Is DMC netflix safe or not?

Do you think that DMC Netflix is in the safe zone of the adaptation?

In general basically, of course we can say that the story and source material was altered and being questionable. But do you think in general, that NETFLIX DMC is safe from the Hollywood nonsense like how Adi Shankar said in his interview?

Personally, I think it is not screwed. Is it the best adaptation? Maybe not, but is it cool and decent adaptation? I can say yes on that. But what do you guys think?

Will the show (S2) be nominated for Best Videogame Adaptation?

As we know NDMC S1 was nominated for Best Videogame Adaptation in The Game Awards 2025, and although I dislike the first season, the competitors last year were so bad that I'm still surprised NDMC didn't won.

S2 was (in MY opinion) way better, but unfortunately we had a lot of good game adaptations this year and a lot to still come: Super Mario Galaxy, Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Iron Lung, Sekiro and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 are some of the main and stronger names to be nominated. Honestly I think there will be no chance for DMC this time, not only we have three insane blockbusters, an indie but also Edgerunners 2, that if it maintains the quality of the first season it will not leave a chance for NDMC.

What so you think? We have a chance of being nominated? Perhaps win the category?

Wait so how did Vergil know that Dante and Lady had a thing for each other?

I'm just now rewatching season 2 and I don't know if I missed something, but do Vergil and Dante have that psychic connection some twins/siblings have, or was he perhaps spying on them? Maybe he could sense a physical reaction? I was just a little confused after that scene where he first interacts with Lady.

DARKCOM is trash, but...

Nell Goldstein, the Psychiatrist that interviewed Dante and Lady, and Tom the QB who got recruited were the only bright spots in DARKCOM before the whole organization was exposed and shuttered. If Season 3 comes around, I wouldn't mind if these three popped up here and there.

Crazy theory but wouldn't it make sense for Lady to be a child soldier in hindsight?

I know there hasn't been explicit confirmation about their ages in the show, but being a Lieutenant that young is kinda crazy, even if Lady might be a bit older than Dante. Especially since she acts immature at times, it sort of makes sense. It's hard to get out of indoctrination when you're that young. Then again she was already pretty skilled in the flashbacks.

In Hindsight, Lucia was most likely in America because she was ALREADY looking for the Arcana's that Arius had already acquired before Season 2

Hot take: The DMC anime is still better than DMC2

This is the first time in my life I felt so strongly about an opinion no one seems to agree on me with and I question if I have gone mad.

To clarify, I don't like the DMC anime. I think it's hot garbage. With that said, I still firmly believe that DMC2 is the entire landfill.

I genuinely don't understand people who try to convince others that the anime is somehow worse than DMC2. Am I crazy for thinking that, as bad as the DMC anime is, it's starting to become a little overhated? Like yeah, it's bad, but it's not DMC2 bad. Like even if the show sucked it was atleast a little entertaining as apposed to a game that has the most boring gameplay imaginable lumped in with a story that makes **ZERO SENSE EVEN IF YOU YOU COULD CALL IT ONE.**

I feel like a lot of this comes down to recency bias. The anime is much more recent, while DMC2 came out all the way back in 2003, so I think people are starting to forget just how awful that game actually was. I've even seen people seriously compare the reboot to DMC2, and I'm just like, bro... **AT LEAST THE REBOOTS GAMEPLAY DOSNT MAKE ME WANT TO CLAW MY FACE OFF**

**DMC2 is literally just spam the shoot button until the enemy dies.** That's not even an exaggeration. 😭

The anime might be Netflix slop, but DMC2 is on an entirely different level of awful. I feel like people need to go back and actually replay DMC2 before putting it above the anime or the reboot.

Lmao I just can't...

We're talking about DMC3 "tries to kill Dante multiple times for no reason" Lady and DMC4-5 "sexual fanservice" Lady, right? Since those weirdos are mocking us for liking the Netflix adaptation, I'm gonna do the same to them. Dante from the games is overrated af, he's inconsistent as hell. Plus, I can't believe RE fans shit on the OG Leon Kennedy for being "inconsistent" when DANTE IS RIGHT THERE!

Will the series be bad for the average normie?

Dont know anything about the franchise. I just always listened to the dmc 3 theme song back when the game released.

Only watched the first episode and honestly thus far it looks very promising. Not a big fan of the Marvels/Disney type of dialoges this guy Dante has, but atleast all the killing and gore makes up for it.

Im however constantly reminded about all the shorts I watched prior to the series, where the consensus seemed to be that the series just isn't particularly good. Part of me feel demotivated investing time if I will probably be dissapointed lol
