I'm having an identity crisis in comp

I was at 11800 just cruzin along last week, already got all emblems, whatever, I'm not a top HC peek shooter but always good game sense and can clutch end of game plays when needed

But somewhere along the way this week, I started trying diff builds, diff guns diff classes... and I'm allll the way down below Ascendant 0 now at 9800

Should I just give up trying to have fun and start trying to actually be Hand Cannon Henry? What the f HC should I even try?

I'm on PC. Should I switch to console?

Ranged melee build

Hey!

One of my favorite things is to throw melees.
Think threaded spike and withering blade on Hunter and celestial fire and arcane needle on Warlock.

Is there any “easy” build where I can have kills with ranged melees and they regenerate rather fast?

Thank you

Why are Guardian Rank 3 and 4 players so prominent, especially in Competitive?

In most of my recent Crucible games across multiple modes including Competitive, I've seen nothing but low Guardian Rank people doing way better than they should, having popular weapons like Spare Rations, while also either having near 300 light, or over 500.

What has caused this trend, and why does it feel so suspicious when they're dominating Competitive? Something feels genuinely off, especially when GR 3 and 4 are easy to finish.

Randy’s Throwing Knife?

Been back at D2 since a little before the last update. I have a ton of RTK’s. Just about every roll possible. What is now and forever I guess consider the PvP god roll?

Help understanding some Bullet Perks.

Hi, another Question about why the Godrolls are like they are.

In most Godrolls I see Ricochet Rounds being the choice, I get that +11 Stability and +6 Range is great, and the possibility of a bullet Ricocheting is fun.

But there is also High-Caliber Rounds, that gives you +7 Range and gives +5/10% Flinch to your enemies.

And there is also Armor-Piercing Rounds, that gives +7 Range and the ability to OverPenetrate enemies once.

I get that maybe the Flinch isn't as good or even necessary, but wouldn't the ability to OverPenetrate enemies be a much better choice than a bit more Stability, taking into account that most of the time you are fighting against half the team being behind the same corner.

Are there any hand cannons that feel like Luna's howl or kept confidence?

These two are the best feeling 140's for me but both feel very different than the rest with how they shoot. I have a god roll spare rations but even that doesn't feel as great. My only problem with Luna's howl and kept confidence is the range feels a little disappointing. Any suggestions?

Weekly TRIALS OF OSIRIS Megathread- Ask Questions About Trials HERE!

Hello Guardians,

Firstly, let me address the most frequently asked questions:

>For the trials changes that went into effect on 2/14/25, check this simplified explanation https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1ipd5px/simpler\_explanation\_of\_how\_the\_new\_trials\_changes/ or for a more detailed one https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1i7wi89/clarifying\_the\_new\_trials\_matchmaking\_and\_rewards/

Q: Do I choose the Lighthouse Passage or the Trials of Osiris Passage? What's the difference?
A: The Lighthouse Card rewards you for earning win streaks with no losses, and for earning 7 wins total regardless of losses. This card puts you in CBMM (not skill based, it's just random, and there is no lobby balance). The Trials of Osiris Passage tries to match you with players of a similar skill (weekly performance) and with lobby balance. While playing on this card you won't be able to get adepts or cosmetics (although you can still get ghost shells), but you are rewarded on win or loss with a similar reward structure as iron banner or quickplay.

Q: How do I earn and farm adept weapons or Tier 5 loot?
A: Adept weapons are no longer dropping with Edge of Fate. Instead, all loot is tiered. Higher tier loot has better stats and better perk options. To earn higher tier loot in Trials of Osiris, simply grind solo ops for about 100 hours and then you'll get tier 5s on win or loss as long as you participate. I wish I was joking. Earning a 7-0 flawless passage will allow you to visit the lighthouse which usually grants rewards one tier higher than your power level and guardian rank would normally allow. At 400 power and guardian rank 9, you are supposed to get a few tier 5s from the lighthouse chest, but it is sometimes bugged and will only drop loot at the normal tier (4 in this case).

After going flawless you are stuck in flawless pool with no additional reward for playing in that pool except for chances at cosmetics), and no way to reset for extra lighthouse visits. You can avoid the flawless pool by being in a fireteam with players who have an incomplete lighthouse passage.

Feel free to ask whatever other questions you need to in the comments section below!

Premonition

Has anyone tested if withering gaze does anything to the TTK or forgiveness on premonition? This is the first 340 with withering gaze and geniunely curious. Feels amazing with zen moment as well.

High Cal Rounds

Against the top lets say 35% of players that are actually decent how beneficial is high cal rounds. Then where would you say better off running ricochet rounds for the stat distribution at top 10% like the real sweats where high cal rounds may not have an effect to them?

Bygones Feels Too Good

I feel like I'm playing on easy mode- my only complaint is the size of the scope. Anyone know how much the two perks are actually helping? It feels like a lot.

The aim benefits from both perks on top of extra damage almost feels like it shouldn't exist.

Most underrated build/loadout in the game.

This is probably the most underrated build/loadout in the game, Last Thursday with high weapons (187+ with E honing) was already good even without health built into but it was still a drawback, but now with exotics getting much more stats the build is even more broken due to it having a decent amount of health now. The new Europa (4 piece) set bonus on top of that gives it frost armor x5 you're able to tank a 3 tap from a 140 without PI and and I'm pretty sure a 120 with PI can't 2H 1B if you have 5x frost armor. If you also use built to blast on the pulse you get increased aim assist (noticeable increase in Aim assist imo) with frost armor up or a void overshield, the frost armor easily comes by just sitting still for a few seconds out of combat and if you're in combat and you have echo of vigilance you will get an overshield quite easily aswell. I don't know how this set bonus isn't nerfed yet and Last Thursday as a whole. Also the perfect stat split you would want on the build would be 140-150 Health, 10 melee, 10 grenade, 100 super, 70 class, 190 weapons. Id also pair Last Thursday with a slug, sniper or a sidearm personally.

