Crash in beginners week 🌳

Got the thing one week and I think the typical “I got this” overconfidence kicked in today.

  1. Fly under a water bridge
  2. Go stunt mode (because you know: “I’ve seen this on youtube”). Full crash.
  3. Avoid trauma of crashing an expensive toy and get in the air again to catch a nice sunset shot.

Happy flying this weekend everyone ☀️! This FPV thing is addictive

Batteries, ND Filters, Anything else?

Aloha, I scored the Fly More Combo with 3 batteries and the goggles and joystick 3 for $700. I was honestly expecting to pay a little more when I was looking into buying a drone, so I have some money to spend on "accessories". I live in Hawaii so I'm going to get some ND / PL filters and probably 1 or 2 more batteries. Other than that is there really anything the Avata 2 could benefit from? Or even anything the Goggles 3 or Joystick 3 could benefit from?

Aloha and Mahalos 🤙🏽

Why did this happen?

Hi all,

This is one of my first flights with the Avata 2, Goggles 3, and RC Motion 3.

I was having a great time cruising along a path a few meters from where I was standing with steady 60 Mbps connection (Auto channels) and all of a sudden the drone fell out of the sky like a rock.

I lost connection completely after I saw "Motors stopped" and this is the footage I recovered from the Goggles.

Luckily I found the drone and it was only scratched up.

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I contact DJI?

I'm worried this might happen again when I'm higher up or somewhere I can't retrieve it easily.

The drone is less than a year old so maybe there is some warranty?

Would love some advice on the matter 🙏

I should fly my Avata more.

Nowadays I'm either grabbing my analog Air65 whoop, or my 5 inch iFlight Nazgul Evoque. But every now and then I'll take my Avata 2 off in acro and go for a cruise.

DJI Avata 2 video recording flickers after using Gyroflow

I flew my DJI Avata 2 through a supermarket and then stabilized the footage with Gyroflow. So far, so good. In the video, however, you can see that the image is slightly jittery. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

Gimbal leg broken

Hello everyone, I recently crashed my drone and noticed that one of the gimbal legs is broken. Do you think it’s worth sending it in through DJI Care Refresh? And if not, do you think it’s a good idea to glue it, and if I do glue it, will DJI Care Refresh still cover it?

My first crash

Got my first drone couple of days a go, I fly motion controller. The drone is fine, I’m really surprised how beginner friendly this drone is.

Need opinions: Is this normal Avata 2 behavior or signs of damage?

I’m currently inspecting a used DJI Avata 2 before buying it.

While reviewing the footage on the SD card, I discovered it had:

  • a full pool submersion (completely underwater)

Neither of these were disclosed by the seller.

The drone still powers on and flies, but during test flights I noticed:

  • slight wobbling even just around ~3 stories high outdoor
  • occasional jerky movement in 4K 60fps footage
  • slight instability even with RockSteady enabled
  • tried to fix it with warp stabilizer on premiere pro but it needs above 20-25% of stabilization

As context: I’m a newb to FPV, so I’m trying to figure out whether this is:

  1. normal Avata 2 / FPV movement
  2. beginner misinterpretation
  3. possible mechanical damage (motor/prop/frame/sensor issue) from water + impact

I forgot if I was on sport mode or normal both but I tried both of them and it's kinda similar.

Camera stopped working

Hi guys, i had bought avata 2 recently. I had a couple of good flights, but i crashed it into a wall and it got fallen from 8 feet straight on concrete floor. After that there is no camera feed on my googles and it also doesn’t record anything. Although drone is flying and i see no damage in hardware. What to do now?
