i got kinda lazy to rewatch the entire season (i didn't watch the season when it aired either, and this time, only finished about 60% of it), and am well aware that not every character is discussed. however, that is simply the consequence of having such a lackluster cast in general.
apologies if these ones aren't as in-depth as the DCAS ones, but i simply just don't have as much to say.
In my opinion, Dan and Grett would replace Tom and Gabby; Tess and Hunter would replace Aiden and Ally; and the fourth "Carnival of Chaos" contestant (joining Benji, Spencer, and Natalia) would be a wildcard.
Long live Spenrosa.
do you guys think Alec does Ramadan? also do you guys also think that hes Muslim (NOT Arab)
Genuinely it makes me so sad what could've been. The amount of times Rosa actually wanted to work with Spencer and do what he suggested, just for Lake to talk her out of it is insane. Lake, respectfully, if you want to keep playing the game all 'nicely' or whatever, keep it to yourself. Don't drag Rosa into it. Besides, why come for a show with a prize of 1 million dollars without being willing to do whatever it takes to win? The power of friendship is NOT going to take you to the finale, Lake. Being smart will.
Now imagine if Lake weren't there to block Rosa from getting closer to Spencer. Even with the whole Samcer plot, I 100% believe him and Rosa would be running the game on the favourites team, at least before Sam joins them for merge. Think about it. With Spencer's brain and Rosa's nice, charismatic personality, the two would be unstoppable. Nobody would see it coming.
Even if the ship didn't become canon, I would’ve LOVED to see the two work together. Honestly it feels like that was what ONC was going for based on the earlier episodes, before throwing it all out the window just to make Rosa a support character for Lake's 'plot'. And for Spencer to be part of another yaoi plot AGAIN. I'm starting to see a very obvious pattern here...
What I feel about Spencer and Rosa is also kind of the same for Ara and Finn, who I was hoping would be a mastermind, manipulative duo before the season aired (though we all know how that went)
I'm genuinely hoping Rosa and Spencer come back for another season without Lake. PLEASE ONC I NEED them as a duo 😭🙏 They don't even need to be a couple I just need to see them together 🥀
Every single character left and their grandma agreeing that he's dangerous and that he's too good at the game but still wasting votes on Rosa and Spencer bro I can't
>!Those of you who know me are well aware of the issues I have with Disventure Camp, but hearing the news of the latest episode was the final straw. I wanted to believe ONC could just once do the right thing. I SO BADLY wanted to watch Rosa Maria prevail over Natalia, she had every justification in the world to defeat her, but instead, ONC sticks with their usual tactics, and gives the last laugh to Natalia, in a season where she has already been getting her way with everything. There was absolutely NO excuse for Rosa Maria to go before Natalia, it's a complete and total disservice to the story they were trying to create with Rosa, and it's a complete disservice to Rosa Maria's character in general. Not only Natalia, but Tom and Gabby are still here over her for no reason.!<
>!Rosa Maria was singlehandedly carrying FvF and with her gone, any and all interest I had in the show has been completely shattered. I decided to not watch the latest episode, and will never watch another episode again. It's clear that Odd Nation will never ever write a satisfying story, and will only ever do what they please, which is catering to the villains and screenhogs who do not deserve the spotlight. It was obvious enough when they played favorites in DCAS, and I stuck around to watch my favorites in FvF, only for this to happen. Not taking any more chances with this horrible show. Enough is enough, and I am all done with it for good.!<
So, the three people I ranked as most safe all somehow managed to win immunity AND someone in Severe Risk was voted out AND I was right that Benji joined Nura/Oliwia? Damn, I cooked good with that last prediction. Initially I thought "am I going too far putting the entire performance trio in No Risk?" but I'm so glad I ignored that voice in the back of my head. I have enough voices in my head, thank you very much.
But more importantly, someone from Cyan finally bit the dust. It has been a LOOOONG time coming, but now that one of them is gone we're getting closer to a worthy Final 10. Sucks that we lost the best member of that alliance though. There's just one (out of two) more person that needs to be cut for that to happen. And if you've been reading my predictions for the past several episodes, you know damn well who I'm talking about.