PvP 'God Roll' Spreadsheet

I copied the spreadsheet format that Aegis uses to make things easy but I'm using this to specifically build a DIM Wishlist strictly for PvP.

Once we get some more rolls, I'll begin making it into an actual Wish List link.

I'm going to share this link and if you'd like to add some weapons to it, please go for it!

Request access here - that way I can make sure if anyone starts messing stuff up, I can just remove their access.

Don't worry, I'll fix all the formatting as I see more entries.

NOTE: IF YOU THINK ANY OTHER COLUMNS SHOULD BE ADDED, LET ME KNOW

UPDATE: All the guns up to Every Waking Moment are set in stone already. Ya'll can just enter your rolls in a new line!

Medium TLDR: This sheet is sort of like, the 'draft'. If you have a weapon roll that you think is great in PvP, go ahead & add it. If you think any columns should be added, let me know. The same goes for any and all other suggestions. If you'd like to add any good PvP armor sets, go for it! IF THE IMAGE OF THE WEAPON ISN'T SHOWING UP, DON'T WORRY. I'LL HAVE IT FIXED ONCE I'M HOME FROM BASEBALL.

Once we get a bunch of these rolls posted, we can (as a group) go through and make a community tier list of some sort.

Ferropotent feels worse than 2 X Bushido + 2 X Iron Panoply?

I am a bow / Stag voidlock main, I spent a lot of time grinding out the perfect set of Bushido + Panoply. I'm at 200 Health, 100 class, 100 melee, 90 grenade.

It feels great and I am no pvp god but I do very well in 6s which is what I play the most.

After reading a lot of people say Ferropotent is better along Panoply, I farmed 2 pieces and replaced my bushido.

I immediately felt like I was dying more and losing more duels and 1v2's. I played quite a few games like this. I went back to my regular gear, and was playing better out of the gate. I then tried a combination of bushido with ferropotent and it also felt worse.

I realize that the combo I use equates to about 65 health on kill when both proc which is not a lot. But in the end I think I still feel like that health bump helps me survive better than the DR from Ferro. But I may just need to adjust my playstyle, just not sure how.

I'm just wondering if I am crazy or if anyone else has had this experience.

I also know a lot of sweats will say Per Audacia is the best, and I agree that if I was a slidy boy and aggressive player I would love that set but it just isn't my playstyle.

Are any other sets worth considering now?

Slice as a pvp perk

So I've heard slice is worth running to counter 3 taps from 140s and other damage resistance situations. Is it only worth running with hunter to proc it by dodging or is titan and warlock viable as well?

Who else is praying to the Nine to allow Xur to being us an actually good hawkmoon this week?

I know his will is not his own and all, but part of me thinks he likes picking up the most dookie hawkmoon in the pile before heading to the tower. There has to be some joy in it for him. There just HAS to be.

(Im coping)

More fun build for hunter in comp/trials?

Yo guardians waddup,
I wanted to see if anyone can suggest me any cool and strong hunter builds for comp/trials, other than the usual void arc and solar? Maybe prismatic or even Stasis? Im getting kind of bored with void hunter.

Thoughts on Crystocrene Armor Set Bonus

What are everyone’s thoughts on Frost armor? This works on any class, but if you run Whisper of Rime, it’s even stronger on stasis kits.

The uptime of frost armor has to be roughly 80% of the time. Or course in a real match minimal time is spent out of combat, but once you build a few stacks it lasts a while and slowly decreases instead of all at once. You don’t even have to think about it, it’s just a free damage resist for doing nothing.

I am not sure how frost armor compares to resist. But since a lot of people run ferropotent armor, this is most comparable. However ferro, requires you to drain your health first and then you get the resist. With the frost armor you START the gunfight with it, which is arguably more beneficial.

The 2 piece is also a nice bonus, since it’s free orbs on 50% of kills or more. It also stands with reaper mod in class item. Many kills will drop 2 orbs. This means gaining super first. Which is very beneficial in comp or trials.

To summarize key points:

  1. Is frost armor capable of changing TTK values?
  2. How does frost armor compare to resist (ferropotent armor)?

is 60 airborne effectiveness still the goal to be able to jump and shoot with hand cannons?

I came back after leaving in lightfall. I main ace of spades and i’ve been looking for info but it’s all from 2023, though, they mention that the sweet spot is 60 AE

I also main dragons shadow, so it would feel weird switching to something like radiant dance machines

If I do:

x2 Icarus helmet mod + radiant dance machines + 14 ae from ace

25+20+14 =59

I currently can’t test stuff out cuz at work, but i’ve been thinking if 59 is good enough, i have to admit im still mad about the AE changes

Fractethyst vs Someday

I got very good roll on Fractethyst [ corckscrew+accurized + quickdraw+os ] and also just now have an opportunity to craft Someday.

My Fractetyst stats: Range: 85 / Stability: 66 / Handling: 51 / Reload: 60 unfortunately its stability masterwork :( i have quick access sling .

Will it be better with maybe 1 mod of dexterity or craft Someday .

Im using thrusters on prismatic titan and i want to keep apes at the distance and just use for quick defense.

I know Threat detectors is awesome, i have Matador 64 with threat and opening but most of the time i use energy hc.

Also, Fractethyst origin trait is very interesting as u inflict damage with subclass debug you gain handling and reload speed. Or threat detector is hands on better on Someday.
