We were taught to build our lives around work

Most of us were never really taught how to build a life that can hold a career. Instead, we were taught to build our lives around one.
I think we should be aiming for a meaningful life, not just meaningful work. Expecting a single job to carry our identity, purpose, stability, and self-worth all at once feels like a setup for disappointment.
