Is there any way to get my robot to notify me of a clog like this?

I have a big dog who sheds a lot of hair. And I run my vacuum every single day. Every once in awhile I will come check on it because I know this is going to happen but the robot never notifies me. A lot of hair will get stuck in the port that feeds the vacuum bag inside of the base. Then, nothing can empty from the robot into the base and it just piles up inside of the robot and gets compacted. Is there no setting to let me know this is all blocked and nothing is being evacuated from the robot into the base?

Dreame matrix 10 nightmare after switching from Roborock..is this normal?

Title:
Six months ago I upgraded from a Roborock Curve, hoping for better cleaning. Instead I’ve been stuck troubleshooting nonstop. I maintain my robot pretty well and cleaned the sensors wash boards and played around with the settings as well making sure nothing is blocking my vinyl floors. It’s a 1300 ft.² room that I m trying to automate cleaning for every night using the clean genius setting. I have a few area rugs, but besides that it’s a very basic and open space with no blocking toys or anything. My Roborock curve did fine in this area and didn’t take as long to clean as it did.

The issues, in order:
Corrupted maps — robot refuses to leave its starting room. House is cleaned nightly, floors are clear, robot is maintained on schedule. Nothing physical is blocking it. I have deleted and re-created Maps 3 or four times now in the last few months since I got it.

Additionally, it would leave crumbs and take nine hours to clean overnight on the clean genius setting.

“Fixed” it with a firmware update — support pushed an upgrade, which solved nothing and introduced new problems:

Adnormal water in the washboard/mop plate constantly. I cleaned the water base a few times but it keeps happening.

Support experience: Every ticket gets the same shallow response from the technical team after reviewing the logs ..they check one night’s logs, declare the mop “working fine,” and suggest blocked sensors or a dirty filter. Both already ruled out. No deeper diagnostic, no escalation.

Where I’m at: Paid a premium price expecting a step up from Roborock and got a less reliable robot with more manual babysitting.

Wondering if:
Others with this model hit the same mop/rug/water issues

Anyone got Dreame to actually escalate past tier-1 support

This is a hardware defect worth pushing for a replacement/refund instead

Would rather not go back to manually vacuuming rugs every time it face-plants at the threshold. Any advice appreciated.

And when did with these issues would have been done?

Dreame l50 ultra problem

I have a new l50 ultra for over a month. It's been great. The only issue I have is often when I open tbt app to start a cleaning cycle it says "device is offline" when the device is most definitely online. In perfect WiFi signal and the LEDs are on the device and charger. What could be causing this? It's driving me insane!

Stops cleaning and just sits there

Hiya!

I have been using the matrix 10 for about 2 months now. All worked well so far. But recently a problem appeared that i dont know how to handle. I start the cleaning with a shortcut. It starts, does the first room, then goes to swap the mops, remives the ones he used, the station delivers the new mops, and then the robot just sits there. It does not pick up the mops and does not continue with the other rooms. It is repeatable. I am on the latest firmware.

Robot is clean, no visible problems of any kind.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The cleaning performance of the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra that reviewers don’t tell you about

hello. every one

I spent a huge amount of time watching Vacuum Wars and countless YouTube reviews before deciding on the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra. I compared everything carefully and ultimately chose Dreame.

Honestly, I regret it enormously.
The Ecovacs I used before this was actually much better at cleaning.

The Dreame is simply terrible. The side reach barely ever works, and it doesn’t properly clean along walls or edges at all.

I contacted Dreame’s customer support, and they told me that everything was supposedly caused by my settings. So I followed every single thing their customer support instructed me to do, but the robot is still incredibly stupid and continues to completely ignore the edges and walls.

I live in Japan, so if you’re considering buying a Dreame robot vacuum in Japan, please watch my video all the way to the end before making your decision.

The Dreame robot is terrible, and Dreame’s customer support is even worse.

They asked me to send the robot in so they could inspect it, but they provided no replacement unit whatsoever and couldn’t even tell me when the inspection would be completed.

Their email responses are always extremely slow, and when I call them, all I get is an apology. They don’t provide any useful information or a clear solution.
In the end, buying this Dreame feels like throwing nearly ¥100,000 straight into the trash while signing yourself up for all this stress.

I don’t speak English, so I had GPT translate this for me. Please forgive my ignorance. This is the original text.

Please help me choose - small townhouse

ALL REDUCED TO UNDER $700AUD (and pretty much cheaper/cheapest pricing tracked with CamelCamelCamel).

I've been reading this forum for a while now and stalking AmazonAU for a Roborock or Dreame vacuum. Roborock aren't giving me any of my likes reduced into my price range but today, Dreame is flashing so many in front of me!!!

