Pineowl to the moon etc...
Most meme coins are created first and try to build a culture afterwards.
PINEOWL is one of the few cases where the meme already existed long before the token.
The original Pineapple Owl image dates back to 2013 and became part of internet meme culture years before crypto got involved. Then in 2023 it resurfaced heavily on TikTok and other platforms during the surreal meme wave alongside things like Smurf Cat and Strawberry Elephant.
What makes this interesting to me is that:
- the meme has real history
- the original creator is still involved with the community
- it has an identity outside of crypto
- it’s still extremely small compared to most meme coins people chase after they already pumped
Most low-cap meme coins are interchangeable. Dog, frog, cat, repeat.
PINEOWL at least has something authentic behind it, which is becoming rarer in this space.
I’m not claiming this is the next DOGE or PEPE. Odds are against any meme coin making it long term. But if you look at the ones that actually break through, they usually have some combination of:
- recognizable meme identity
- community persistence
- organic sharing outside crypto circles
- cultural history people connect with
That’s the angle here.
Very small market cap, active community, established meme, and still largely undiscovered outside niche circles.
Worth a look if you’re into early meme plays on Ethereum.
