I am going to make a map of the Doria world after the collapse of the DoR. If your providence has become independent, merged with another nation, or if you have created a new nation that takes in the Doria world please tell me.
MY FELLOW CITIZENS!
It is SATURDAY.
The hats are silly.
The cake is ready.
The roses are nervous.
And the Council of Bitey, Jerry™, and Bandit is preparing to judge the finest headwear in the nation.
Please arrive wearing your SILLIEST HAT.
If you forgot your hat, do not panic. Simply place something ridiculous on your head.
A bucket.
A lampshade.
A smaller hat on top of a larger hat.
A third hat.
The possibilities are endless.
The government may have banned us from the rose garden.
Kyle may have written laws.
The horse with four front hooves ate my legal defense.
BUT NONE OF THIS MATTERS.
Because today...
WE PARTY.
May the silliest hat win!
- Quentin Trembley
Chairman, ECRGHRGPA
*Submit your hat down below for the panel of judges to score*
Citizens!
It is now Thursday, which means the RSVP period has officially CLOSED!
But do not despair! The Silly Hat Party will take place THIS SATURDAY, and all citizens are hereby reminded to arrive fully prepared to display their SILLIEST HATS.
Please inspect your hats immediately.
Is it silly enough?
Is it unnecessarily large?
Does it serve absolutely no practical purpose?
If the answer is yes, congratulations! You are prepared.
I have also appointed the official Judgement Council of the ECRGHRGPA:
🦝 Bitey 🦝Jerry 🦝Bandit
These three distinguished raccoons shall determine whether your hat meets the required standards of silliness.
Their decisions are final.
Their qualifications are questionable.
Their attendance is mandatory.
Please remember: the Council is not bribable.
They accept snacks. Just NO COTTON CANDY
Saturday approaches!
Prepare your hats!
Prepare your snack!
Prepare you Handshakes!
Prepare your excuses!
THE SILLY HAT PARTY SHALL COMMENCE!
Address is:
1 the Rose Garden lane Callens, multum, DOR
BE THERE OR BE SQUARE. actually, if you are square, that's silly enough to get in!9
Justice for Whatever this is!
Millions must shake hands or appendages, we don't discriminate!
— Quentin Trembley Chairman, ECRGHRGPA
No doubt the troubled knights of yore shall find our king!
I call upon my fellow knights of the round table, help me to find our very king and sun! He hath gone missing for many a morne and many a (k)night! The once and future king is surely lost about this grand and auspicious lande and I shall inquire upon thee help me locate our leige~
My fellow citizens,
I come before you today with a heavy heart, a confused hat, and several questions.
The government has banned Silly Hat Parties from the rose garden.
The rose garden.
A place where roses grow, bees buzz, and perfectly respectable citizens should be free to wear hats of absolutely unreasonable proportions.
And now we are told that deadly force may be used if our hats approach the garden.
Deadly force!
Against hats!
What comes next? Will bow ties require permits? Will socks need government approval? Will umbrellas be declared a threat to national security?
I have also heard that Kyle refuses to shake hands with his associate because he is ugly.
But that is precisely why it is important.
Let us return to the roses.
I propose that every rose receive a tiny hat.
Top hats for the tall roses. Cowboy hats for the rebellious roses. Wizard hats for the mysterious ones.
Some will call this ridiculous.
They are correct, But that is precisely why it is important.
So I announce the formation of the Emergency Committee for Rose Garden Hat Rights and Generally Pleasant Afternoons. or ECRGHRGPA.
Our demands are simple:
Restore Silly Hat Parties.
Give the roses hats.
Make Kyle shake hands.
And provide cake.
I will not surrender my hat.
I will not abandon the rose garden.
And I certainly will not allow anyone to ban whatever this is.
Open the gates.
Bring the cake.
Prepare the roses.
We are coming, and we are bringing very silly hats.
Thank you.
My dear friends!
I am absolutely delighted to announce that the Silly Hat Party is officially underway!
Now, I know some people have asked, "Mr. Trembley, why are we having a party?"
To which I respond, "Why wouldn't we have a party?"
Life is too short to attend parties without silly hats.
Some people have suggested that the hats should be "optional." I disagree. If one person wears a ten-foot-tall top hat while another wears no hat at all, the balance of whimsy is thrown completely out of alignment. We simply cannot allow such chaos.
There will be cake.
There will be balloons.
There will be party games.
There will be one very long table with those little paper noisemakers that unroll when you blow into them.
Naturally, there will also be a Hat Inspection Station. This isn't because we don't trust people. It's because someone might accidentally arrive wearing a perfectly sensible hat, and that would be terribly embarrassing for everyone.
My opponents have cruelly claimed that the Silly Hat Party "isn't a real political movement."
Exactly!
It's a party!
Please RSVP by Thursday so we know how much cake to order.
And remember: if anyone tells you they're from another party, be polite and invite them. There's always room for another friend wearing an exceptionally ridiculous hat.
Thank you all, and don't forget to bring presents. I haven't decided whose birthday it is yet, but I'm sure someone deserves them.
Today Kyle and I collaborated to ban all Silly Hat Parties from the rose garden. We are authorizing deadly force if they attempt to approach the garden.
Me and Kyle don't shake hands cause he's ugly.
Hi, its me, Vanlalruata. To be honest, I don't even know if you guys know me that much. I mainly was just always a lurker in the comments, calling people Mussolini or making fun of various parties and factions. But I never participated in any elections, or in any wars, or what ever. Occasionally, I would post propaganda posters, but that was about it. I'm still very proud of them though, I think they turned out neat.
My greatest contribution was arguably one very early in the history of this sub: the Popular Front.
In the period I like to call Red September, a party called the Red Grits Alliance formed. A place for all socialist communists, anarchists and initially even social democrats. For the presidential election our party had formed an electoral alliance with the Progressives. However, this alliance didn't have a name yet, it was a simple endorsement. Now, this is where I played my role. I made my first posts on this subreddit, first a variant of the Einheitsfrontlied specifically written for the Progressive-Red Grit Alliance, and some time after that, a sloppy pixel art post celebrating, inspired by Manuel Azana and Leon Blum, an arrangement I referred to as the "Popular Front". The post wasn't that successful, it was poorly made and even had a typo, however, it seemed to move something within our movement. Gradually, although never even officially formulated, "Popular Front" became the name of our joint electoral ticket.
After that, I mainly made propaganda against the September Pact in a period I like to refer to as "Red September". Among these, I made a post which was among the most successful ones of the sub at the time, one proclaiming "CRUSH THE SEPTEMBER PACT" after the scandalous truths about the September Pact surfaced.
After the landslide victory of the left wing forces, I stayed active until the second presidential election, but never returned to my initial activity again. Occasionally, I would return, only to disappear again for a few weeks.
I was a man of the early DoR, and it seems I will forever stay one. I really loved this fun little project, I made friends, discovered new political perspectives, and much more. It even had an important role in my political radicalization. While I joined this project as a simple democratic socialist, now I can proudly proclaim that I am a Marxist, a socialist and a communist.
I will now spend my time in the Khanate of Tutum, where many of the friends I made are lurking.
Goodbye DoR, I loved you all.
LONG LIVE THE POPULAR FRONT!
In a more shocking twist, Sandy decides to announce that, "I have too much work to do. I don't know why I ran for office. I'm dropping out and will hand my seat to Kyle."
Why is she like every kid in the DOR who won office?
Tonight, in a shocking landslide, Sandy has won legislature. In her speech she talks about rice pudding and other things, but it all doesn't make sense. You should expect our first bill by Saturday.