I have a small townhouse and will only over be used on the ground floor. My bedroom is low pile carpet and the remaining floor for the entry, living, etc space is large (50cm) tiles which I can only described as 'textured' and a very low pile IKEA rug. I have a Short-Haired, Smooth-Haired Dachshund who loves to shed and I reeeeeeeeeeally hate dog hair on the floor (yes, I see my own isssue here). I used to vacuum every day with my Dyson but I've injured my lower AND upper back with one surgery done and another to come, and completely struggle with vacuuming and mopping. I have a cleaner come to do a basic house clean but vacuum and mop the floors fortnightly and once a year, he also manually scrubs all the grout and edges.

I'm not overly concerned with either the robot vacuum mopping at all or just a lighter mop (i.e. not a scrub/spot) it is mainly the vacuum I really want for myself. Cords are not out and I pick up any dog toys with my grab bar.

SO, knowing what you know now with your own personal vacuum experiences and what I am wanting, what would be your pick if you were buying this one??

  • dreame L10s Ultra Gen3 dreame Robot Vacuum and Mop, 25,000PA Power Suction, MopExtend™ RoboSwing Technology, Self -Empty for 100 Days, Auto Mop Washing, Pet Zone Cleaning,App Control, All in one:
  • dreame D30 Ultra Robot Vacuum, Auto Vacuum & Mop, 25,000 Pa Suction Power, Dual Mop and Floor Cleaning,Carpet Detection,TriCut Brush Carpets & Pet Hair, App & Remote Control, Hands-Free Cleaning
  • dreame L40 Ultra AE Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, 19,000Pa Suction, Self Emptying Dust Box, Flexible Mop & 75℃ Self Cleaning Washboard, Diverse Brush Selection, All-in-One Station, Auto Refill

I honestly don't want to wait any more for better or roborock specials. This dog hair is sending me bonkers. VERY GRATEFUL for any responses.

Dog hair

Has anyone else experienced this? We have a German shepherd who is shedding now. Our L40 Ultra is leaving Clips of hair like this around the house. Is there a setting or Accessory that can help? We do have the detangling brush. Also, we live in Europe and trying to find original accessories/replacements is challenging. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Is this dream overkill for my 950sf apartment?

This Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 was 300 bucks refurbished with a 2 year warranty on ebay. I haven't opened it yet, the package is larger than I anticipated. I have hardwood, a very small kitchen and bathroom, and some rugs. 2 cats, which is why I wanted the thing. Wondering if I made a poor choice?

L60 Ultra PE after 30 days, a few things I noticed

Before getting L60 PE, I had a basic robot vac, but I still did most of the vacuuming by hand. I wanted something better suited to daily upkeep that could reduce how often I had to go over the floors myself. After a month, the biggest difference isn't that I no longer need to clean. It's that the floors get cleaned more regularly, before the dust, cat hair become noticeable. A few things have stood out to me so far:

Mapping and setup

Setting up the map and rooms took a little time at first. Since then, it's been easy to choose specific rooms and adjust the cleaning schedule. I haven't needed to change the map much.

Daily cleaning

The schedule has made the biggest difference. My partner recently asked how the floors were staying so clean when they hadn't seen me pull out the regular vac. I only use it about once every couple of weeks now, and that's enough to keep things clean. I can also change the cleaning mode in the app. I usually have it vacuum first and mop afterward since that seems to work better on my floors.

Hair on the brush

Pet hair and long hair were my main concerns. The brush has handled both better than I expected, though I still check it regularly. I barely find anything wrapped around the main brush. the side brush sometimes catches a few strands, but I take that as a sign it's getting into the corners lol

Maintenance

The annoying part of cleaning used to be all the little chores around it, like washing the mop, emptying the bin, or realizing I fogot to charge the vac and having to wait. L60 Ultra PE is much easier to keep up with coz the base empties the onboard bin and washes the mop pads. Most of what I do now is refill the clean water and clean the dirty water tank. I rinse that tank every time instead of only pouring the water out, then give it a thorough wash about once a week. Otherwise, a slimy film can start building up inside. I also checked the dust bag after a month, and it still doesn’t need replacing.

It hasn't removed cleaning from my life, but it has reduced how often I need to think about the floors. I still handle corners and furniture gaps during deeper cleaning.

Weird Map behaviour

So… my app does „this“ sometimes, quick fix is to restart the app but does anyone know why this might happen?

I had to remap and delete the backup from the map once, so maybe there’s still part of the backup left? Or because I flipped the map?

It’s really weird to understand what’s going on here

u/Viiinex — 3 days ago

Map erased

So it turns out my Dreame GoVac 400 automatically deleted my mapping on and won’t run on schedule. In the last week or so I had noticed it was going to areas not indicated in the map (for example, it would come vacuum the bedroom halfway while it running a scheduled vacuum task in the kitchen)

What could be happening? Device is 1 year and 1 week old.

Very disappointing - think before you purchase a Dreame

I purchased a Dreame L50 Pro Ultra for 1000 Euros and was initially very satisfied with the device. It cleaned my apartment really good and did not cause any issue.

