Invitations arrived without warning, hand-selected and delivered to alumni of Hope’s Peak Academy scattered across the world. Every expense was covered. Every arrangement carefully handled. All participants were instructed to gather at the boarding docks in Japan, where the Maiden Voyage awaited beneath glittering lights and the promise of paradise.

As for why they accepted the invitation in the first place? That remains a mystery. After all, how could they possibly remember? Their memories surrounding the voyage, the agreement, the conditions, the reason they boarded at all... had been wiped clean.
