What does "Staff, M" under the Instructor category mean when looking for classes?

How does this apply specifically for mathematics courses?

Berkeley Student Testimony: Join Math 2BL!

Hi guys, I'm a student at UC Berkeley, but I transferred from De Anza/Foothill. A class that I think is so super valuable that I took is Professor Jeff Anderson's Math 2BL (comes after Math 2B. Please talk to him about pre-reqs if you're interested) at Foothill. It prepares you academically and professionally for basically anything in your career through the lens of linear algebra.

Please sign up this quarter as this valuable class is at risk of being discontinued bcs of a lack of students

Attached below is a PDF with more information.

P.S It's an easy A if you do your work.

Class I needed isn’t offered online

Hi guys. I’ve never done college before and I need help. I registered for English and the support course with it, but I need to register for a third class to get 12 units or above, and the statistics class I needed has no online or asynchronous classes available. What do I do now? please only answer if you really know what to do

Heyer Canvas grade versus real grade

My prof said our canvas grade and real grade (my portal) grade are different. My canvas grade and real grade (my portal) are exactly the same, nothing changed. When I calculated my grade and divided it by the total it gave me a drastically different grade. Idk if I should email the prof would it make things better or not. The grade I calculated was a lot higher and I checked multiple times to make sure it was right. Idk if I should just be happy passing the class. Has anyone taken his class and had this issue? Thanks

How common are calculus professors who schedule in-person exams after 3:45 PM?

Hello, in winter of 2027, I plan to take Calculus 1, but due to personal reasons, I will only be able to take exams that are scheduled 3:45 PM or later. Does anyone know of calculus professors who schedule their exams after 3:45 PM?

Thank you all so much!

Registration status.

I have the class as web-registered, does that mean I am in the class? Just making sure I am in the class and not like wait listed or anything.

MyPortal Woes

Hello, I am a new student at DeAnza.

I am attempting to update my address in MyPortal, but I cannot fill out the "Type of Address" Tab. Every time I attempt to input anything, "No address found" pops up. I have attempted to click the magnifying glass but nothing is brought up. I have attempted to call and email the school but I have received radio silence.

Is anyone else having this issue, or may know a fix?

Thank you.

Got reported for academic integrity

yo, I’m at De Anza and I’m kinda stressing rn 😭
My professor told me he’s going to formally report me for academic integrity issues on 2 exams in the same class.
I’m not really posting this to argue about whether he’s right or wrong. I already decided I’m gonna be honest about everything, take responsibility for what I did, and cooperate with whatever process happens next.
I’m mostly just trying to figure out what happens after the report and how serious this can get.
This is my first time ever dealing with any formal academic integrity / disciplinary process, so I have no idea what to expect.
If anyone at De Anza/Foothill has been through this before:
how long did it take for Student Affairs / the board to contact you?
did you have to do a meeting or hearing?
did they let you explain your side?
what punishment did you end up getting? warning, probation, F, suspension, etc.
has anyone gotten reported for 2 exams from the same class?
realistically, how likely is suspension?
if you’re an international student, did this mess with your F-1 status at all?
I know every case is different and Reddit isn’t official advice lol. I’m gonna talk to my counselor / international student advisor too.
Just wanna hear from people who actually went through it because I’m lowkey freaking out rn 😭
Thanks y’all.