NO RISK
LAKE - Moves UP from Moderate Risk. With Rosa's elimination, Lake gets the eliminated friend boost she needed. I think out of all the Season 1 and 2 characters, Lake is far and away the most likely to make it to the Final 4. And with her being the last Gen 2 character standing, she is probably safe until we get to Episode 20 at least. Let's just hope she puts aside her terrible conflict with Spencer, because she's becoming worse with each episode.
BENJI - No Change. Remember how we all thought Benji was going to take down Jade after the Team Swap in CoC. Yeah, this is what we were expecting from him instead of dump truck ass man. He is now in the power position for the next elimination and I see no reason why he would go right now after starting two new dynamics with Nura and Oliwia. As for Schrodinger's Idol, as far as I'm concerned, if by Episode 19 (which appears to be an auction Episode) we haven't been introduced to a new idol, I'm going to assume Benji will be using one of the idol halves. We only had a single idol play in Episode 6. Sorry, but ONC doesn't have the self-control to not have an idol play for 20 full episodes. Or go an entire season without one being used successfully. I was honestly surprised one didn't get played during either season of TomJake.
"Jake, do you take Tom to be your husband."
"I do."
"And Tom, do you take Jake to be your husband."
"Iiiiiiiii am going to play my idol."
*Weird Route jingle plays
"Alright, Jake I've tallied the votes-"
"WHAT VOTES?"
"-and it appears you will be marrying Hunter."
"But I'm supposed to marry- wait, Hunter, do you still have your remake personality, but your All-Stars body?"
"Yeah..."
"Okay, I'm fine with this arrangement. Tom have fun in Fans vs Favorites."
I think I got sidetracked, but you get the point. Benji is safe.
SPENCER - No Change. He received the second highest number of votes, which almost always coincides with not getting eliminated in the subsequent episodes. Benji and Natalia's alliances aren't going to target him right now. And Lake can't really afford to get rid of him now. Plus, with his store-brand AleHeather dynamic with Sam having yet to reach its apex, I don't see him going next episode.
SAM - No Change. He's getting dangerously close to falling out of this tier for the first time all season. He has no power in the game and he's just added Natalia and Fiore to his haters list, and now that they're in the majority with the rest of the Fans, he's in a tough spot going forward. Especially considering he has no true allies. His relationship with Spencer and the need for more exposition from him is enough to keep him here for this episode, but there's a decent chance he falls into Mild Risk after next episode. Also, bro lost a puzzle contest to a child. His coworkers are never going to let him live that down.
MILD RISK
NURA - No Change. She and Oliwia are right on the edge of Mild and No Risk, but I'm going to air on the side of caution and keep them here for now. The new dynamic with Benji is a good boost to her odds and they make a good duo. And while I'm at it, her more recent dynamics have made her significantly more likeable to me. Crazy how her worst dynamic this season has been Dunia (boo all you want, you know I'm right)
OLIWIA - No Change. Similar to Nura, I'm fairly confident Oliwia survives Episode 17. She's like a capybara, no serious natural enemies, but anyone could get rid of her at anytime. After 17 is when things will get dicey for her. Especially if Tom/Gabby goes. But for now, the Benji/ Natalia deal should keep her safe. And Oliwia . . . while you've grown on me, you are not the victim in the Ren dynamic. You eliminated his friend and he got mad for a few hours. You are an adult. Get over it.
REN - Moves DOWN from No Risk. And now we reach the bottom five. AKA Natalia and her friends. Fortunately for Ren, he's connected far more to Fiore than Natalia. And with that dynamic still being so new, I'm doubtful he will be leaving next. Also "Demon Child" is overused. Cute the first two times and was a nice callback at the merge, but like most jokes ONC finds funny, they never know when to let it go.
