Denim Florentine Satchel

Celebrated the 250th with a Red Florentine satchel

I just got this off white Sorrento 30 with pockets during the I Love Dooney FIREWORKS sale and it arrived super fast!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Sorrento, but I am really happy with it for the $$ I paid … all in with tax and shipping she came to $150.46. I would definitely not pay regular price or even the regular sales price for a Sorrento as it came with some sloppy glazing, a small scuff (luckily on the back) and a small scratch on the metal Dooney patch. It’s going to see wear anyway so I’m fine with keeping it as is. And I have been wanting something white for a while now. I would usually wait for a light colored mini or micro Florentine to become available, but when I saw the sales price on the Sorrento, I thought the leather style might be a better option when dealing with maintenance and cleaning up marks and staining/color transfer anyway. (And at this price, if it gets some stains, it won’t hurt my heart too much!)

It is a bit larger than I hoped—lots of volume in this bag!—but when it’s not filled up, I can push the sides in to give it a slimmer profile look. This one is about 13” across the bottom, and I’m used to carrying something in the 10-11” width range so it definitely feels a little grand. But I LOVE the exterior pockets!! I really like an exterior pocket on my bags for my phone when shopping and with this one I can easily slip my iPhone 17 Pro with case in the back pocket (though the phone is longer than the pocket depth, so the top inch or so of the phone sticks out).

Here she is dressed up in two looks. I really like the dinosaur look (charms from Amazon)! I will probably mostly wear it with that. I really love the Toy Story charms but those charms make a lot of clunking noises and make the bag feel extra heavy. On its own, the bag isn’t a bad size or weight, but it is about the largest bag I’m willing to carry anymore. It’s a bit of a behemoth next to my Micro Florentine. I do like the strap that came with it—it seems comfortable to wear, though I may use a webbed strap on days where I am carrying it a lot.

Hope these details help anyone on the fence about ordering a Sorrento during this sale. I say go for it!

Is the leather on this dry, overly stiff and fragile? It looks and feels that way to me. Beyond saving?

Heat Stamp/Embossed logo Dooney, not green tag

I asked seller if this was a usable bag and if the leather was fragile. They responded that it is very usable and very pliable. When I asked them about the dryness/stiffness today they tell me the bag was listed at a lower grade than what they told me before and that it needs to be used and handled to soften up.

Is what they say true that it will soften over time? I’m thinking these cracks will get worse with use. Almost like this bag was never used and forgotten about, sadly.

Is this just the nature of these bags? I’ll admit it is my first of this style. I know it’s supposed to be on the stiff side, but HOW stiff?

Can’t do any testing because I may return this. Worth having a leather shop look at it maybe?

Hi everyone! I have never owned a Dooney so this is uncharted territory, but when I saw her in the thrift store on another shoppers arm! (I just heard you gasp! Yes, I know the audacity of them!) Just gorgeous color! Now before you applaud at my implied restraint, if this had been a Coach, I probably would've mimicked the behavior of a honey badger and thus probably starred in quite the interesting Dateline episode. (joking of course) I digress, I saw a bright pink leather one on the racks, but decided it just wasn't meant to be and walked the rest of the store. As I was leaving, there she was back on the rack. I did as much research as as possible while in store with a migraine starting. Could you guys help? She was about $25. How do I clean her? Was that worth it? Model? Did I get a diamond in the rough or rubbish? I think it would be pretty cool if I could clean her up and gift her to my mom. * handles are in immaculate condition Thanks!

I purchased this bag many years ago 🫣 I have MANY bags I’ve never carried and this is one of them 🤗 I got her out & thought what a waste not to show off 🥹 I HATE HER 😫 I can’t imagine why they didn’t put feet on her and she is SO STIFF & BULKY 🫣 Thoughts 💭

I just purchased this vintage red satchel and it feels off. Want to make sure it’s authentic.

I am comparing it to my TWO auth navy/black ones here are the differences I note:

The navy ones don’t have cut tag, red tag is cut (might explain the differences?)
Stitching more yellow on the red
Leather trim cheaper feeling on the red
Red bag is taller but same width
The buckle on red crossbody strap is stamped horribly
Stitching on straps are different

Everything else is generally the same
Duck logo is sewn on, hardware grommets inside stamped Dooney
Interiors the same on all besides cut tag

Is the red just a cheaper made outlet bag?? Need to know so I can return if it’s fake. Tbh a really good fake if it is. I paid too much for this to be fake though 😂

A few days ago I ordered a bag charm from Poshmark. It came super fast (the seller was two towns over), and I am super satisfied. Today I get another package from that same seller, and it was this beautiful Dooney bag. I don’t think she meant to send this to me so I messaged her so I can send it back. But now I’m super bummed because I’ve laid eyes on such a pretty bag and I can’t keep it lol.

I recently bought 2 zip zip satchel in this Art Deco print, so I dont need these 2 luna bags. I changed the straps (still dooney straps) to make them adjustable and have a longer drop length. Any idea where would be the best place to sell these 2?

Was looking around Marshall’s today for some DB and saw these two bags which had the same exact color and upc number but as you can see they look quite different.

They came from different lots so I’m sure the leather came from different sources but it shocked me how they looked like completely different colors (I thought one was chestnut and one was natural)

Has anyone ever seen these with all red interior, no green collar? The bag is from Ilovedooney-fair condition
