Finally I've got a third deck. At the price of one turntable. What do you prefer, 2x cdj+2x turntables or 3x cdj+1x turntable?
Had been thinking this one up for a few years. Shout out to Rocky Mountain Custom Cabinets for making it a reality.
Got a Reloop Elite and 2 Reloop 8000 Mk2’s. Serato ready DVS mixer. Still working on the studio. I’m about halfway complete.
Got a second X1 this week so had to test it out.
Didn't quite get my head around the MU128 for effects routing but that is only a temporary measure until I get longer cables for my rack units.
I started collecting CDs a couple years ago because vinylwere so expensive already. I wanted to make a ‘vinyl’ like set up for a home DJ set up. It’s coming together. A lot of fun. Beat matching is a bitch tho
Hybrid analog DJ setup I’ve been building for a long time.
On the ground there’s a 19” rack.
Main mixer is an Allen & Heath GL2400 24ch. The first 18 channels are connected through a custom soldered multicore snake to the audio rack below. The remaining channels on the mixer are used for synths and extra gear.
The audio rack contains:
• 18 in / 18 out audio interface
• 4 in / 8 out DSP
• Mac Mini M4
Inside macOS I made a combined audio device with:
• TR-8S multitrack outputs
• Separate DJ deck channels
• BlackHole 16ch for internal routing between apps
I use MainStage as an internal router and FX environment. It receives channels from the TR-8S, Traktor and other sources, then sends everything back out to any channel I want on the analog mixer through the interface and multicore.
A few weeks ago I switched from Rekordbox to a Traktor X1 setup and honestly… absolute game changer.
The GL2400 gives me 6 aux sends that I use as dedicated hardware-style FX buses, so all the actual mixing and DJing happens on the analog desk itself.
From the mixer I also send L/R and SUB as separate outputs, so I can decide exactly which channels go into the subs.
It’s ridiculously fun to play on.
Hello everyone. It needs a bit of decorating and soundproofing, but you can already spend some pleasant moments there.
Hey folks,
My name is Eric aka dj dev out of minneapolis. Been a long time drum and bass DJ here, and in the last few years I've built out this mobile rig for bike dance parties. I've got a huge battery, Pioneer XDJ-AZ, 2 Mackie speakers and a mackie sub running this. We organize large group rides, get a few local known DJs to join us, and make bicycle-based dance parties happen here.
Multiple iterations of hardware between devices and bikes/trailer support have been through this ringer here to arrive where we are today. Last year I replaced an older all-in-one pioneer controller with the AZ, this year we are making improvements to the trailer roof and lighting, to allow for more lights and maybe some other items. The trailer is a Carla Cargo trailer, and we usually use some kind of ebike to pull this, from Perennial Cycle in uptown.
In the warmer months we do multiple parties a month, usually ranging from 50 people to around 200. Last night we had our first "private" event, for a conference in town, and had over 100 folks from out of town attending.
Hope to see you on the bike dance floor soon!
I'm still thinking about getting a wheeled rack for the complete set, but i'm not sure which one should I get:
- UDG is a bit more pricey but it looks more secure.
- Magma is a bit cheaper but has a bigger stand for extra devices.
Really happy to finally have a dedicated practice place. Still have to move things around a little bit for space reasons when I want to use my record player though haha.
Early stages in doing research. I ended up with a bunch of audio equipment from a friend. He said we can start a business together renting AV equipment OR I can keep 25% if help him find a buyer and facilitate the sale bc he's too busy at the moment to decide. This is the only picture I have until tomorrow. I'm sure there's more stuff in the boxes, but I'm just curious how much this should sell? People are asking me, and he doesn't know the current value. Where/how do I sell this stuff? Advice on testing the equipment? Maybe advice on renting out the stuff?
Hello everyone over there!! This is my little rave cave, where I also record my DJ sets for my YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@ch1lot), built with a lot of effort over a long period of time. It consists of a Xone 96, 2 Xone K2s, running with Traktor. Sometimes I add a TR-8S for extra layers, especially when I get closer to Techno.
The setup is pretty simple, but it works great for me because I love playing around with mixing in Traktor and the Xone K2s.
My style is close to Dark Disco, Italo Disco, Electroclash, and House Techno — anything with heavy bass, powerful synths, and melody, I absolutely love it! 🔥
Hi there,
My last outdoor performance was almost a year ago so it's time to continue.
No more monitors, no custom made desk, and all my gear is now movable by just one person (but requires two runs).
