This Is Displayed in the Airport in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy

Someone tried to smuggle this into Italy but the Italian Customs officials confiscated it. It's absolutely massive much larger than the skull of an approximately 4m *Crocodylus niloticus* I saw in South Africa a few years back.

Crocodile in the lake at my local park (Florida)

It was a bit wild having it here since there’s a kids' playground on the south end of the lake and a popular dog-walking path right along the water.

The lake connects directly to canals leading out to the Indian River. I took this video back in October (just discovered this sub, so sorry for the delayed post!). A few days after I filmed this, Florida Fish & Wildlife captured the croc and relocated it to a nearby sanctuary.

[Biology Question] Effect of extreme heat on Alligator/Crocodilians in general?

What are the biological effects of extremely high temperatures, such as a fire, on reptiles, preferably Alligators? What is the most pressing danger from the abnormal conditions? What might hinder the animal from escaping the heat source? TIA!
(Note: This is for a mostly scientific story on extinct animals, I am not planning to incinerate any reptiles in real life. Cheers.)

Just saw a video that intrigued and disturbed me

It was some remote backwater villiage and they opened one up and there is a human head. They pull it out and it is just a torso like a bag of flesh and they dump it in a sack.

And another one where a croc is casually smimming with a naked man in it's jaws.

I was terrified.

Does this tooth look real?

I got this from a crocodile park in far North Queensland. Unsure if it’s a real crocodile tooth?
Thanks

How big is this fella?

This YouTube video is about 7-8 years old and says Malaysia. Never mind the vertical filming. This croc has to be the biggest I’ve seen on video. I’m not sure I’d go out on that dock either.

Not my video but damn..

Hypothetically could you swim with gharials?

So by my best understanding you can actually swim in water that has fresh water crocodile, given they mainly hunt fish and smaller vertebrates and there smaller size they won't attack humans unless provoked.

Now the thing is gharials are even more fish specialised, they do get CONSIDERABLY bigger. However I feel as though if it was a well fed gharial, in clear water, no near a nest and with enough space you would be relatively fine. Obviously if you happened to startle one while swimming/tried to touch it or if you where close to its nest or hatchlings you might cop a bite.

But hypothetically in a best case scenario do you think you could swim with a gharial completely fine?
