Client’s family friend did them and completely warped the midsole causing permanent damage and uneven bonding. Still got them as close to perfect as possible!
First time dying my own shoes, so it’s a little rough. But I am honestly pleased as punch. I am so tired of being relegated or black or white shoes because none of the beautiful color options come in extra wide.
Hey guys, I’m super new to this hobby but I was wondering how I could achieve this kind of look on my AF1s. I’ve researched about potentially spray painting them but it seems that the paint would crack super easily.
Painted the shoe to give an aged leather look like Mankind’s mask. Custom insoles, tongue tags and barb wire dubraes
I have never done this before.
Here is the shortened story. My son is profoundly disabled. He has Mowat Wilson Syndrome, an extremely rare genetic disorder. He is 1 of only 500 in the WORLD with it.
Basically, he will only wear one specific pair of shoes, but they stopped making them and I can no longer afford to pay the extremely marked-up price on resale sites.
However, he LOVES Cars (the movie). It is his special interest. I think if he had similar shoes, but Cars-themed, he would wear them. He is 9, and I can't find any Cars shoes in his size, so my only option is to make them.
I have a pair of white canvas shoes and a pair of faux leather shoes. I have the leather paints/degreaser/finisher, GAC 900, and fabric markers.
Does anyone have tips? Advice? Anything?
Other questions:
I know some things need to be heat-set, but I don't have a heat gun or an iron. Are there other ways to heat set?
What about sealants? I want them to last, but I also need to stay affordable.
And just so everyone knows, I will NOT be selling. If I happen to be good at it, I would likely make some for other kids in his facility. Maybe an Elvis-inspired pair for the kiddo who LOVES Elvis!
Thank you so much in advance. ♥️
Photos are of the shoes I have to work with. Walmart cheapies and a thrifted pair of Cat and Jack.
Hey everyone, I have a cousin who is being drafted to the NBA in a top 5 spot this summer. I am looking for someone who could do a custom sneaker for me to give to him on draft night. I don’t have much in terms of money but I can guarantee exposure as this is a big night for the year. I do understand you all are a business, so anyone who is not interested, I definitely understand. My DMs are open for more details and information.
You guys were such a help with my last troubleshooting. Thank you for that.
I’m now struggling with Angelus scarlet red. I’ve used putty, navy blue, and burgundy which all came out great and very solid no streaks. But this red is so streaky and looks terrible. This is my second attempt at red and it looks just as terrible as my first attempt. I’m 4 coats in and intend to do 6 total. What am I doing wrong? 🫠
I have some brown chuck 70 lows and I feel like they are too bland. I dont want them to be like a punk grunge style where its all dirty cause I already have that, I cant chose of something to draw/paint on it. My inspiration is like the GOLF Le fleur designs and the Graphic design Vans with the flames, I want this pair to serve as a statement piece with bright popping colors and cool designs. I need ideas, thats it
Working on a pair of boots, i prepped the shoe incredibly well and took my time with everything. the paint job came out beautifully, they cured beyond 24 hours. Once I went to apply the Angelus 4-Coat Flat, the paint seemed to go lighter and there’s brush streaks. i went fairly thin and even and now i’m scared to go even more. It’s dried and still looks the same. I don’t know what to do and I’m terrified to ruin the shoes. 🥲
Hi! I’m looking to commission a pair of custom Sulley-inspired sneakers for a theater production of the first ever Monsters Inc. Jr. I really love the look of the fuzzy Nike Abominable Snowman Dunk concepts, especially the visible fur exterior while still keeping a real sneaker silhouette. I want it more like the Nike shoes and more subtle about it being Sulley. (The reason I cant buy the nike shoes is its only available in kids sizes)
I wear a men’s size 10.5–11 and would want:
- icy blue or like Sulley colored fur
- teal accents
- possibly subtle purple striping
- low-top sneaker style
I attached inspiration photos. If anyone does custom sneaker commissions or knows artists who work with faux fur/cosplay footwear, please let me know!
Had a friend want two pairs of shoes with an Italian theme for her upcoming trip.
Read up on some techniques for the teeth boots and still curious about the gums; for the teeth I think it's best to use baked clay and for the gums I found a couple of ways with airdry foam clay or glue. How would you approach this process steps wise? Like making and sticking the gums first and then adding the teeth afterwards or beginning with gluing the teeth on and then sculpting the gums on
