Looking for a specific kind of sci-fi / cyberpunk asset.

Hello. I do sci-fi art and while I am not looking for this exact thing from Warhammer 40,000 specifically, it's the most clear example I can find. TLDR; I'm looking for small implants that would be roughly flush with someone's skin, spread out across the body, and be used for physically attaching power armor or other cybernetic systems to them. A visual example of what I mean is on the leftmost side of this image:

Hoping to avoid modeling this myself as it wont look as good. Mostly because I don't know a good way to make a "cup" of flesh around where those would go to sell them being attached rather than, you know, props stuck on at places. So I guess a tutorial on how to quickly and easily do that would work too.

Space 2022: The Year We Gave Up On Pants

A secret rendezvous after bridge duty?

Pull out your most formal bodysuit and let's get got <3

This is circa 2022 I believe? It's a G3 model re-skinned. One of the highpoints of my first steps into proper emissive lighting!

Big Bat Library Manager

I made a library manager for DAZ with a Blender bridge built in. It searches your DIM-installed and manually-installed content together, and links out to DAZ, RenderHub, and Poser for content pages. One-click loading works for clothes, poses, environments, pretty much everything.

A few friends who've been testing it this week found assets they'd completely forgotten they owned.

It also installs packages for you, so you never have to manually unpack a purchase again. On first run, it scans your existing libraries and builds the references, so everything you already own, and everything you buy after, stays searchable and loadable from one place.

If you're tired of fighting the DAZ Studio library system, give it a look. https://www.patreon.com/BigBat_Productions/posts/big-bat-library-162913695

What kind of hardware is required for real time rendering in iray and how close are we to getting there?

https://reddit.com/link/1un9m1b/video/2h1zgoaaw7bh1/player

every frame you see here took my RTX 2080 13 minutes to render with the default render settings Daz gives you right out of the box. i went ahead and just played the video in reverse when it reaches the end, there were only 30 frames rendered, the rest are just the same frames played in reverse.

this would take 6.5 hours to finish this animation, for a 1 second video. Daz is great for storytelling and making something like a comic book. but animation takes too long.

What do I need 5 RTX 5090 working on different frames? or more power with a cost in the $100,000 or more?

PLEASE HELP ME INSTALL VERSION 4.24

Hey, I recently discovered the Daz Studio 3d program and I really want to "play" with it. I read that the best version is 4.24, but when I try to download this version in the manager, I can't, I click on "Download" and it shows "Retry" and so on, I can't even uninstall this version 6. I will be very grateful if someone helps me

What render settings do you recommend universally?

Two questions actually, first one is in the title.

I render at full HD with 2k sample size, texture compression off, pixel filter lanczos. Everything else is on default settings. I have seen nominal luminance and noise degrain filtering being recommended a couple of times but I could not really figure them out. I also had a lower pixel filter radius but set it back to default after finding out that that was the reason for texture artifacts (moire). Render quality is on at 1.00 and 95% but for most of my environments I can't even hit that target so it just renders those 2k samples anyway, or maybe the scenes are just not well lit. I am not very good with lighting yet 😅

Second question, do you use the same settings for animations? I usually half the sample size just to render an animation faster and obviously it loses quality.

I basically use the same render settings for all or most of my renders and scenes and want to know what you use or recommend. I could go higher with the sample size if needed. I use the renders for a visual novel and the engine I am using is optimized for full HD images so if I would use a higher resolution I would need to downscale them anyway.

About third party utilities

For reference, I've been using Daz Studio for years and have written some scripts and add-ons for it.

That said:

Has anyone found any good third party utilities for use with Daz Studio? Every now and then I rummage through github for things, but not everything is there. I'm wondering what gems I've been missing that would make life easier or more interesting when working with Daz.

Has anyone noticed the strange github repos for Daz? The ones that promise a"digital atelier where imagination meets automation" or one that work by "integrating advanced neural synthesis with the Daz 3D ecosystem". Then the code section contains a 70 line yaml file. I swear the 'promo' Readme is longest thing. Any idea what's going on here?

A few things I already use, in case anyone's curious:

  • siblount/PMForDAZ: For easily installing all that sweet Renderosity, Renderhub, and Patron content easily. It hasn't been updated for years but still runs. Anyone found a better one?
  • bluemoonfoundry/daz-script-server: An active developer with a few good Daz projects. This one basically lets you run complex scripts using an api. Why? I use it with my StreamDeck/Bitfocus Companion. He's also working on an mcp/llm setup and better content browser.
  • ibrahim-humadi/Daz-Misc-Scripts: another out of date repo. Some of the scripts require changes but they have some good ideas.
  • Diffeomorphic: Really trying to see if I can make the switch to a Daz/Blender workflow, particularly with the subscription model Daz 6 is pushing.
  • My repo for using an Elgato Stream deck is outdated and I don't have the bandwidth to work on it, particularly since switching to Linux I've switched to Bitfocus Companion.

Any thoughts and what third party products are you guys using?

Need help with backdrop

Hello.

Today I've bought the Paris City Center scene for Daz Studio as it was a bargain, but once I installed it it shows very differently from the promotional renders as shown here. What did I miss? Thanks in advance.

Need assistance with missing textures

Hello, I am having an issue where I have the asset loaded into Daz it’s saved to my account but when I go to load it onto the character I get a missing texture error. Then when I go to find it, it’s in the wrong place. How do I fix this?
