Seeking Board Game Night Recommendations for a Friend

A friend of mine lives in the Broomfield area and is interested in finding board game nights to meet more people and play different games. I found this old thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/DenverGamers/s/CdL7CoJTKz. Are these good recommendations still? It’s about 3 years old. My friend is a retirement age adult; it’s not a requirement that there be lots of similarly-aged players, but it’s a bonus.

My friend doesn’t use Reddit and I’m just trying to make a good list of potential options to pass along. Thanks in advance.

Looking for a player

Hello, its me again. I am running a PF2E game on Fridays every other week in the Arvada Westminster area. I am looking to fill a spot as one of our players dropped out. The party just hit Level 2 and are still figuring out party dynamics so you wouldn't be coming into a fully flushed party. DM me if you're interested.

The first session you would be joining is in 2 weeks time on the 17th.

Found our person, thank you.

Colorado TTRPG Events Newsletter

Hey everybody, a friend and I have started a free newsletter that rounds up the rpg related events around Colorado. We were a bit frustrated by the fragmented nature of the gaming scene, with each group or store having a discord/FB page/IG or whatever, and decided to try to collect as much as we could all in one place.

The newsletter focuses on stuff for large groups, so nothing about home games. But game nights at local businesses, game based improv or shows, upcoming conventions and the like. We also have maps of game stores and places events are held, and a calendar of upcoming events. Plus if you know of an event or are hosting one you can drop us a line and we can add it to the newsletter.

If you're interested you can check out the latest issue that dropped yesterday below. We hope to see you there!

Looking for cool, sociable people who would be willing to be the Dungeon Master for community DnD sessions.

Heyo. I own a small coffee shop in Cap Hill with a loft space and as an avid gamer myself, would love to host some weekly DnD sessions. However, it has been many a year since I've been a DM, so I'd prefer to find others in the community who'd want to participate as the DM.

Bonus points if you'd want to try to do a women's only group or LGBTQ+ board game nights. I'll help make it happen.

Trying to build a small Denver-area gamer/activity Discord

Hello!

I’m trying to get a small Denver-area Discord going called Colorado Adventure Club.

The idea is pretty simple: a chill local space for adults who want to get out more, meet people, and make actual plans and follows through.

Nothing too formal. People can share, set-up or join whatever is going on. Games, hikes, shows, cafe meetups, outdoor stuff, etc.

I’m starting small with monthly hikes, and the first one is scheduled for 7.18.26.
Details in the discord!

This is not a dating server or party group. Just a low-pressure place to meet people through shared activities.

If that sounds like something you’d be into, feel free to join.

MTG - Where to start?

Hi everyone! So, I recently got a crash course on playing MTG from my older brother and am immediately intrigued. They taught me how to play standard using a basic starter pack I found on a whim and then did a very quick run through of commander with their decks, which was super fun.

My question to you all is where do I start? How do I create a deck? I want to learn more about the game without feeling like I'm inconveniencing someone.

I've heard about online tabletop but don't feel like I will pick up on it as quickly if I'm not repeating the motions and talking things out loud lol. Halp!

New Friends!

Hi folks, 32M here. New to Arvada and also a new graduate. Would love to put myself out there and see about making new friends in the area and host some type of board game night. Wife would probably join some days also. My schedule is a mess as I work in medicine. But I’ve seen a discord float around every now and again, maybe could start one if there would be any interest.

We have two puppers (mini aussies) and although I’m less outdoorsy in the summer, I do like snowboarding, hiking, and just now getting into biking. I do some light gaming but think my attention span is a tad better with board games. Recently, we just got Hegemony and absolutely love it—just would be more fun with a group lol

AD&D 1st Edition

Are there any groups running 1st Edition or a similar rule set, or is there even a community that desires it in Denver? When I say "similar rule set" I'm talking about Swords and Wizardry. I would consider B/X Clones more Holmesy and something like Castles and Crusades more 2nd Edition.

Post-Apocalyptic PvP Combat Game in Littleton this Sunday! [FREE]

Hi Denver Gamers!

Our community game days around the Denver area have been drawing awesome crowds, so we are keeping the momentum rolling and bringing the action down to Littleton this weekend.

If you love competitive gaming, tactical strategy, or fantasy/sci-fi settings, but want a unique way to get outside, level up stamina, and meet people, you should come check out Colorado Jugger.