FIORE - Moves DOWN from No Risk. I really enjoyed having her high in No Risk. But good things can't last forever. Fiore had a great episode. She came in clutch and won immunity for her alliance, she put Sam in his place and she was on the right side of the vote. And due to Benji, she is positioned to survive the next elimination. However, that's contingent on everything going according to plan. Which is rarely ONC's MO. Often a good performance can precede an elimination. But in Fiore's case, her dynamic with Ren still being so new is enough for me to keep her out of Moderate Risk.
MODERATE RISK
NATALIA - Moves DOWN from NO RISK. The drama queen has switched places with Lake. Going from the most safe to bottom 3. Yikes. As I've said with Fiore and Ren, Natalia should be safe if everything with Benji goes as planned. However, with Benji setting his sights on Tom, I'm doubtful Natalia will simply let that play out. If she's going to use her fake idol, my guess is now is the time. She could attempt to use it to persuade Benji to target someone other than Tom, only for Benji to realize it's a fake. How Benji will respond is up in the air, but if I had to guess, one of Gomtalia is doomed. Natalia is obviously the safest of the three due to her presence in the game, but after getting rid of Rosa and being the third wheel in her alliance, I'm not ruling out the idea that now is her time. Also, she'd be eliminated in Episode 17 just like CoC. On another note, Natalia has now lasted until at least Episode 17 in 2 seasons until she received a single vote. A feat no one else comes close to.
SEVERE RISK
TOM - No Change. WHAT? Tom in Severe Risk? Now THAT'S an original thought, huh? Okay, I know it's repetitive, but Benji called him out by name as his next target to eliminate and he has the numbers. What exactly am I supposed to do? For the Tom fan out there, take solace in the fact that him being called out by name makes me less inclined to think he'll go than if Benji had been more subtle.
GABBY - No Change. My lists feel like a jenga tower. For the most part, after a block is removed, not to much changes. But with Tom and Gabby once one of them leaves the whole thing will fall apart and we'll have to start from scratch. Tons of characters who are constantly in the upper tiers will move lower, one of Tom/Gabby will get to be in the higher tiers for a bit. It'll be far more exciting putting these lists together instead of the tired "Tom and Gabby are at risk of leaving this time." shtick I've been doing for who knows how long now. But seriously, who else could it be this time if not Tom/Gabby. I feel like everyone in the upper two tiers has a valid reason to stay, and while I think there's some real risk for Natalia, she is still a major character this season. We also haven't lost a DC1 character since Episode 5. We are long past due for an elimination. I should probably say something about Gabby while I'm at it. She . . . is bad at puzzles. Is there anything hinting that it should be Gabby going next episode? Not really, but we could have said the same for Ally and Bruno and Ernesto. If ONC wants someone gone, they'll think up a contrivance to justify it.
CONTENDERS.
No big shakeups from last time since Rosa didn't have a chance of winning. I'll bump Lake ahead of Spencer, but she stays in the same tier. Not enough for me to consider her a serious contender yet.
its 3:30 am and im tired but i genuinely loathe every bit of this season
i can make a S4 one too but i do feel like i'd struggle with S1 + S2
Oh my god genuinely what is ONC doing?!
Why are >!Tom!< and >!Gabby!< still in? You’re telling me >!Rosa Maria!< had to go over them?!
>!Queen Mamasita!< was done dirty! Honestly I don’t know how many of these awful eliminations I can take! 😭
A possibilidade de que muitas pessoas cancelem sua inscrição no patreon são muito altas se Samcer for canonizado
Since the original series aired I've been following this series for some time and I've noticed something that been a problem since season 2 that needs to be addressed. It's that no villians outside of Fiore and Alec ever get punished or face any karma in this series.
Personally i think the original Disventure Camp nailed it in the original first season. Fiore was the main villian of that season and during the finale if she loses she crashes her car and loses her hair as well. If she wins she gets her money stolen from and gets hit by a bus. And also in All-stars we see Fiore was sent a Catholic boarding school. This is a great example of a villain character getting karma and getting punished.