After approximately one year, I updated the firmware (now it's on firmware 4.3.9_1911) of the device and suddenly the mopping was not working anymore.

I tried pinpointing the issue and found out the water from the dock is not being pumped to the robot. At the end it was easy to figure this out as I started the mop-washing and only the mopping function by setting the wetness to the highest setting. In both cases, no water was pumped to the base to the robot and the robot "mopped" through my apartment with dry mops.

During my phone call with the Dreame EU support, I explained them everything in detail. They wanted me to write them additionally an e-mail. So I sent them a message, describing everything in detail again, including pictures and videos. During my research, I found out that reinstalling the firmware might solve the issue. So I also asked them to just push the same firmware again onto my robot, but they declined.

Their tech recommended me to send the robot+base to their repair center. This was quite a hassle for me as I work in sales (I am mostly on the road) in completely different city than where my family lives. So I reluctantly agreed and stayed half a day at home for the courier to pick up the package.

After one month, I received my robot back again and you know what they have done? They just replaced some parts on the robot, claimed to have done an extensive function test and sent it back...

Of course the mopping function still does not work and no water is being pumped to the robot.

I contacted them again and they offered me a 20 Euro voucher for my hassle? Are you serious Dreame?

I asked them to send a video of the "extensive function test" conducted, but they won't answer to that. They simply say: "please send the device again for repair".

So anyone looking to buy a Dreame: The device itself works well but god forbid something does not work. Then you are exposed to their customer support which is a not a dream, but rather a nightmare and I don't wish anyone these hassles. Especially at this price point.

Does anyone know how to reinstall the firmware onto the device? I tried and soft- and hard reset before sending it for repair, but this did not help.

L50 Ultra AE terrible at avoiding cables?

Hello everyone,

what are you guys experienced with the L50 Ultra AE?

Today it ate through my phone charger and also drove right through my computer's charger, knocking it on the floor...

I "upgraded" from a L40 Ultra AE which has no issues avoiding cables so I must admit, I am a bit disappointed.

I also don't see any settings for "ai obstacle avoidance" in the app for the robot, only the default obstacle avoidance settings

Dreame X50 Ultra - Is it possible for a vacuum to gradually become dumb?

Hi, I have been using the Dreame X50 Ultra for the last 6 months and it was working perfectly from the beginning, yet it slowly became annoying and dumb in the last months.

Does anybody else have these issues I listed below or know if there is a possible fix? Otherwise, I will have to get a new vacuum cleaner...

Bumping into every obstacle

Dreame has been marketing the obstruction recognition capabilities like crazy. The vacuum cleaner casually runs over or bumps into every obstacle.

The vacuum always detected the laundry rack on the ground. Now it detects it, shows it in the app, yet still bumps into it - and it falls right on the vacuum cleaner.

It was not even able to detect a solid board that was leaning on the wall - it just straight pushed it until it fell on it again...

Does it not have LiDAR and "AI Camera"? Why does it bump into the obstacle even if it is detected and screenshotted in the app!

The widget is not refreshing

The widget on android shows that it was refreshed a few seconds ago, yet the data is incorrect. For example, widget says that the vacuum is washing mop, whilst it is already done cleaning and the mop is dried and even sanitized... I removed battery restrictions from the app and allowed it to run in the background - no success.

Vacuum shows as offline

The vacuum cleaner and the station are literally next to the router, yet I cannot access it in the app for some reason. The app has to be restarted multiple times before the vacuum cleaner shows as online.

Ignoring and making up thresholds

I have a 3 cm threshold that has a sharp edge. It was detected by vacuum cleaner and it always went over it perfectly. For the last months, it stops before the threshold, backs up a bit and then slams into the threshold at full speed before trying to climb over it.

And the other extreme is that the vacuum thinks that there is a threshold even though there is a few mm high transition strip that it can go over normally. I manually removed the threshold from the app - no help. It always uses its legs and slams right into the toilet ceramics. Sometimes it decides that there really is no threshold and goes to the toilet without any issue...

Not cleaning corners / near the straight walls

Tried both with collision-Avoidance mode on/off.

The vacuum simply decides that it will not clean the corners or near the walls for some reason. Even if the wall is perfectly straight and the corner is perfect 90 degrees. After a few weeks, I can see exactly what spots it is not cleaning.

Detecting rooms when there are not any

I have a closet, yet Dreame detects that there is another room behind it - literally makes me feel like there is Narnia - why is that? There is a mirror on the closet, but there are other mirrors in the house and it has no issues with them. It is annoying to remove / remap after every cleaning...

To sum it up, I don't really get why Dreame has a premium product with so many issues and the support does literally nothing as well as the developers - the vacuum did not receive any update for months. I also had to warranty claim the first piece as it was making weird water-boiling sounds immediately after unpacking.

Thank you very much!
