The amazing digital circus plot twist similar to crosscode

Massive spoiler

>!Am I the only one thinking that the plot twist of amazing digital circus is similar to crosscode ngl? I feel that Lea reacting that she is an AI has more human emotions and feelings than the cast of tadc react. Similar plot twist but I feel that crosscode made plot theme, twist and arc significantly better than tadc. That's my hot take. !<

True Survivor achievement bugged?

Does anyone else know if their True Survivor achievement is bugged on Steam/PC? The achievement is for surviving 50 fights with <33% hp, but I did the screen transition strat about 70 times in a row, and still don't have anything. It doesn't seem like there's any way to track it in the stats either, unlike most of the other "Do # things" achievements. Does anyone know a way to get this one or if it's just broken?

How comon of an experience is it to break this wall before you get the Fire powers, thinking that the devs are assholes for making the puzzle too difficult while in reality you are a dumbass for complicating your own life?

Can one be too strong?

Is it possible to be too over-leveled in CrossCode? I've just started playing, and exploring, questing, and fighting are a ton of fun, but I'm worried that doing all of it will make me too strong for the upcoming quests.

The game is the tits.

Second full playthrough (like... 100%ing playthrough). It's just so damn good. The gathering of the First Scholars and explanation sequence is just SO rewarding. The relationships that have been built, the stakes... It's God-tier writing.

Just a gush post. Nothing more. I suppose that counts as low effort... But I just gotta gush to people who will understand and care. CrossCode is lightning in a bottle.

Just finished Chapter 7...

>!Hooooolllyyy shit. Like, I already spoiled myself on all the story stuff years ago (I am utterly ASS at not spoiling myself, so I mostly just give up and enjoy things as they happen). But even "knowing everything" did not prepare me for this

Shizuka, if you want to punch yourself so badly, you can just log off and do that. Stop making it everyone else's problem. Like, I GET what her deal is, but just... I do not know how to describe how much that pissed me off. I don't care if the fight'd be hopeless, let me try and punch her lights out!

Poor Lea. She's normally so expressive, so lively. Having her just go completely stonewalled like that... I still don't know if she was telling Sergey to leave her alone, or if she was getting pushed up to _that_ cliff edge...

The complete turnaround after the second micro dungeon was beautiful. The game is just peak humor in general for me, but the Noblewoman laugh sprite was peak. And then it just rolls right into heartwarming, finally seeing her _smile_ again.

The tower. Good Lord the tower. I remember back in the day thinking there should be a game where cheating IS the puzzle solution, and boy did they DELIVER. Seriously, all we were missing was a Scuttlebu-

Oh, we have the viruses. Holy shit, this really IS just a Mario 64 QPU jump. Someone get on that Mod, we even got the voice pack already in BestVA.

Anyway, this shit was ABSOLUTE CINEMA. I STILL don't get why there's a whole-ass Torment Nexus in this MMO (If I wanted to play LoL, I'd play LoL), but hey, we'll burn that bridge when we can cross it.!<

Finally bought the (non-pirated) Game for 4.99$!!!!!!!!

When I was smol I downloaded a pirated version of the game and quickly got addicted to it. Crosscode was my very first videogame and thanks it, I started to play other (only indie games) now.I've played the game for 3 years now and I'm just VERY happy that I can finally support the Devs by buying the game. I cant afford the DLC though. but I'm very very very very happy that I FINALLY got the REAL THING :)

At what point in the game is gear worth stopping for?

I just finished Maroon Valley (including all the cleanup) and I'm in Rookie Harbor doing wet works and similar quests.

I've played the game to roughly this point three times now, and I intend to finish the game over the next couple days.

But the game doesn't do a good job of communicating trading to you. I have no idea when I should stop. I've done every quest available to me I have stuff like the Weird Skates and the like. I'm level 35 with a Gear Score of 29.

I know there's a lot of endgame build potential, but endgame is not anywhere near the full game. So I was wondering when I should stop off and actually do some grinding or trading to improve my gear or at least commit to some kind of build.

Another question for those who might know:

Which passive circuits tend to be the best? I used to be mostly an aggressive player, focusing on passives that augment offense but as I've grown older I consider Defense a lot more. But the problem with Defense in a lot of games is it's unclear if the defensive abilities do anything to actually move the needle on damage mitigation. Like, if I spent zero on Defense and invested all into attack and just relied on my shield more vs actually spending on Defense.

HP Regen is obviously one of the best neutral circuits in the game, but what about an extra food slot?

There's just a lot contextual stuff the game needs for clarity that isn't there.

Like how does focus actually affect crit rate?

DLC Story

I just finished the game and learned there's a DLC, i don't intend on buying at the moment (it would be more expensive than what i paid for the game), is there a place where i can watch or read about what happens in the DLC, specialy the Story? Could be a site or a YouTube video for example.

I just got a steamdeck and so was perusing the steam store trying to figure out what games I'm going to get and saw that crosscode and a new home is on a steep sale. Crosscode alone is 4.99$ or you can get the bundle with crosscode, a new home, and ninja skin for 8.03$ what a steal!!!