Now on the opposite end take Alec, who is considered a villian and he gets extremely overly punished by the show. In fact Alec is quite literally the most suffered character in the show, and it's not even close. Alec was already having a hatd time wirh his family bwfore rhe show but after season 1 he came home to his family gone, unable to see his son and is getting dragged in court every month for child support and allamony. It's shown during All Stars Alec is very depressed, probably jobless and is possibly suicidal.
And at the end of All-stars he's shown to have grown and is trying to learn to move on in life and better himself, and now has Fiore who is probably the only person who cares about him. Come to this current season as soon as he steps onto thr island he is bullied by the majority of his team, he's gas lit by by some woman he's never met to thinking he's a horrible person for being on the show even though he's the one character at this point who absolutely needs the money the most and is voted off the first on his team. And again is gas lit into not even attempting to try and again and jusy gives up and effectively gets erased put of the show thinking he's a horrible person who hasn't changed at all and doesn't deserve to compete. Even though his whole arc during All-stars was him coming to terms with the fact that money won't bring his family back, and him realizing his flaws aa a person and tries to slowly better himself.
And the problem is that no other villians outside of Alec even get a fraction of his punishment and in fact get rewarded for being horrible people.
Yul is quite literally every ist and ism in the book, pushes old ladies down the stairs, is an abusive boyfriend and enjoys watchinf people in pain. He never develops as a person, doesn't learn anything, and never gets punished. He is actually rewarded with getting $10,000 is All-stars and he goes back to being an influencer who gets big sponsors. He got rewarded for being a bad person and didn't learn anything.
Riya is a manipulative person and girlfriend who actually tried to kill Aiden by shoving him off a cliff and tried to straight up cripple Conner on purpose and then laughed in his face about it. Not only does she win All-stars giving her three million dollars, but her acting career isn't affected at all. She got everything she wanted and more and didn't learn anything.
Trevor and Derick were to show host who destroyed the environment and wildlife to host their TV show. They only fot maybe three months in jail and went right back to being TV show host and then producers. They were bad people who got rewarded for being awful.
Emily straight up tried to kill the contestants on All-stars. Like full on premeditated murder she planned to kill people because she got fired from the show. What happened to her? Some very short prison time, a broken arm and a sob story and then she got to be host of the show. Bad person once again got everything she wanted with little to no punishment.
Annsasia recived no punishment for not only dislocating that one girls arm, but also any of her manipulative tactics in season 4. In fact got everything she wanted. She got her girlfriend, and the writers keep making her this know it all mary sue character who all the characters like and she gets to lecture everyone about how horrible they are and how wise and amazing she is and hiw she's a changed person who's so happy now. She doesn't even face any consequences for going against her alliance in season 5, it just gets easily forgiven.
So basically in the Disventure Camp universe you get rewarded for being a villian and being a horrible person. But if you're like Alec and actually want to better yourself you get severely punished.
To compare this series to Total Drama Island, the show they're making a parody of, every villian at the end of the season gets punished.
Heather got severely punished at the end of TDI by having to do a bunch of grueling challenges and getting her head shaved
Justin gets punished in TDA and constantly keeps getting hit in the face until his good looks start to make him uglier and he gegs constantly paranoid of his looks to where it drives him insane
Alejandro and Heather both get punished in TDWT, if either of them win their money gets stolen regardless and Alejandro gets crippled and covered in lava. Even Blainley gets crippled for just beinf a horrible person.
Both Scott and Lighting get punished in TDRI with Scott getting mauled into being in a trauma chair and even if Lighting wins he finds out his injuries are so bad he can't play football anymore.
TDPI Dave gets punished by getting blasted with a laser that fries all his hair off and since everyone forgets about it and hes left alone on the island wirh an angry mechanical bear.
My main point is one of the things Total Drama island did right was that they made an efforts to deliver karma to punish their villians to teach that there are consequences for being bad just to win a competition or to get money. Disventure Camp seems to be the opposite where all of their villians who do genuinely bad things get rewarded for it. Unless you're Alec and yoy want to improve yourself, in which case the writers will punish you for it.
