More often than not I have noticed people bashing Cool Water right, left and center for smelling generic and lasting for a jiffy. This is not just about this subreddit but everyone mostly. It's true the Davidoff Cool Water EDT doesn't last, you'd be lucky if you get more than 4 hours on skin.

BUT what it does do though, it makes me feel GOOD, like real good and I can bet I am not alone. Given to the world by Pierre Bourdon in 1988, who also famously co created Creed's Green Irish Tweed. This is the quintessential aromatic aquatic freshie. The lavender in the top is just so soothing and relaxing and effortlessly elegant.

Whenever I go back home for a relaxing weekend, out of all my fragrances this is the one I always want to grab post a shower if I intend to sit at home and feel fresh, or go for a cheeky breakfast with my friends.

The soothing scent profile aside there's also a massive nostalgia association. Back in the grades when PCB used to be Science, I saw a Cool Water bottle at my friend's place who had reputation of a hoity toity lifestyle, his father was kind enough to let me catch a whiff, as a child who had never put his nose on anything but Dermi Cool BOY I was mesmerized, that's when the scent got ingrained. The other notable association would be the movie Shaurya, there's a moment when Kay Kay Menon mentions Davidoff Cool Water and I become that Leonardo di Caprio pointing at the screen lol. It was years and years of hoping to be capable enough to acquire a bottle and when it ultimately came down to it, my best friend, she beat me to it! I got a 200ml Bottle of Davidoff Cool Water as a gift. WOW. I consider myself a fulltime Davidoff glazer and I always will be.

This smells old, yeah no shit! It came out before my parents got married.. There are better long lasting alts, THERE ARE! But none of them are Davidoff Cool Water EDT. End of conversation.

The Cool Water Intense, a "beast mode" long lasting fragrance, yes! But it is not in the same realm as the EDT, not for better or worse it is just DIFFERENT. Created by Annick Menardo in 2019, this is a sweet citrusy coconut scent, the only thing common with the OG is the borrowed name. By itself it is good, I like it, you can clearly see that by the dent I have made in it over half a year. But is one replaceable by the other NO, they're unique in their own right.

What are some of your favorite scents which don't last as much or get a lot of criticism but they hit the spot right for you?

Been sitting on the fence about this one for legit over a month. saw it drop to 3.3k on Amazon with 15% off today and just went ahead and bought it. only know it from testing at shoppers stop once but the juice was actually really nice. warm, woody, a bit sweet without being too in your face about it.

not sure what to expect longevity wise but hoping it holds up. also at 82 rupees per ml this thing is stupid cheap for what it smells like.

anyone here wear this regularly? is it a one trick compliment getter or does it have some actual depth to it

Armaf Odyssey Mega - 6.75/10

I have smelled the og and it gets the closest. I have tried Armaf Dunescapes & Lattafa Fakhar earlier, but I like this one the best. Very weak performance is the deal breaker for me

Great pineapple frag. I love the Aventus DNA, but this one has a twist, and I like it sm. A good summer frag IMO.
Performance: Pretty Good.

Khadlaj island dream - 6/10

Clone of- LV Symphony

A synthetic sweet grapefruit smell; it smells similar to Pacific Aura. Not a fan of this. Performance: Pretty mid with a 1 hr projection and lasted for 5 hrs.

YB Wulong Cha- 7.75/10

Clone of- Nishane Wulong Cha

I like the OG, so I wanted to try this one. The opening is bitter but gets smoother after 15 mins. I love the blend, just not a fan of the opening. You can try it if you are a fan of the tea note.
Performance: Great performance with 2-3 hrs of projection and 7-8 hrs of longevity. 

Would repurchase.

Dynasty by Lattafa-  7/10

This one is smoother than the previous one. I like the scent profile more but performance is not that good (Idk if  it's a  maceration issue)

A very fruity, fresh summer frag. I love the watermelon note but don't like the coconut note in this, which is the only deal breaker for me for this.

Performance: 2 hrs of moderate projection with 7-8 hrs of longevity.