First Time Playing CrossCode

In Short: I enjoy a lot I love every puzzle, chest boxes, lore, story, NPCs, Dialogue and developer are creative genius.

I have been playing this game for a week now(44 hours ingame). I have just met up with Satoshi Evotar and basically I think I am at the end now. So, I am just gonna dumped all my thought about this game right here.

THE DIALOGUE
I enjoyed every dialogue in this game whether by the Player or by the NPC of the crosscode. For e.g I love the player who always sits on the table and all his excuses to sits on the table. The guy who is afraid of height from the very start to finish. The guy who meditate/sits on unusual place(I still remember lea saying "Howww?" when he sits on rooftop). The energetic man who is always running. I have tried to interact with everyone in this game possible so, yeah, it was fun it really capture that they are "players who are playing videogames perfectly." A dude wants perfect immersion so 100% senstivitiy lol.I also learned a lot about this world from this interaction like how human has colonized another planet and fast connection/communciation was possible. There was big universal war in the past. Trading credit and cosmetics were banned and many more small detail that make sensible of this crosscode world. Tronny dialogue help a lot too. Yeah, the extra dialogue were so fun to read. The expression of Lea, emillie were so good I could undestand Lea just by expression.

THE WORLD-BUILDING
The developers are geniuses the world building is so good and massive I love it. The terrain the platforming, it's so creatively placed I love it. I spend much of my time exploring every nook and corner of the terrain finding way to reach the chest. The world is so detailed it feels so random but purposeful like real world terrain. It is just so satisfying to reach places. So, much love have been given to this world.

The Dungeon

It's feels like the actual dungeon a very big dungeon with lots of puzzle and enemies. Every room feels unique and after solving the room it's feels satisfying the battle feels smooth. It really checkmarks my imagination of a dungeon perfectly for a MMO RPG. I have solved every room by myself I feel good ngl.

The Lore
When I first played it I feel like it's like sword art online. But slowly as the story unfolded that feeling completely change. After Sergey told that Lea was in Coma and stuck in the video-game I felt like just an actual player in the MMO.RPG with all these player playing the game in real-time. But after Shizuka told Lea was AI it broke me. I have thought about what happens if AI becomes sentient. I got chill when I thought what if, AI has become sentient and consider itself as more like human(with feeling and all) but someone told they aren't human. That what I thought what Lea has felt. Evotar is pretty messed up concept. I love the pacing of the actual lore and the in-game lore too. The in-game lore is also good with all the gods it's feel like greek gods.

The Pacing
For, me it's ideal I didn't grind anything at all I just explore did every quest from every city and yeah, I was all set. Expect for the fact that I could not defeat Shizuka she is lvl 60 and I was only lvl 53 : (.

There are more think I like to share but I will leave it at it.

Some Question

 1. I still haven't figure out how the captain ship ignore the messy room of that girl.
 2. If the captain's rocket launcher is real why didn't it instant kill the Gautham god character instantly isn't it made of instant matter ?
 3. Does things happens differently like if I defeated Shizuka or if I had bring my party member to that sergey place ?

Cba finishing the game

Ppfffffft what a game.

Could have been a masterpiece if not for a few flaws. Not minor or major flaws but, actual fatal ones.

Crosscode starts of really well with good pacing and there is just so much to appreciate about it. Gear progression was satisfying, combat and puzzling. The story starts slow but it definetely has an intriguing vibe to it.

That is until I reached the second temple. The temple that set the stage for what game I was getting into. 90% of the dungeon was puzzling. Then I reach the third temple, wave, wich had a bit more combat encounters but were very short lived.. still like 75% puzzles. Shock.. 90% puzzles. Boss fights? Alot of them need ranged and/or puzzles to deal with effectively. Fighting a boss just purely melee felt rare to me. Wich I was not a fan of considering attack is a broad modifier and its cool investing in it.

Typically before I enter a big dungeon in games, I always like to prepare myself and get the best gear possible or atleast a sense of being up to date. Well.. the game does a poor job at that because you need to finish a temple halfway before getting the required mechanic to fully explore environments. It doesnt help that equipments very very rarely get dropped either. A mix of progression, pacing and loot system flaws here.

The combat. Probably the strongest aspect of the game yet heavily diminished due to the amount of puzzles in the game. It just feels impossible getting into combat for a good duration and get that good satisfying taste of what you invested in. There is always something that just has to stand in your way of unleashing all that damage you worked for. Be it enemies die too quick, a puzzle mechanic or getting swarmed by a group of pack that contain some floating enemies. For example im fighting the shock boss right and was really ready to unleash elemental melee combos on the boss.. until nope, you have to do a puzzle mechanic before breaking the boss and then deal the necessary dmg. The overworld combat eventually gets stale and just not worth doing. Diffuculty doesnt come from mechanics. Its mostly a puzzle that has to add the friction.

Story? Not worth it. Takes too long and just gets diminished by the amount of puzzles. Again.

This did not feel like an Action RPG to me, but really a Puzzle RPG one. Everything gets diminished by the quantity of them. To the point of losing the feel of quality. Such a damn shame because Crosscode has incredible fluid physics, combat and combat system.

Long post sorry but had to get that outta the way.
