Can’t get camera uploads to work

I’ve paid for Dropbox for a decade and have never been able to get it to do its core function and back up the photos on my phone. So, today, I have 170000 pictures on my phone but every time I open Dropbox it shows it’s uploading from 129000 on but it never makes progress towards 170000 so I can’t delete pictures from my phone cause I can’t tell which photos are downloaded. I can assume the oldest photos but that doesn’t pass my spot checks. My phone is barely working cause of all the photos. I don’t know how to get Dropbox to work. Once it gets to 129000 the upload process runs at 1 or 2 pictures per hour. What can I do to help myself? My goal is to delete photos from my phone once I confirm they are safely stored in Dropbox. I have enough data from Dropbox to support the upload so why isn’t it happening?

"reconnecting to internet, this may take a moment..." still can sync files but message never goes away

This has happened for a couple days. I am on macOS 26.5.2 and Dropbox 258.4.3749 on a M5 Pro MacBook Pro. I've tried reinstalling Dropbox and updated macOS.

Dropbox doesn't reduce how much storage it says I'm using when I delete files (including permanently deleting from deleted files folder)

I uploaded some new files and went over the storage limit. So dropbox stopped syncing, fair enough. But now I have deleted all those new files, and a bunch of my old files, and gone into the deleted files folder and permanently deleted them, but it's still not syncing and is still saying I am using exactly as much storage as I was before deleting all those files. How do I get it working again?

Unable to open the "Hide or Show Folders" button

Is anyone else having this issue? The "Hide/Show folders button" on the desktop app is not responding or opening up the pop up window that allows me to check and uncheck folders I can see on my PC. I'm using Windows10.

The other buttons "Manage hard drive space" and "make available offline" still respond and open.

The dropbox customer service is effectively useless as apparently I'm only allowed to talk to an AI chatbot and it's no help.

I've already tried restarting the app, uninstalling and reinstalling it, and it hasn't made a difference.

Yesterday my dropbox started syncing this without my permission. i didnt do anything to it. this has happened before but withing a few hours it would be okay but not now. I have a Macbook.

I have tried to put everything offline and back to online, i have uninstalled it and installed it back again, i have tried all i know and it doesnt work. Please help. Although its not occupying disk space on my computer, it still wont let me sync other things. Do i really have to wait 4 days for this?

Deleted files

Dropbox deleted 8000 of my files as I was over the data limit. Is there a way that they can restore these? It's been over 30 days now.

I don’t want to lose my files

When I first created my Dropbox account and started my subscription through Apple. I need to change the payment method but its very frustrating and tedious to do through Apple. I want to go through Dropbox directly, however, to do that I have to cancel the subscription through Apple and wait until it runs out (6/27). However, like I said in the title, I want to make sure Dropbox doesn’t delete my files as I am well over the basic 2GB and I have a lot of sentimental photos on there. Will my files be at risk?

How Dropbox works inside Claude & Claude Cowork

Hey r/DropboxOfficial,

Ethan here, I’m a Product Manager at Dropbox working on our Claude integrations! I wanted to share a quick demo of how Dropbox works inside Claude and Claude Cowork to find project information, organize content, and share work with teammates.

In the video, I walk through a couple examples:

  • An architecture and design firm team using Claude to find project files, summarize key updates, draft a stakeholder feedback summary from content stored in Dropbox.
  • A marketing agency using Claude Cowork to organize project folders and workspaces, create a client-ready recap, and create a final deliverables folder so the team has a simple way to share the right client materials.

The goal is to help individuals and teams use AI with the files they already trust in Dropbox, then keep the results organized and ready to share.

Let us know if you want to see more videos like this on Reddit. Also curious what Dropbox + Claude workflows you’d want to try and any feedback that you have about the integrations!
