Confused about all the different differentials available
Hey E39 crew. I am buying an E39 M5 from my buddy and it needs a rear differential and driveshaft. I'm looking to order one and diffsonline has a variety of different ones. It seems like the M Variable one is the least expensive but has a life expectancy of around 50k miles. The car is not going to be tracked and I was debating on increasing the rear ratio to 3.62:1 for better acceleration.
I'd love any advice on buying/where to buy a differential and driveshaft for that matter.
The car has been meticulously maintained but the front diff bushing went out and caused all the damage over time.
Appreciate your help
Setup: Apex Arc8 please help
Hi Guys,
I bought Apex Arc8 rims for my e39.
I cannot get the setup right.
I brought the rims to a special tyreshop toghether with 5mm spacers 4x.
Guy just gave me a ring that it just doesnt work.
I had bigger spacers before that were hubcentric but these are not.
He said that the wheels need to worked on so it will fit correctly. (Costs around 150.- per wheel)
Now i just have the problem i have severe vibrations in the car from 90-110kmph // 55/65miles that makes the car almost undriveable.
Does anyone of you have experiance with this?
Many thanks.
Hey I am looking for all 4 E39 M5 Lemans Blue door panels, do anyone have any for sale?
Not a nice one
I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. I’ve been trying to fix this thing up but at the end of the day I’m losing the battle. Switches, shades, door panels, light bulbs, and for fucksake the clips that break, panel gaps, squeaky hinges, actuators, etc., everything is deteriorating. My M5 was not loved before I bought it. I’m trying to accept and enjoy this thing for what it is, an awesome driving experience. I’m not Sreten, and I don’t want to pay someone like him. Anyone else fighting the good fight, but slowly losing the battle?