Ravine Ice by French Avenue - 8/10

Clone of- Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss 

Absolutely love this one. A very clean and uplifting scent. I love going to the gym with this one. 

Performance: 1 hr of moderate projection with 6-7 hrs of longevity.

Would repurchase.

Freeze by Riiffs- 5.5/10

Original 

Smells fresh and heavy on citrus. It has neroli on the dry down. Blend is mid, in my opinion. Personally, I don't like it that much, but I wore it and went to my cousin's place, and my aunt (she has asthma and can't stand fragrances) complimented my fragrance and said it smells good.
Performance: Pretty good. I wore this to the office in the morning, and it stayed for approx. 8 hrs with good projection.
Would not repurchase. 

Shiyaaka Snow by Khadlaj - 6.5/10

Clone of- Louis Vuitton Météore
A clean and powdery scent. Smells more unique than most summer fragrances. Wore this to the gym and kept getting whiffs of it. However, I'm not a big fan of the smell. 

Performance: Projection is decent and lasts about 7 hrs, I think. Sillage is mid.
Would not repurchase.

Ghaf by Ahmed Al Maghribi  - 6/10

Clone of- Idk but some people say it's a dupe of Bois Imperial (havent tried that)

It is a ginger-heavy scent. I'd say it's a pretty decent scent profile. Tried it because I'm a fan of their Kaaf and Kaaf Noir, but this one is a miss. Not to my liking

Performance: Pretty Good like other Kaafs

Aqua Oud by Ahmed Al Maghribi- 6/10

I'm not a fan of the Dior Sauvage DNA, but the twist makes it more enjoyable to me. Only wish it lasted longer

Starts off with a very nice Apple skin and Apple Flesh smell; 70% Skin 30% flesh and also has a hint of ginger not munch and the dry down is nice Berries and Vetiverish and yup a bit sweet

in AC projects for 1.5 hrs very nicely, if sprayed 8-9 sprays you'd say semi beast mode ngl. And lasts 5 hrs for me has a sillage for 3.5 hrs neatly. At 4th and 5th it becomes a very close scent bubble

2. LA VIBES — By Ababel

Scent Profile

OH BOI 🫠 The citrus in this are SPARKLING ✨ such a beautiful opening I'd have a n0segasm. And the ginger AND ESPECIALLY the Orange And Lime it's ALIVE!! Then it turns into floral and musky. All weather frag, evening preffered.

The DNA of Most wanted Elixer and yup I've tried most wanted Elixer in shoppers stop and trust me I'm shocked how these ppl giving this in 350 🥀 There are not so many differences considering price. It opens with such raspberry that if you cut it in half and put the inside flesh side near nose... Then it goes into some beautiful cardamom seed, yup I get the seed smell more than the skin (green wala) and then again into beautiful leather and vetiver. For a bit colder summer night or cloudy summer night or party where AC there, this sooo good

easy 7 hrs and projects above moderate and below semi beast type for 1.2-1.5 hrs

5. OLD MONEY — Arabian Aroma

nothing mind blowing but at the same time nothing disappointing. You get that nutty and cinnamon opening that goes into Date ka smell and Syrupy vanilla. you know that cough syrup powder sachet where you have to mix with distil water you get some powdery particle kind of smell from it has that particles smell but vennila particle kind of. If anybody has the perfume I think they can understand.

2.5 hrs easy in AC. And lasts omg 9 hrs indoors ig, I did not use this since Feb, and I got this in December and I was getting like 8hrs minimum in feb. I am sure it is improved now cuz it's a bit more matured

6. CODE TERRA — By Wildestone

I tried Fattan from a friend but i like this moreee, this has a bit more elements i believe. The black pepper spice after few mins of spraying IM IN LOVE WITH THAT PEPPER and the very Shanti and serene feeling dilane Oakmoss and Vetiver and a bit woddy. in da upcoming monsoon I am going to complete this bottle 🎀

4 hrs max and projects for 40 mins. But the scent profile TRUST ME got me 2 compliments from people I offered lift in this Summer heat.

