CFISD Cookie Nostalgia

A long shot - but I was born and raised in Cypress my whole life, attended all CFISD schools from middle, jr high up to CW from around 05-16’. Does anyone know where CFISD food department sourced their chocolate chip cookies they sold during lunch? I’m grown now but just had the nostalgia trigger for those cookies and not sure if anyone knows where they bought them. I highly doubt they were making the dough from scratch so I hope there’s somewhere online I could buy a box 😭

Mothers Day Out Programs

Hi there!

We are moving to the Bridgeland/Cypress area in August. I have a 3 year old that I would like to enroll in a Mother's Day Out program. Can you share your recommendations and experiences with programs? Which to tour/which to avoid?

There seems to be so many and we don't live close, so I won't have a ton of time to tour, so I'm hoping to nail down a small list prior!
Thanks

Room required for 1 month

I hope you are doing well.

I am looking for accommodation/shared accommodation near HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress or Memorial Hermann Cypress from 15 June to 15 July.

I will be there for a clinical rotation, so I’m looking for a safe and affordable place to stay for one month. Please let me know if you have any leads or available rooms.

I won't have access to car so I want some room within walking distance from the hospital.

Thank you!

Old school burger joints in Cypress?

Are there still any old school burger joints that make the burgers from scratch and also serve malts IN Cypress? The malt part isn’t a dealbreaker, so if they don’t serve those that’s OK, but needs to be old school not something that opened in the last few years and preferably been around for many many years. Looking for a place that is like eating a burger that your grandma made. I grew up in a small town that still has a place like this and I really miss it. I haven’t had a good OS burger in so long.

Missed connection - Walmart in Cypress (May 9 around 1 pm)

To the guy in the jeans, tank top and a flowery tattoo on the right arm at the Walmart on the feeder of hwy 290 & Cypress Rose Hill Rd last Saturday..

I passed by you near the men's shoes aisle, and I should've smiled and said hi (I usually do!) instead of just awkwardly walking by and looked elsewhere when you crossed eyes with me. 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

I was the redhead with a ponytail wearing black ripped denim shorts, sneakers and a black striped tshirt with a pink heart at the front.

If you happen to see this, send me a message. Maybe Walmart isn't the worst place for a meet-cute after all. 😉

Please share, thank you!

For drip-coffee drinkers, where do you get your beans from?

I'm that kind of person that likes to manually grind my coffee beans and go the drip-coffee path. I'm wondering where people get their beans from (preferably a local shop in Cypress).

Also, I'm interested in hearing your experience with beans source and roast level for drip-coffee.

I once tried a popular online site that provides fresh but lightly roasted beans (with higher acidity) but I didn't like it. I usually prefer the darker side (we're talking about coffee roasting!), but I'm willing to try new configurations.

Urge CFISD to revert new technology filtering software

The Cypress-Fairbanks school district just rolled out new filtering software that's supposed to keep students safe online. Problem is, it's blocking so much that teachers and students can't access the educational resources they actually need—research databases, online libraries, learning platforms. The software is too blunt.

I started a petition because this affects real classrooms right now. Parents are worried, teachers are frustrated, and students are losing access to tools that are essential for their education. We're not asking to remove all filters—we need protection against harmful content. But there's got to be a smarter way to do this that doesn't sacrifice learning in the process.

Has anyone here with kids in CFISD dealt with this? Are teachers at your schools running into the same walls? If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing the petition. The district needs to hear that balance is possible—security *and* access to what makes education work.

Parking In Crosswalk

Have seen this way too many times. Forget all the nearby, open spots you could park in and shoppers walking in and out.

No more consideration for others!

Bikes to Cypress Park & Ride

Hello folks, I wonder if you guys prefer to bike to the bus stop or using car? What do you guys think about a local service that could offer to watch for your bike while you are leaving it at the bus stop? How much will you be able to pay for this service monthly?

People bought homes here expecting quiet neighborhoods. Then the Houston Texans showed up.

Neighbors living near the future Toro District told KPRC 2 Investigates they are worried about traffic, construction, and rising taxes as the massive development moves forward.

Taxpayers are already committed to at least $150 million connected to the project. County leaders still will not say what the final public cost could be.

Do you think the long-term benefits of the Toro District outweigh the disruption neighbors may face now?

Who owns this land and is anything planned?

I noticed this large piece of land south of 290, west of Dunham Point and east of 99 that doesn’t have any activity. Does anyone know who owns this and if there is a plan for it to be developed someday?
