Turbo/built motor advice

Hi everybody. Im currently a year and some change into ownership of my '99 civic i saved from the crusher. I got it as a 100% stock non-running d16y8/auto car and have since got it running reliably enough to be a daily driver and it is now a 5 speed. Im getting ready to put it under the knife for the winter and pull the drivetrain back out to build either the y8 that's in it, or find a z6 and do a turbo build with full accessories. That said, is there any literature, articles, forum posts, etc that anyone used when building their d series? Im mechanically inclined enough to do all the work myself but building an engine will be a first for me and would appreciate some reference to figure out what the hell im doing. TIA!

My turbo project

Here is my WIP turbo project. So far not tuned or properly driven.
D14Z2 engine with stock bottom end
D16Z6 intake manifold
ARP headstuds
Aliexpress turbo manifold
T04E journal bearing turbo.
PSR 38mm wastegate
DIY 2.5" downpipe and screamer pipe
ECU is a Speeduino UA4C SeaFox, but still setting that up. Stuck on getting ignition to work properly right now.
Since the bottom end is stock, I'm aiming for 7psi boost and running the stock fuel pump. I will use D16Z6 240cc injectors.

It's not a mini-me, just a D16Z6 valve cover. But I plan on swapping over springs, cam and rocker assembly from the D16Z6 with locked vtec.

Need help with D15b7 with a D16y7 intake manifold

Am swapping in an older d15b7 motor cause i found one for cheap and am having trouble with the coolant bypass hoses and the iacv hoses not sure where these go. also need to figure out what hooks up to the back of the intake manifold where the nipple is sticking up thanks for the help

JDM D15B VTEC + D16Y8 Head Mini-Me — Which Cam Gear/Timing?

I have a 1999 Civic Si (Canadian), which originally came with a D16Y8. I blew the bottom end on the Y8 and found a steal on a complete JDM D15B VTEC engine.

I'm planning to do a Mini-Me swap using my D16Y8 head (P2J-7) and stock Y8 camshaft on the D15B block, which originally had a P08 head.

I have an adjustable cam gear, the original P08 cam gear, and the stock Y8 cam gear.

I've confirmed all three gears have 38 teeth, fit the Y8 camshaft, and sit at the same depth. However, when I line up the keyways, the P08 and Y8 gears have approximately half a tooth of difference in their indexing.

I've read about a 4.75° cam timing difference on D-series Mini-Me builds, but I'm not sure whether that applies to my specific JDM D15B VTEC block.

Has anyone run this exact combination? Should I use the P08 gear, Y8 gear, or adjustable gear? And does this setup actually require advancing or retarding the cam timing?

I'm keeping it naturally aspirated for now and just want to get the timing right before firing it up.

Any firsthand experience or verified measurements would be appreciated!

s20 swap

I want to swap the S40 transmission in my EK3 for an S20, but I’m not sure whether the P20 A000 or the P20 B000 is better; I gather the A000 from the EG3 is the one with the shorter gear ratios.

I found one online with 122,000 km for €200 is that the right one?

EPROM was flipped 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I have a small turbo d16y7 with a p06, my homie flipped the eprom chip. Obviously won’t start, won’t get ecu signal to relay or injectors, pretty sure I confirmed the ecu is cooked I took the jumper and chip out and still no dice. All capacitors have been replaced, do I to maybe replace IC chips? Or is it trash, I just care about the ecu itself

Tinny exhaust sound

Hey yall I just finished welding up a revel medallion exhaust I got off Facebook on my 94 d series del sol. It has this really annoying rasp or tinny noise at around 3k rpms. I’m thinking I might need a new or add another resonator. What do yall think?

Other relevant info:
I don’t have a intake (I will eventually)
I also installed a 400cfm cat
Piping is 2.5”
Exhaust header is a dc sports long tube
I had to weld an adapter to go from 1.75->2.5 in front of the cat