15. GOD OF FIRE — By MasterPerfumer

controversial but this is the best "unique" summer signature scent. While everybody are trying to smell like Citrus you will smell something the Indian olfactory mostly loves that is 60% green mango that is 40% ripen inside THAT SMELL. You know those mangoes that fall because of rain or gust and are half ripen. Mix that with some lemon and Ginger(very less) that is the opening and you will have some nice florals in the mid and then you will have some nice Woody~mangoy dry down BEAUTIFUL

Longevity

6-6.5 hrs and projects for 1.2-1.5 hrs easily. ~you have to let this frag settle and mature for at least one month 🙃 only then you will get this performance and even the smell profile.

Formal but has seggs appeal to it, love this, might remind you of D&G The One. It has a very nice Orange blossom opening with Tulsi green fresh smell a little bit, and then it goes into nice woody, Like a wet log and ceaderwood too then into charred Tobaco leaf type smell soo sexy imo

Upto 7hrs and Projects for 1.5 hrs moderate people around you will be able to smell

Hey everyone! I am 30M and I live in Bangalore. I have made use of the fact that it is not as hot as the rest of the country in general and I do tend to stay in AC even then. I also travel to europe quite a lot so naturally I have a lot of fragrances which are supposed to be more suited to the cold weather. So a short review of all of these is as below :-

Sauvage Elixir - It is very spicy and woody, I personally love it and wear it when I am going to be out all day because it lasts that long. It is a ‘black trench coat with chelsea boots walking in a winter evening’ vibe

TF Ombre Leather EDP - The cleanest and I wanna say freshest leather fragrance I have smelled. I usually wear it when I am wearing leather jackets and doc martins with bootcut jeans. But it can be worn even in warmer weather in the evenings. Lasts about 8 hours for me.

Fahrenheit Le Parfum - Another one with amazing performance, easily 10 hours on skin with great projection for 2 hours. It is not something which everyone will like but I wear it for parties and going out for dinner with friends. Love the suede leather and vanilla combo on it.

TF Grey Vetiver EDP - This is my office fragrance. Very clean and sophisticated and lasts around 6 hours for me. This one is India summer friendly but won’t project too much.

Spicebomb extreme - This one is a gift and is the most recent so I haven’t tried it much yet. It does smell strong and very spice forward as the name suggests. Should be a great scent for winters when going out.

Sauvage EDP - This one I have used quite a bit and I love it! It is masculine, clean, fresh, and very versatile. Works well in Indian summer too. I will definitely refill it.

UCB colors black intenso - This one I bought on a whim because the bottle looked cool. Smells great, it is also spicy woody and smells a bit rich and dark. Doesn’t last more than 2 hours though.

Ferragamo Spicy Leather - Again, something spicy with leather. I love the saffron note on it along with suede leather.

Vince Camuto Terra Extreme - This one is a warm, boozy, gourmand fragrance and it is the favourite of my girlfriend. I am very proud of the fact that it is my find and it was quite affordable as well. I wear it for date nights.

lhomme Ideal EDP - This one again is something very unique with cherry and almond notes. I layer it with dior homme sport and it smells heavenly. I wear this for formal settings in the evening.

ADG EDP - I love the freshness and well, I needed something for Indian summers anyway. It lasts around 6-8 hours for me which is great. Also, I don’t like fruity fresh much so this is what I call marine fresh.

Gentleman Reserve Prive - This is the only Iris fragrance I have. Also a bit boozy and with vanilla. This was also a gift from my girlfriend so this is also a date night perfume for me.

Dior homme sport - Well, a fresh fragrance which I can wear whenever I want. It is EDT but still lasts for about 6 hours for me. This is for casual days out.

I've seen so many people saying this isn't an office friendly perfume and that it's only meant for evenings, parties, dates, etc. But honestly, I love this fragrance. It smells super manly, smoky, and surprisingly premium for the price.

So I decided to ignore the "office rules" made by random fragrance philosophers on the internet and wore it to work anyway.

Surprisingly, instead of getting complaints to HR, I actually got compliments

So I guess... this is office friendly after all. Great cheap perfume.

