Hi all-

Apologies if this is another recommendation post among a sea of them. If so, mods can delete. I am certain you have seen this story play out many times before.

I'm a late in life DMB convert. I had only really been introduced to his studio stuff and it never struck a chord. My wife has always been a huge fan so I got her front row seats recently as a nice surprise. While she predictably had the time of her life, it turns out I'm the one who may have enjoyed it the most. DMB live is INCREDIBLE.

I am hoping that the DMB heads here can point me in the right direction for stuff I should look out for. I love the uptempo stuff (two step, watchtower, tripping billies), when Dave gets "nasty" (So Right, Don't drink the water), Boyd/Bella going ham (Lie in our graves, the stone, also two step).

I am also totally open to hearing recs of songs I've already mentioned. I've become obsessed with trying to track down the best versions of their live stuff. For instance, I thought the Gorge 02 Two Step was just about the best thing I'd heard (the transition in the beginning is incredible) but then I heard the version with the Fleckstones on live trax 47 (hartford) and THAT might be the best thing i've heard.

I don't know the history of the band like you guys do but from my understanding they've gone through different "sounds" given the change in members and natural evolution. It seems like most of the stuff I've gravitated towards is early, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love the Tim Reynolds era for example, I just don't know much about it

I’m attending both nights in Grand Rapids- the first being the day after tomorrow and I don’t have bar codes on my tickets yet! Anyone else? A Ticketmaster FAQ suggests issue may be that phone may not have latest update which I just did but still no. Should I panic?

I have a decent amount of tapes I'm looking to rehome if someone would want them. I'm keeping 5-10 DMB shows for myself and looking to see if anyone would want a random show I have (years are mostly 1995-2003)

My thought would be send a stamped self addressed envelope to me and I would drop a show in the mail and send it back

There is a comedy podcast on Netflix called The Adam Ray Show, and one episode features Dave. It's 27 minutes of pure hilarity. Just them riffing off each other, and being silly. Highly recommend it after the herbal pick-me-up of your choice.

I don't want to divulge too much because my significant other sometimes peruses reddit but I really need y'all's help.

I'm having a birthday gift personalized for this amazing spouse of mine. And I'm getting a little pressed on delivery time because of course I am lol and the pressure of making this perfect and getting it here on time is freezing my brain and giving me some kind of choice paralysis.

I need help coming up with some lyrics to engrave on this gift that are preferably loving or romantic. Bonus points if it's water related. My favorite for this project is actually stay or leave:

And I know the obvious answer is that I should choose something from my spouses favorite song or from "our song," but we've been together for decades and have had MANY "our song"s. And some of you might remember when this subreddit spent a few months rating every Dave song on a 1-10 scale? My spouse insisted that I tell you guys that every song was a 10 because this maniac loves them all the most 🙄 literally doesn't have a favorite.

We have lawn seats for N1 in GR and we’re taking our soon to be 9 year old to his first show (it’s actually his birthday that day).

Any tips for a smoother time for him (and his parents)?

Ear protection is handled. I’m bummed the new arena in GR doesn’t have chair rental but we’re planning to bring them with.

I'd appreciate it if anyone in Canada has a copy of The Complete Weekend on the Rocks and is willing to sell it. I've been looking around online, but I haven't been able to find one in good condition at a reasonable price. If you're thinking of selling yours, or know of someone who is, please let me know!

Have there been any opening acts on the tour? Trying to figure out when Dave will actually come on stage so I can gauge if we’ll make it back to CC in time to catch a regional rail to the burbs.

Did I hear Nolan right? Shows from nugs will air on SXM at 8pm the night after the show?
