65 year old lady, here....

I bought a steam deck (in January) 'cause I saw the writing on the wall - the industry is going digital. Sony just proved my hunch and Nintendo went to 'key' carts.

Here's my problem. I never set up a password on my steam deck. But now I need to access an SD card root. The KDE partition manager wants a password for authenticating as a steamOS User...

I have no clue what to do. Is there a generic password if one is never set up?

Edit: Did I mess up here? I can't figure out what this means...

Unable to download required update

I’ve been in a very bad/weird spot with my steam deck. I’ve been having this storage issue where my deck would say it has too much storage and cannot run properly. I have no games downloaded onto my internal storage and have no idea where this massive pile of storage could even come from. I ignored it for a while but it got to a point where very little could even run on my steam deck and I couldn’t update it. I tried looking EVERYWHERE to see what to do but I couldn’t remove this data, so I opted for a factory reset since I heard it would uninstall all data off of my deck. Everything worked perfectly fine but when installing steamOS this message pops up.

I tried doing that thing where you hold the volume down button and the three dots but it keeps just happening. Am i screwed? I just want my thing to work and I feel like I’m losing it. : [

Trouble deleting unneeded data

I’ve had this issue for months now where I’ve had this massive folder of unused data on my internal storage that I cannot get rid of. I tried looking at it desktop mode and it won’t show me what it is, I’ve tried factory resetting and that doesn’t work, I’ve tried deleting games and that won’t work either. I’ve tried what feels like EVERYTHING I’m still getting nowhere

Won’t boot up

Hi everyone, my steam deck stopped charging. Each time I started a game it when plugged in (only moving very slow from 0 percent even after being plugged in) I tried to hard reset. Now I have this screen and I’m scared all my game data from this year is gone. If anyone can help, please let me know what to do. I am not at all good with the tech side of this.

Steam deck has stick drift

It seems to be game specific but I’m not sure what could be causing it, it’s very apparent when I play need for speed most wanted. Play for a few minutes and all of a sudden the stick is forcing left. Any thoughts?
