My left joycon connects fine for the most part but the right one is having problems. I'm getting the error "An item with the same key has already been added".

This is the first stable release of the revived hbashton DS4Windows fork. No beta label, no discontinued upstream messaging, and update checks now point at the maintained hbashton releases.
Users on older builds may need to manually update DS4Updater.exe once. Put the latest DS4Updater.exe beside DS4Windows.exe, then future update checks should use the hbashton updater path automatically. Download the new updater here, and place it in your %LOCALAPPDATA%/DS4Windows Folder IF IT EXISTS (if you don't have a %LOCALAPPDATA% Folder for DS4Windows, then the Updater will work automatically, because you have the portable version)
When I load up a pirated sekiro my ds4 windows app wont work. I am using a dualshock 5. It worked for a day then somerthign triggered it to not work anymore. I tried deleting and redownloading DS$ but nothing works. It just moves my camera in a circle if i connect a controller.
Add Gamebar setting to Profiles: Let your controller automatically switch to a Gamebar friendly X-Input profile upon pressing the home button of your controller. Enable this setting per profile in each profile's settings.
Added better Trigger threshold detection for the dual stage activation. Enjoy the adaptive triggers for things like COD and emulators.
I should have known but i figured it was necessary for something. My dualsense has been randomly disconnecting while using ds4 windows or dsx more and more frequently and yesterday i removed anything related to gamebar or xbox from my computer and it has not disconnected since. Should have known. So if you have that problem this might be the solution. Unless you use gamepass for some dumb reason. Just buy your games.
Hi all! I am a long time developer, just releasing this on the side to the community.
I added a configuration profile to change which Profiles DS4Windows will choose when using the 2 finger swipe gesture option, so that you can better fine tune your custom experience! This also allows a user to have endless Auto Profiles for specific games, while also having a couple that work everywhere, all independently.
I also fixed the duplication glitch that happens when using Moonlight Virtual Controller Support. I did this by saving the UUID of each controller DS4Windows creates, and referencing that list each time a controller is scanned for so that DS4Windows does not readd a controller it has already created. It is shocking to me this was not already done. I am also working on a feature to add the ability to choose which device type (Joycon, Switch Pro, DS4, or Dualsense) a profile should be for. If the device is connected, and a game is being played with an auto profile for everything AND an auto profile for that specific device, DS4Windows will not (break) but will switch to the profile FOR THAT DEVICE, FOR THAT GAME. This will add some overhead, but should be minimal.
The hope is that this program can be used to fine tune an experience on a HTPC or Game Console PC using Steam or Playnite Fullscreen, for users who like to use Switch Pro controllers, Joycons, and Playstation controllers, this program has been great. It's my hope to keep it great in 2026.

LONG LIVE DUALSHOCK 4 AS THE BEST CONTROLLER
I am attempting to use my DualShock4 controller with ds4 to play fh6 but I am getting no input. I have already made sure it is emulating as an xbox 360 controller in ds4 and have the setting to hide it, and additionally have hidhide. Any advice ?
So I just connected my PS5 controller to my computer hoping to play a game called 2k21 on Epic Games. However, all the controls are messed up and I'm not sure how to change it. I've tried using DS4Windows but I don't really understand it. Any help would be appreciated
i just downloaded ds4windows and when i use custom colours (light lavender) it works fine but as soon as i get in game it defaults to a bright teal colour?
and then when i alt tab to go back to ds4windows and turn on my custom colours, as soon as i go back into game it goes back to bright teal
how do i just keep it my custom light lavender colour?
i play through the xbox app on my pc and every time i open the game i get a bug

My PS4 controller keeps switching to a mouse input mid game, I looked through the sub for similar threads and everybody is suggesting steam is the issue. Issue is I'm playing a game on steam that requires an Xbox controller which is why I'm using ds4 windows in the first place. Any ideas on how to fix?
I usually play connected via USB using a DSy or DS4, but it only works with a cable. When I try to enter the game connected via Bluetooth, nothing happens until I close the game and connect it with USB.