Ordered this 4x 15 ML combo set from menworks for around 1100₹ already have a few from them, this was my 3rd time shopping with them.

This time the delivery took 6 days generally the previous time it around in 3-4 days..

1. summer dive- dupe of LV afternoon swim citrusy orange and lemons never tried the OG but out of the 4 I ordered this one is most suitable for the current weather.

This doesn't last much though but smells very good even in outdoor heat. Generally using it in gym!

2. Bourbon Vanilla- Many people recommended this one on multiple posts of menworks , and again thanks to this community this is such a gem. Very very close to Azzaro MWP , toffee type caramel and lovely vanilla I get it guys why it's said to be the perfect date scent. Also the longest lasting one from this lot

3. The Bleu- another one bought on the suggestions of this community first I thought this one must be BDC from the name but this is YSL Y , green apple is very prominent and after drydown all you get is geranium in this one though when u smell the original this one smells like a more amped up version of it.

I personally don't like YSL Y DNA much .

4. Immense- clone of LV L immensite , very strong gingery opening, with very little citruses the grapefruit smells like a rotten one. It also has got that soapiness to it, cause of geranium? Maybe.kinda a masculine type of freshie that you can wear anywhere. It's good but not the best I have got from menworks

If anyone has tried the OG do let me know does the OG smells like it

2. Jpg le male elixir. Sweet and very edible 🤤

3. Azzaro wanted edp. Nicely fresh and woody

4. Valentino born in roma coral fantasy. Very fresh apple and warm tobacco.

5. Davidoff cool water intense. Fresh opening and settled into a calmer coconut 🤤🤤

6. Bvlgari man in black edp. Woody and smoky. Nice

7. Davidoff cool water edt. Classic , fresh , marine.

8. Banana republic neroli woods edp. Genuinely amazing fresh scent but very poor longevity.

9. ck in2u men edt. It's decent and woody. Not my type.

10. Perry Ellis america edt. Smells like a barbershop scent, almost like alcohol in the opening but nice dry down.

Recently I started collecting perfumes seriously and honestly this hobby became little addictive now I am still learning notes and all those fancy fragrance terms, but these are some perfumes from my collection which I genuinely enjoy wearing a lot, I know this may seem repetitive, but these five perfumes are my personal favorites.

Dior Sauvage - My Dior bottle is almost about to finish now and honestly I can understand why people hype this line so much, Smells fresh, rich and very smooth. Now I am searching for similar DNA perfumes because spending Dior money again hurts little. Will require suggestions from you guys.

BDC - Very classy and clean perfume. This is the type of fragrance which works everywhere without giving headache to anyone, Smells expensive in very simple way. Whenever I wear this, confidence automatically goes little up.

Afnan 9pm night out - This thing is actual monster, I have 9pm Night Out and even after 8-9 days, my wardrobe still has the fragrance trapped inside. Sweet vanilla vibe with crazy performance. Easily one of the best purchases in my collection till now.

Lattafa Asad- I honestly haven not used Asad too much yet, but every time I wear it I like it more. Very spicy, bold and strong type perfume. Feels proper winter/night scent. Dry down smells really amazing for the price, got it for 2k.

Stronger With You Absolutely - got it from Nykaa for abt ₹5700 Warm, sweet and addictive fragrance. Gives cozy late night drive vibes perfect for cold weather and date nights. this is one of those perfumes where you keep smelling your own clothes again and again.

I was using Rayhaan Pacific Aura for a while and honestly I liked it but always felt like something was missing. I even started layering it with other fresh fragrances trying to get that perfect airy marine fresh vibe but nothing fully clicked for me.

Rare Reef hit me differently right from the opening. That citron freshness is there but much smoother and more controlled compared to some other citrus heavy freshies that almost become too loud or sharp in the first 15 minutes.

What I liked most was the transition. After a bit it settles into this really clean oceanic marine scent that just feels easy to wear and natural. Feels like the fragrance I was trying to create myself by layering different bottles together.

