IMPORTANT - REGARDING UCEED SPOT ROUND AND PREVENTING SEAT WASTAGE (read body)

Last year around 17 seats went vacant in iiitdm only 49 people joined out of 66. And this year as well it is estimated more then 17 people might drop after round 5.

What can we actually do?

  1. Do withdraw your seat if you ain't planning to join.

  2. Write a mail demanding uceed office to host a spot round.

1st ain't working as people seem to not care for others. So we are going with writing emails regarding spot round.

You can dm me if you want to copy the same email.

(Btw I already got in, I am just doing it because seats are going while people are still waiting to join the institution )

Subject: Request for UCEED 2026 Spot Counseling Round

Respected UCEED Admissions Committee,

I am writing to respectfully request a spot counseling round following Round 5 of the seat allocation process.

Many candidates intend to withdraw their seats after the final regular round. Without a spot round, participating institutes face severe batch shortages. For example, last year IIITDM had 17 vacant seats (only 49 out of 66 joined), despite a large pool of waitlisted candidates eager for admission.

Conducting a spot round would prevent these valuable seats from going to waste and ensure institutes operate at full capacity. I kindly urge the committee to consider this addition to the counseling schedule.

Sincerely,

[Name]

[Your UCEED Roll Number if you wish to ]

Thanks a small help from your side might help a lot .

Is pursuing a Master's Degree in Design in IIT worth it?

Hello everyone. I have recently completed my Bachelors in Design in Animation from MIT Pune, and am looking to possibly continuing higher education. I am however, not "sold" on the idea of pursuing the same and only wish to do so from institutes where I can further expand on my skillset. Up until recently, I was eyeing NID and IIT Bombay as the only 2 options I was willing to apply, primarily because these institutes have excellent connections between faculties, students and the animation industry. However, I recently found out that the 2 year M.Des program in NID is kind of the same like how it was in my previous college, i.e., a crash course of what I learnt in 4 years of Bachelor's, just condensed into 2 years. Therefore, now I am kind of second guessing NID as an option.

I wanted to know if the Animation Program for Master's is the same in IITs as well or if it is differently structured? If it is the same structure, I would then rather spend time polishing my portfolio for higher studies abroad (or the industry if it doesn't work out). I don't want to spend another 2 years relearning the same things I did in my bachelor's just with the brand of being an IIT or NID student. Any and all advice would be extremely helpful!

Best and affordable college for M Des

Hello, I have been working for almost 3 years as a product designer after doing my bachelors in computer applications. I want to learn more as I feel my basics still need improvement. I'm thinking of doing mdes from any good university. I shortlisted UPES, bennett etc cuz its relatively easy to get admission in but they are very expensive. Is there any good university where we can also get scholarships or tuition fees is relatively less? UPES looks like the best option to learn a lot but there are lots of negative reviews, on top of it is very expensive. HELP PLS.
