Gambit while paralysed

Hey! I've played marvel dice throne missions for the first time, and me and my friends had an amazing time, I highly recommend!

As for the question - without spoiling too much, on the third stage my Gambit got Paralysed via the paralyse token (that, if you do not know cause you don't have psylocke, makes it so you cannot gain or inflict any status tokens).

Can I obtain molecular acceleration while paralysed or not? On one hand it says "status effect", but on the other it is "unique" and cannot be addressed other than abilities and cards that specifically says so.

Bought a used game: are the cards important for playing

Edit: thank you all for your answers. Seems like it’s not actually part of the game, I’m glad because the rest of the game was in perfect condition, but as someone who never played dice throne before I had no idea about that.

I just got my first dice throne game. One character set and marvel missions. Everything in perfect condition, except that… these cards weren’t properly packed.

Now I’m new to the game and have no idea if the cards are actually part of the game, since they were just loosely thrown in the shipping box and not properly packaged.

Can someone with the game tell me if these cards are needed to play or even part of dice throne?

I was so excited to play the game and now that…

Question about status effects with defence rolls

So I was playing Black Widow the other day and lowkey questioning if I'm doing the defence phase wrongly for the usage of status effect during the opponent's offensive roll phase.

Let's say the opponent hits me 10 damage, defendable, & i have an agility token.

Do I...

A: Use Agility blocking 5 damage, and then roll defensive preventing additional 2, thus 3 damage taken

B: Roll defensive, preventing 2 before using Agility which blocks 4 damage, thus 4 damage taken

Anyone elses X-Men battle chest ship yet?

Ordered X-MEN battle chest on May 8 when they had the random restock and it has still yet to ship. Is this normal when ordering direct from dice throne?

Lineup help!

I am going to be in my first tournament this weekend, and I am very new to the game. I only have season one, and this is my lineup idea: Pyro, Monk, and Shadow Thief. Is this a good combo? If not, who should I sub in?

What team should I bring to close the age out?

I've got a couple teams that I have yet to bring that I feel are competitive and fun themed/named. I have already won once this age so just trying to have some fun. I have a solid grasp on DT. This is just what team do you like the most?

Red Rover, let my companion come over

- Raveness, Headless Horseman, Thor

Cursed Midnight Ops

- Cursed Pirate, Raveness, Black Widow

Good Ole Red, White and, Thor

- Pyromancer, Iceman, Thor

Transforming characters in DTA

Question about how transforming characters and the like work in DTA:

  1. If Pale Lady is transformed and defeats a minion, does she still "complete her turn" and lose a moon shards (transforming back if she runs out)?

  2. After Cursed Pirate flips, does she remain flipped for the remainder of the scenario?

  3. Does Jean Grey start on Jean Grey at the start of every new minion fight?

Question about timing of gaining/spending tokens during the offensive roll phase

For tokens that could be spent as attack modifiers, if you roll a result during your offensive roll phase that would cause you to overstack on that token type, do you have an opportunity to spend the token(s) before you gain more? As an example, if I'm playing Headless Horseman and have two Grim Pursuit, if I roll Ride Down do I have the opportunity to spend one Grim Pursuit before gaining the other two?

Can you remove status effect when it's played

For example Scarlet Witch activates 'Crackle' after attack ends, can I use 'buh bye' to remove it before it's activated

Lineup (Bring 3 Ban 1)

About to go into my first local tournament and was thinking of bringing these 3 characters: Black Widow, Gambit & Rogue. Any thoughts (could only get limited characters where im from)

And yes, I know many are going to be saying to play what you enjoy. I feel I enjoy all these characters and are generally comfortable with playing them so only question would be if they cover a good spread or do any characters counter them badly?

Starting new Adventures tomorrow

Starting a new Dice Throne Adventures tomorrow with my Wifebro, only playing a 2 player game.

She really wants to play the Raveness, though neither of us have tried that character yet.

Would I be better off playing as the Shadow Thief, The Paladin or the Monk?

Vanguard Strongbox - Retail Edition

Hi,
I’m kinda late to the party. Just started playing last month and i’m lucky that i have a SO that likes to play with me 4-5 evenings in the week.
Now i collected a few boxes, but obviously i was to late to pledge for Vanguard kickstarter. Will there be a Vanguard Strongbox Retail Edition in store like the outcast? Or are the hero only available as solo heroes and that i need to buy an empty box?

Thanks in advance and much love for this community!

NARAXUS now available

You can now download the NARAXUS Dragon fight from the Dice Throne website!

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0045/4013/7562/files/Naraxus\_Battle.pdf?v=1778800135

On the PDF is a QR code that leads to a one hour Ambience for the fight which includes taunts from the dragon.

https://youtu.be/ZzP01cTkneE

The pdf looks like it is 19.96 inch x 11.61 inch (507mm x 295mm) so it might be best to print on paper at least 11 inch x 17 inch (or A3+ paper) otherwise the text may be too small to read.

Just moved and reorganized my collection after adding Season 1... Love it!

Finally finished printing character boxes for the new ones, and I'm so pleased with how this setup looks and plays. Will probably reprint some of the rougher ones eventually, but most of the rough ones are only bad on one edge.

Holders are from Etsy Here, and the character boxes are on MakerWorld Here (were also on Etsy, but I can't find them there right now). I modified the character boxes by adding names in unique fonts and adding a third row to the back shelf of the play area that will hold dials.

I'm designing token holders for DTA that will fit in this system too, although I doubt it will work for the cards.

Edit: I posted a comment below with images from the inside of the character boxes!

Speed up koth

I really love this game, and i mostly enjoy playing with 3-4 players as it feels more engaging. But I feel like a match often drags on too long between turns. Do you have any tips to speed up the game? (Not just lowering starting HP lol)

Dice throne vanguard release date

Just saw the new update on the dice throne YT channel. Does this mean fulfillment for just the KS will be in a few weeks or doesn’t this mean I can start buying individual packs at my LGS as well?
