New to using DH and chunky

Like the title says, im a noob when it comes to DH and chunky. Some say you shouldn't use chunky and others do. What I have done is to make a new world with a little modpack I made. Once I joined in i typed in the command to make chunky start doing its thing. It took some hours but the progress bar went away. After it went away I then installed DH and put the cpu load to agressive. How do I actually know if I have done things right? Thanks for reply

Specific chunks unloading when I get too far from them?

I've been messing around with DH and Tectonic, and in changing a setting in Tectonic and then reverting it, several chunks, always the same ones, unload after I get roughly 10-11 chunks from them. The ones around them and beyond them stay loaded, just these few unload. I've already tried updating the chunks by placing blocks, but no luck.

Any ideas what's causing this?

Issue with shaders and distant horizons

As the title states, I'm having an issue with shaders and horizons in combination. The shader I'm using is bliss shader through iris. As the image shows, when I look at distant water in certain directions it all turns black. I can make that black border move by changing my chunk render distance up and down, but can never get it to go away fully. It seems to be some issue with the water specifically as no other blocks do this. If anyone has seen a similar issue and has a fix I'd really appreciate it as it really kills the immersion that distant horizons brings. I'm very new to java Minecraft (just got it last week) and modding in general. Thanks in advance.

New to Distant Horizons and Modded Minecraft; need help

Hello all,

As the title states I am trying out distant horizons to try and make my game look better. I notice the mod doesn't really generate chunks unless you explore them so it doesnt look great unless you do so. I tried using Chunky but /chunky doesn't load any commands and I get an error everytime. I am using the curse forge launcher on Fabric.

Thanks!

Quick CPU question!

Currently, I'm on an old pc gifted to me by my sister, it has a very old cpu: being the i3 3220, I'm wondering if the i5 3470 would be good enough to tun DH on 1.20.1?

i specifically chose the i5 3470 because my motherboard supports up to 3rd gen and i can't afford anything else (i am a broke teenager in a country where the age of employment is 18.)

Basically I am playing realm with my friend and I am using DH on fabric through curseforge along side iris and sodium, for some reason I went to my friend house on the hill and I am seeing what ever it is on the screenshot. How do I fix this I do not want to see this farland looking thing.

Weird interaction of Distant Horizons and shader, sometimes not rendering large chunks of water

I'm running 26.1 on fabric, with latest versions of Iris for shaders (BSL) and Distant Horizons, with Sodium, Xaeros, and that's it for mods.

Sopmetimes when I look at distant water it looks totally normal and fine, but if I change my view angle just slightly enormous swaths of the water disappear and it looks really bad.

Here is another example. Water there. Water gone.

Fiddling with the vanilla render distance does appear to extend the cutoff range very slightly (it's not 1:1) but I couldn't find any setting that fixed it. What's so weird is it is so sensitive to the exact angle you're looking at, and sometimes looking more directly at it helps and sometimes looking more directly at it makes it disappear. I'm stumped.