• This is not my complete collection, these are the ones that I have in my PG currently, others I have kept at my brother's house. I'm tired of my neighbours constantly asking to borrow or use my fragrances.

• I'll review the rest of my collection some other day when I get a chance to visit my brother's house, then I'll click the picture and review those.

#Dior Sauvage EDP

This is my 2nd 100ml bottle, I also have another 200ml bottle just sitting in my collection (sealed pack). The only reason EDT & Parfum bottles aren't in this photo is because I finished them recently. What can I say, I absolutely love this fragrance. Even after wearing Percival, Aventus, Imagination, Myslf, Y edp, etc. for an extended period of time, I still fall back to this one. It just works the best with my personality and vibe. It even works like a deodorant for me, completely masks the BO, as if it was tailor made for my skin.

It smells like a luxury shower gel for men. You can literally wear it anywhere, anytime and in any weather. Even after being reformulated in 2025 the latest batches are just as potent as the older batches. The difference in the scent profile is mostly negligible, it retains about 98% of the same old DNA, just a few tweaks have been done which is only slightly noticeable up close. I think the new batches are even more suitable for India. The older ones were just a bit too spicy for peak summers.

• Longevity = 8-9 hours (skin), 14-15 hours (clothes)

#Versace Dylan Blue

This is probably one of the best Blue fragrances anybody could purchase, easy to wear and very pleasant smell as well. Not to mention that you can get a 100ml tester for ₹4,800. It delivers way more than its price.

• Longevity = 6-7 hours (skin), 8-9 hours (clothes)

#Prada Luna Rossa Carbon EDT

If you want a fragrance that actually smells like a luxury soap then buy this instead of Imagination. It is very well put together.

• Longevity = 5-6 hours

#Montblanc Explorer

I don't think this one needs much introduction, it is a designer version of Aventus, although it doesn't have that fruity sweetness of Aventus but it's still a very safe and a great option.

• Projection = 40 mins - 1 hour
• Longevity = 5-6 hours

#TUMI 19 Degree

This one might feel nostalgic for us Indians who were born between 1995-2005, it will remind you of those party wear perfumes / deo that we used to overspray to the max, lol.

In my opinion, it is a better leather fragrance than Ombre Leather.

• Projection = 1-1.5 hours
• Longevity = 6-7 hours

#Valentino Coral Fantasy

This is the only good fragrance Valentino has ever made. It is a very good fragrance for Monsoon, Winters, Party, Date, College, Office. Just 4-6 sprays and you're good to go.

• Projection = 1-1.5 hours
• Longevity = 7-8 hours

#Mancera Amore Caffé

You can guess how potent it is judging by how little juice has been used.

If I wanted to define this fragrance then I would say that you will smell like a walking, talking Café. If you live in a moderately humid place then get this one for dates, you'll mesmerize the other person.

Do not use it in places with high humidity or very dry winters, for these places use Mancera Coco Vanille instead.

• Projection = 2-3 hours
• Longevity = 8-9 hours (skin), 13-14 hours (clothes)

#Mercedes Benz Club Black EDT

This one might feel nostalgic as well to people in their early-mid 20s because it might remind you of those strong party wear perfumes we used to wear as teenagers.

It smells like smoked vanilla, the incense is very prominent and done in a beautiful way and the vanilla stays throughout even though the incense mellows as it reaches dry down.

This one I bought a while ago but I haven't used it much because the scent profile stays very harsh until it reaches dry down, then it becomes beautiful and compliments getting.

It's sweet, chocolaty, vanillic and the opening and mid contains a harshness that is caused by the Maninka note present in it.

Makes travelling much easier. Filled them up on my own. Makes re applying much easier especially when you’re hesitant about carrying the whole bottle.

So I decided to visit a local shop, they sell pure oil like rose, sandal wood etc in bulk. They also sell their own versions of perfumes but in bulk, but I managed to get a sample of Hawas Ice from them.

