Looking for someone to review my motivation letter for the DAAD “Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines” Scholarship

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the DAAD Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines Scholarship, and I have now prepared all of my application documents.

Before submitting my application, I would really appreciate it if someone with experience in scholarship applications, academic admissions, or motivation letter writing could professionally review my motivation letter and give me honest feedback.

I’m particularly looking for feedback on:

If anyone is willing to help, I would be very grateful. I can send my motivation letter privately via DM to anyone who is interested.

Thank you in advance for your time and help!

I haven’t started my application yet, am I too late for applying this year?

I recently found out about DAAD, and none of my documents are attested yet. I haven’t written any statements or motivation letters or letter of recommendations. I checked and their applications open from October. If I start the process today, is it already too late? Because I’ve seen people here have already gathered everything and even written their statements.

Research Grant - Funding - Declaration of Acceptance

Hi everyone! I wanted to check something with other DAAD Research Grant scholarship recipients. My application status changed to “Funding” and I received the scholarship documents on July 16. I sent my Declaration of Acceptance that same day, but I haven’t received any further information from DAAD since then.

Has anyone else already received further instructions/documents after submitting the Declaration of Acceptance? I’d really appreciate knowing whether this is normal or if I should contact DAAD.

Thank you!

DAAD application Deadline

I’m planning to apply for the DAAD Master’s scholarship, but I’m only starting the application now and the deadline is August 31.

I’m a recent Bachelor’s graduate and I’m interested in doing a Master’s in Germany. I haven’t prepared the full application yet, and I’m especially worried about things like choosing suitable programs, writing the motivation letter, getting a recommendation letter, and preparing the required documents.

For anyone who has applied for DAAD before: Is ~13 days realistically enough time to put together a decent application from scratch?

Any advice on what I should prioritize first would also be really appreciated. Thank you!

DAAD Recommendation Letter Process

I downloaded the official DAAD recommendation letter form from the application portal. It has specific sections that need to be filled. I sent this form to my referee.

She did not fill the form. Instead she sent me a separate Word document with all the content for those sections.

Now I have two questions.

  1. Do I copy her content into the official form myself and then submit it, or do I send the form back to her and ask her to fill it herself?
  2. How does DAAD verify that the referee actually filled the form and not the applicant? In many other portals, the system sends the form directly to the referee's email and the referee submits it back without the applicant being involved at all. But in DAAD's portal, it seems like I am the one submitting the recommendation letter, not the referee.

The form is also quite specific. It only opens in Adobe Acrobat, not other PDF readers, and it has a QR code embedded in it. But I still do not see a mechanism that tells DAAD who actually filled it.

Has anyone been through this? What is the correct process?

Please I need help

Hi everyone! I just received my IELTS results and got an overall 6.5, with 6.5 in each section. I know that 6.5 meets the minimum requirement for the DAAD doctoral scholarship, but I'm wondering whether it could still put me at a disadvantage during the selection process.

Sad news about DAAD

Hello everybody! I'm from Argentina and about a couple of hours ago I received an email from my University telling me the BMZ, the one on charge of finding the DAAD program, is no longer funding and the program is no longer available. We're about 4 months away from the German language test and presentation for my research, after a year and all pre selection paperwork, so I'm in shock. Do anyone went through something like this? Is there something I can do to go as a exchange student to Germany? Any info is appreciated. Thank you!

Insurance after scholarship ends

Hello! my DAAD scholarship ends this september and I have decided to stay in Germany after that. I had their private isnurance for the entire 2 years of my studies but I would like to switch to public insurance once the scholarship ends. Does anyone knows what will happen? Do I have to stay in the private? Is it possible to switch to the public one?

Appreciate any responses on this!

How can I find the person responsible for my DAAD scholarship program?

Hi everyone,
I’m applying for the DAAD Master’s scholarship, and I’m hoping someone who has been through the process can give me some advice.
I emailed the general DAAD contact explaining my situation. Due to the war in my country, I lost access to the internet for a long period, couldn’t attend English classes, and IELTS is currently unavailable in Iran, so I have to travel abroad to take the exam. Because of financial constraints, I won’t be able to obtain my official IELTS certificate before the DAAD application deadline, although I expect to have it before the Master’s program starts.
Unfortunately, I received a standard reply saying that applications without the required original documents cannot be considered.
However, I’ve seen several Reddit posts where people mentioned that they contacted the person responsible for their specific DAAD program, explained their circumstances, and received a more personalized response.
My question is: How did you find that person? Is there a program coordinator, selection officer, or someone responsible for a specific scholarship program that applicants can contact directly? Or is the general DAAD email the only official point of contact?
If you’ve successfully reached the right person or know how to do it, I’d really appreciate your advice.
Thank you!

Just got accepted into KOSPIE Tunisia !🥳

I just got accepted into KOSPIE and was wondering who else got in.

I was thinking it would be nice to create a group where we can share updates, exchange information, and help each other throughout the journey.

If you're interested, drop a comment or send me a DM. It'd be great to connect with you all!
