DJI Neo upgrade to Avata 2 vs Avata 360

Hey everyone,
I currently own the DJI Neo with the standard RC, and while I absolutely love its hyper-compact size, the video quality is just not cutting it for me anymore.
I want to properly step into the FPV world and get those high-quality, immersive cinematic shots. I’m looking at two options right now:

  1. Avata 2 combo with Goggles N3 and RC Motion 3 (around €750)
  2. Avata 360 with the exact same combo (around €980)

Here is the catch: I have zero interest in shooting 360-degree videos or reframing sferical footage in post. I will be flying this strictly as a traditional FPV drone.
The only reason I’m even considering spending the extra €230 on the Avata 360 is the hardware on paper. It has a slightly larger sensor, a much faster aperture (f/1.9 vs f/2.8), and a higher maximum bitrate. However, I’m not sure how much of that theoretical quality actually translates into standard single-lens 4K video compared to the Avata 2.
My main priority is getting the absolute best possible image quality with good dynamic range for post-production/color grading. I also want a beginner-friendly entry into FPV using the Motion Controller first, with the plan to buy the FPV Remote Controller later to learn full manual/acro mode.
Is the image quality gap in normal single-lens mode big enough to justify the price jump to the Avata 360? Or should I just stick with the Avata 2?
Thanks for the help!

Avata 2 lost control after switching from Manual to Sport mode

I was practicing Manual mode for the second time today. I have 20+ hours in the simulator. While practicing flicks, I hit the ground but recovered. A few seconds later, I switched from Manual to Sport mode using the rocker switch on the RC 3. As soon as I switched modes, the drone stopped responding the way I expected and shot forward into a building. I wasn't able to regain control before impact. The drone is now damaged and unable to fly.

Has anyone experienced this when switching from Manual to Sport mode? Could the earlier ground strike have caused an issue, or is there something about the mode transition I should be aware of? Does this sound like pilot error, wind, or a possible fault with the drone? Any advice would be appreciated.
