He was phenomenal as Bhavesh loved his performance

Just finished Kajodu and honestly I was not expecting this level of content from a Gujarati web series at all. I didn’t even watch the trailer before starting it, but the first episode itself hooked me completely. It’s a 6-episode thriller on ShemarooMe starring Mitra Gadhavi and Esha Kansara, and every episode ends in a way that makes it impossible to stop watching.

The story starts with a man agreeing to an unusual marriage arrangement because of his personal and financial situation, but slowly the series reveals darker and more disturbing layers. What I liked the most is that the suspense feels natural instead of forced. The writing keeps giving small clues, but I genuinely couldn’t predict the plot till the end.

Mitra Gadhavi was excellent as Bhavesh. I’ve mostly seen him in fun and relatable roles before, so this performance really surprised me. Esha Kansara was equally good as Sonal because you never fully understand what her character is hiding.

The acting, atmosphere and overall storytelling felt very fresh for Gujarati OTT content. Definitely one of the better Gujarati thrillers I’ve watched recently.

My Secular rating - 2.5 / 5

Lessons I learnt:

1. If your prayers are not answered at Dwarkadhish, try some dargaah.

2. In marriages, photos of certain ideological figures not Hindu / Jain gods.

3. Jains are too materialistic.

4. Even though the hero's main focus of the movie is to seek forgiveness from his abandoned wife, the writer director gave good 30 minutes to dargaah sequence, 20 minutes to forced marriage sequence and 5 minutes to wife and 5 minutes to newly found son.
