He’s clearly an alcoholic, nursing hangovers every other day and looking rough as hell. Staring into his eyes is like looking into a dead, empty soul with zero life left in it. Working one day out of the week renders him completely useless the rest of the time. What if he had a real job instead of this pathetic panhandling on TikTok Live? Those lonely old ladies need to wake up—why keep giving their hard-earned (or husbands’) cash to this guy who wouldn’t last a single day in the real world? I would like to use this post to raise awareness and talk about the darker side of gifting and hear other people’s anonymous stories of their experiences while gifting consistently.

I was never a huge gifter but I started gifting a creator almost everyday at first it was fun and gave me a rush but then after awhile I realized what I was doing was financially irresponsible and only hurting me while benefiting them.
I was just caught up in the attention and dopamine from it.

I have dealt with a gambling addiction in the past and I noticed TikTok gifting gave me the same type of feeling but I’d argue a gifting addiction is even worse than a gambling addiction because there’s nothing to win or gain you become so wrapped up in the TikTok live vortex and don’t even realize how much you’ve spent.

I would like to hear if others have dealt with this or are currently dealing with a gifting addiction.

I know this isn’t news to anyone, but I think this is so wild for agencies to be doing. I get the “help people if you want to be helped” rule in theory but I feel like this so against what TikTok should be. Everything is so fake and forced. Those diamonds should be earned instead of guaranteed recycling.
