Crystal Mountain’s most legendary local (ski bum, not celeb)

Hey all, I’m the outdoors reporter for Tacoma News Tribune. I’m writing up a piece about Crystal Mountain and what next season might look like. I’d love to chat with any legendary locals about the Reserve Pass and a few other matters. Please reach out to me at gavin.feek@thenewstribune.com or just comment here.

Anyone you can think of whose name is just synonymous with the mountain? They’re up there every day no matter what?

Thx!

Mid December 2026 Trip

Hello everyone. Quick question. How are the snow conditions usually on crystal mountain during Mid December. Is it doable or should I wait? Beginner snowboarder here. Less than 10 times. Green runs only at the moment. Thanks 💯 Be safe.

Transportation options without renting a car?

Hey all, so I have an event I'm working at Crystal towards the end of June. I'll be flying into Seattle and then likely catching a ride with a colleague to get to the mountain, but still need to figure out a way to get back to Seattle for my flight home (colleague won't be able to help with that). Are there any good options? Is there Uber/lyft in the area that I could take to Enumclaw to link to public transportation?

Brahma Maverick 82

Relatively new and second year Skiing. I had a rental package for my ski this season. I have the option to buy this Ski Brahma Maverick 82 for $250. I ski at Crystal. And mainly Blues. This felt like a good deal but I was wondering if I should keep my options open and rent and try different skis again next season. I might also have the option to choose from the inventory the ski shop has. Any guidance on how should I make this decision will be really appreciated!