What is Jugger?

Think of it as a live-action, high-energy mashup of an objective-based PvP arena, rugby, and a post-apocalyptic action movie. Two teams fight to protect their "runner" so they can score a point with the game piece (the skull). It’s fast-paced, highly strategic, and relies heavily on team synergy. While it’s huge internationally (100+ teams in Germany alone), it’s currently one of the fastest-growing local combat communities right here in Colorado.

Why join the match?

  • 100% Free / All Gear Provided: We supply all the foam weapons (called "pompfen"); you just show up and play.
  • Zero Grind Required: Every single one of us started at Level 1 with no experience. If you can jog and swing a padded stick, you’re ready for the field.
  • The Lobby is Open to Everyone: We mix up the teams throughout the morning, making it incredibly easy to meet people and make new friends.
  • The Post-Game Guild Meetup: We almost always head to a local Littleton restaurant afterward for a casual social hour to swap stories from the field.

The Details:

  • When: This coming Sunday, 6/28/2026 @ 10:00 AM
  • Where: Robert F. Clement Park (7306 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80123) at Pavilion H
  • Bring: Water, athletic clothes, and running shoes (cleats are a huge plus if you have them).

Whether you’re a tabletop strategist, a hardcore PC gamer, or a casual athlete looking for a real-life battle arena (most of us are a mix of all three), there is a spot for you on the field.

Learn more about the sport: https://www.coloradojugger.com/

Join our Discord to ask questions or coordinate rides: https://discord.gg/3TRjwZ9cyb

See you at Clement Park! ⚔️🛡️

FreeRPG Day June 27th

As a reminder, FreeRPG Day is tomorrow! Lots of interesting modules and Quickstarts to expose RPGers to other systems.

Up at Atomic Goblin Games, we have Pirate Borg at 11am and 4pm with Todd, Vampire at 11am with Brandon, and at 1pm Cyberpunk Red with Tony.

Players are in the running for the non-module products such as dice, miniatures, etc.

We’re providing 3 free modules per group for just showing up (I may talk your ear off though :) ), and 3 additional modules with the purchase of an RPG book (or other purchase; the idea is to expose you to other cool RPGs though :) ).

Open from 10am to 9pm Saturday.

As a note, we have a bunch of other RPGs available. D&D of course but Shadowrun (my go-to), Runequest, Vampire, Zombiecide, Pirate Borg (the kickstarter!), Mothership (just arrived), Dukk Borg, Aliens, Bladerunner, Arkham Horror RPG, Mutant Earth Zero, Tiny Dungeon, Dread, and many others.

Time Crisis 5 in Denver - Lodo 1up Shut Down :(

I foolishly kept saying "tomorrow" to stop by to play, and now it looks like they've shut down. Does anyone know of another place in time that has it?

Thank you!

Hello! I’m 20, as gay as the day is long, and looking for local buddies! I play overwatch and marvel rivals, genshin, Roblox, and the occasional zero build Fortnite! I have both a Xbox and a ps5 so whatever you have we can find a way to play together! Just tired of not having a irl friend and what better way to make friends then mutual interests!

Opening for a D&D 5.5e Icewind Dale Campaign, Need One More Player. South Denver, 225 & Yosemite

Hey all, we've started an Icewind Dale, Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign down at my place in South Denver, 225 and Yosemite. We're looking to get ourselves back up to a full force of 4 players, and we need one more. We're meeting biweekly on Sundays, starting this Sunday. We've already had a few sessions, so you would be joining everyone potentially rather fresh right at level 3.

We’re a small, consistent group running a serious but still fun campaign in Icewind Dale. We’re looking for someone who wants to engage with the world, the story, and their character in a thoughtful way. This is not a meme-heavy or slapstick group. We enjoy roleplay, exploration, and meaningful choices, and we like to lean into the atmosphere and consequences of a dark, survival-focused campaign in the permanent dark and winter at the top of the world. That said, we’re not tryhards or rules lawyers, we’re here to have a good time and tell a strong story together.

We meet at noon, have a lunch/brunch hosted by me, your DM, and then play for a few hours and get you all out of here before dinnertime.

StarCraft Tabletop Community?

Been thinking of getting into the new Starcraft game and wanted to see if there's any sort of community excited for it before I go and blow my load on minis. I think its going to be a good game but it's fighting Warhammer for players.
