You wonder why the goonerslop and favoritism has exacerbated over time, because the mentally deranged people behind it are encouraging the enshittification of the writing. • Lake’s parental issues projected onto Spencer plot line guarantees her longevity in the story (She reaches Logan levels by the jury episode).
• Natalia outlives Tom and Gabby after they milked their characters completely. Ren and Fiore are scapegoated for her (She slowly becomes DC4 Anastasia).
• Oliwia's victim blaming arc against Ren succeeds. Nura (she's also victim blaming Ren so deserved) and Benji are scapegoated for her (she becomes worse than Gabby by the jury episode).
• Sam outlives Spencer because Lake gets her Hannah moment during the final 5, right before the jury episode. They kiss, and he supports Sam during the jury vote, even though their whole love plot line was mangled, unhealthy, and borderline derogatory for yaoi purposes (anything but writing good mlm).