Costed like 30 ml for rs 650, now I have never nose tested a hawas Ice but the guy said, ours is better and smooth, I pretended like I know how the real one smells like. But when I nose tested, it actually good. No alcohol blast, just citrus aqua notes and it's good I can wear this in summer. But I don't even know if it's hawas Ice. But he said if I take the oil, it will last 12 hours plus or more easily. It's costly though.

The sticker was removed as I can't keep the hawas word at home.

Sandal wood oil smells like heaven.

Got this azzaro the most wanted parfum - 100 ml from nykaa man @ 6665 inr. People have gotten it for less so kindly do your due diligence before buying.

Scent profile-

The fragrance is a gourmand one which is meant only for winters or for date nights. Wouldn’t recommend it for summers as it’s dense. I like sweet fragrances so i pushed the button.

Basically the notes are of caramel, ginger, a hint of vanilla. The spiciness factor has been toned down to a very subtle trait. I have macerated this bottle but i get only 4-5 hours of longevity from 6-7 sprays. I’ll test the longevity again in winters. There is also a very light hint of chocolate. I tried this at an airport and then and there i made up my mind to purchase this absolute beauty.

Trust me, the ladies will love it on you. Wear it around your gf or someone whom you wanna impress. It isn’t harsh, but rather a sophisticated and seductive blend of ginger, caramel and vanilla. You can definitely wear it a date night. Perfect for the occasion.

Also got a 2ml vial of paco rabanne invictus victory absolu as a gift of which i later purchased the whole bottle.

Finally got my hands on the most hyped fragrance khamrah waha, to be honest I wasn't impressed and to me this is extremely overhyped.

Scentprofile is like it has lil salty and cucumber notes in the opening but only for 15-20 mins after that this feels like a toned down version of khamrah OG. It's like one spray of khamrah 😂 or diluted khamrah after the drydown. Isn't near anywhere close to Nautica voyage for people who are comparing it.

It has the same boozyness and warm notes after drydown though very subtle but isn't appropriate for the 45 degree weather here in north India.

If you have to buy it I would suggest to wait till September cause that's the weather you will be able to use it. It's a skip for me for now at this price

• Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Cobalt Électrique EDP :
Surprisingly good. Fresh, metallic, slightly sweet and way smoother than I expected from the Bad Boy line.
Easy dumb reach.

• Tom Ford Ombre Leather : Smells like walking into a luxury leather store wearing a suede jacket. Dark, masculine and unapologetically bold. Not for everyone but insanely addictive if it clicks with you.

• Dior Homme Intense: One of the smoothest designer fragrances ever made. Lipsticky iris done perfectly. Elegant, cozy and classy without trying too hard.

• Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP : Clean rich guy energy.
Very crisp, mature and professional. Doesn't scream for attention but smells extremely refined.

• Creed Green Irish Tweed : Smells like expensive soap and fresh greenery in the best way possible.
Timeless and ridiculously easy to wear.

• YSL La Nuit de L'Homme EDT : Still one of the sexiest date night fragrances ever. Soft spicy cardamom magic. Performance could be better but the scent itself is beautiful.

• YSL La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum : Darker, smoother and more mature than the EDT. Feels more dressed up and underrated honestly.

• JPG Le Male Le Parfum EDP Intense : Warm spicy vanilla bomb done right. Cozy, seductive and gets compliments for days.

• Burberry Hero Parfum Intense : Woody, smoky and masculine. Smells more mature and grounded compared to the EDT.

• Burberry Hero EDT : Fresh woody everyday scent.
Safe but very pleasant and easy to like.

• Pasha de Cartier Noir Absolu : Smells rich. Dark woods, resinous sweetness and old money vibes.
Super underrated.

• YSL MYSLF EDP : Clean modern masculine scent done properly. Nothing groundbreaking but ridiculously wearable.

• YSL Y Le Parfum: Probably the best balance in the Y line. Fresh, sweet and deep without being overly loud.

• Acqua Di Gio Parfum : Clean aquatic DNA with a darker smoother twist. Mature and versatile.

• Versace Blue Jeans : Old school in the best way possible. Cheap, nostalgic and weirdly charming.

Fresh but with depth. Has that signature watery Issey DNA while feeling smoother and richer.
