want to offload some extra males. However none of my local fish shops or anybody on AquaSwap seems interested. I don’t want to kill them but have no idea what to do.

White little one

Petco says this is a VANILLA LOBSTER. Is this a normal but white crayfish, or one of the dwarf crayfish? How big will it get?

It just ate my last ghost shrimp and is chasing fish now
