Expert mode Crazy Taxi 2
I'm not an expert, that's just what the mode is called. There is virtually zero footage of this mode, so I thought I'd upload some. Y+start+A on character select screen. This was recorded with real dreamcast hardware.

Honestly, while I don't think it's something that will be visible in the long run, it would be a great benefit for everyone. I always see Crazy Taxi 2 as the middle child, often forgotten by its younger and older siblings (Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 3)
But it also deserves some importance for being the game in the saga where the new features that were later polished to our delight in the third game began to be included. And the fact that it's stuck on the Dreamcast doesn't help much. (While the PC ports of the first and third game aren't the best, they can be improved with modding)
I know that nowadays Dreamcast is easy to emulate and all, but still, I'll leave that up to your judgment.
(Aside from the dream of having the entire trilogy natively available on PC)
It is about the AI in the game. I'm mostly dissapointed by the fans here. If it were one of the main Sega Franchises, they would backtrack the whole ai thing. And maybe that's why they decided to air it out. A percentage of the new gen people (Sonic, persona fans etc) are against AI while a percentage of older sega game fans are the same people who ignore or don't know and won't do the research to learn the impacts of AI, because it "makes things faster and easier". I understand that a franchise that has been left to collect dust, finally gets recognition, but it feels incredibly insulting coming from Sega, known for being creative from all aspects. For those who will mention how broad the Steam AI policy is, one google search will tell you it has been renewed and AI will be disclosed when it ships with the game, aka the final product. Am I a diehard Crazy taxi fan, no. Do I want other games that are rumoured to be remade/rereleased, be affected by this fallacy because people don't care or throw the "It's everywhere, there's nothing we can do, change is inevitable." excuse, also no. At this point, might as well play the ogs. I'm tired boss.
(I've seen people that share my opinion, but i'm mostly talking about those who don't. Sorry about any accidental generalizations, english is not my first language)
This game shouldn't have been made modernized as in modern cars.
Why has Axel lost the cook surfer vibe to his outfit and the beach bro skater vibe to now be wearing skinny jeans and a white shirt. What's the big deal with hiding his chest?
Why does he sound like a 13 year old? It sounds like sonic.
What's with the outfits for the main characters anyways? They've lost their vibe. They look like they're in children's clothes.
No thanks, I'll pick crazy taxi 3 on newer consoles with a remaster over this!
Hey, I’ve been working on a fare randomizer mod for the PC version of Crazy Taxi 3 and recently put out a beta. Check out the number readout at the beginning of the runs in the video: that's the randomized seed getting re-rolled.
It has two main modes: one shuffles customers between the original pickup spots, while the other moves pickups to randomized locations. Destination shuffling can be enabled separately with either mode. Every combination has 99M+ seeds per map
Every 'Retry' can generate a new layout, or you pick a fixed seed to replay and and compete with friends. All three maps are supported in Arcade and Time modes, along with their Another Day versions in Arcade mode. Crazy X is unchanged.
It requires an ASI loader, and TaxiPatch is heavily recommended.
You can get it at either of these places:
GameBanana: https://gamebanana.com/mods/704977
ModDB: https://www.moddb.com/games/crazy-taxi-3/downloads/crazy-taxi-3-randomizer
If anyone gives it a try, I’d be interested to hear how the placements and routes feel to them! It's difficulty level is intended for intermediate to advanced players.
Yeah I always heard about Crazy taxi but I never got to play it until i stopped by this arcade on the way home from the weird al concert I went to (which was amazing by the way) and i absolutely love it, like damn this game fills ya with so much damn adrenaline like I just wanted to go a million miles an hour. Like damn this is fun. I definitely weren't that good at it whitch makes ence for a first time but I feel i was getting better and this feels Like an arcade game I genuinely want to keep getting better at, lot of arcade game I feel try to find new ways to screw ya over if ya kepe getting better but this one feels like one I can keep getting better at and I gladly would cause this is FUN DUDE. Arcade controllers feels great and reaaly added on to how hectic it is, the blasting music makes it great and add so much personality. And the map real cool from what I got to play (like bro they got kfc in the game). Like when i got back home i started watching videos on the game and starte dleaning new stuff and tricks, like i didn't even know you could do a boost i never figured that out. But yeah I'm a new fan and now i'm really looking forward to world tour. Probably the best time i could havr become a fan.
The Crazy Bike is too good, that's why I put the record under a different name instead of my main (will be dedicated to the Vanilla Cars only).
Feels surreal hitting 55k though, I beat my 42k record.
Edit: Also got lucky midway with a dropped Green Passenger from a car. The amount of extra time they give is insane.
since Sega likes to add Guest Stars in their current games like Sonic Racing Crossworld, would Daniel Morales & Kazuma Kiryu would make a perfect addition as Guest Characters especially representing both France & Japan??
