Horrendous Self Team AI/Team Schemes or Sliders

I’m genuinely sick and tired of landing 30+ hits on the AI separating man from puck the entire game and my OWN team AIs refusing to skate towards the loose puck and pick it up

is there something sort of coaching or slider I can change to make it so my teams gives a fuck?
I included one clip below but I have THOUSANDS of clips of my own AIs bugging out and refusing to make plays defensively leading to goals Vilardi, Connor and Lauzon on this possession all bug out leading to the other team getting the puck down ice and scoring A) without skating and B) without completing a pass

and god forbid the AI defender breathes in your direction the puck will be INSTANTLY snatched from your stick 100 times out of 100

edit: NHL game also desperately need Icon switching defensively similarly to Icon passing, instead of just blindly spamming R2 hoping you get put on the correct defender, but hey at least “connected franchise” is back

The computer generated Teemu Selänne with Franchise potential in 2040

I’ve played Franchise Mode for years, racking up thousands of hours, but I’ve only rarely seen computer-generated players with the same name as a real player.

Today, I was looking at the stats at the end of the season, and my eyes were drawn to a computer-generated Teemu Selänne. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

Has anything similar happened to any of you?

2 year Update on Undrafted Stud: Won the Calder AND the Conn Smythe on his rookie season

After 2 seasons in the minors, he made his NHL debut as an 82 ovr. He had an impressive 66 points on his rookie season, and easily secured the Calder trophy.

Additionally, he was a key contributor in the playoff cup run, having 22 points in 24 games

Extended him to a team friendly deal before it was too late (8x7.6m)

Already winning multiple pieces of hardware in his first season, and looks like a sim menace.

His potential likelihood has gone up twice. He started at low elite His potential naturally went up to medium after a solid AHL rookie season. His potential has now went up again from the calder win season goal.

I switched his playstyle to playmaker from sniper since his puck skills were a lot better - his overall increased as a result.

Note that I do not play games, this was all sim.

I'm new to hockey and the NHL in general but I wanted to learn the sport through this game and I need advice

I am mostly a fan of the NFL, NBA, and MLB in that order. Im also slowly learning more about soccer but I also wanted to get into hockey. I learned sports through video games because I never got to play a lot of sports in real life due to my illness. Is this a good way to learn hockey?

How would you describe each team and what are they good at? Or is it like the NBA where almost all teams play the same way/similarly.

Im sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but answers are appreciated

Another NHL 14 Be A GM Save Completed

Simmed 99.9 percent of this save, playing more Top Prospects games than NHL games and only the one playoff series near the end.

Enjoyed this save a lot, tons of great storylines. Randomized selection of Tampa landed me the best team in Franchise mode to start with. Insane young prospect core rapidly turned into a world class team, Lundqvist being the largest part as he landed right in my lap in the first free agency of the game and winning six straight Vezina’s (but no cup for TBL). Broke the curse after Hank’s retirement but Tampa was frustrating to manage with rising player salary getting crazy. Decided to switch it up and go rebuild another team. SJ was nice, built a good physical team that eventually pulled it off. Decided to leave on a high and go try to replicate the process.

Fuck Columbus. They fired me after handing them a franchise 1C on a platter and their first playoff appearance in a decade.

Returned to SJ with open arms and a blank cheque. McDavid and the Anaheim Ducks had completely failed apart into nothing with zero cups so his trade value at 37 years old was very reasonable and I landed him for two first rounders. Proved to be the right decision as we went on to win a cup under his Conn Smythe performance. After McDavids retirement there wasnt much left to accomplish. The team pushed for three straight playoff years and just couldnt get it done. I played a 1st round series against STL and L. DOELL (the perennial best player in the league) and had the most fun in this game I think I’ve ever had even though it ended in a batshit crazy 7-6 OTL for me.

A Promising undrafted free agent?

He was a 19 year old 59 ovr OFD when I signed him as a low elite. I switched him to forward, then to a sniper since his def awareness was really bad. 1 year in the minors later, he is now a 72 ovr and his potential went up to MED Elite!

Offensive Tendy

Have never interviewed a tendy before, but i guess worrell is not a dangler

Im expecting some points in a few seasons out of him

X-Factor help?

Set his goal for the quick release 30 goal x-factor.

Hit 30 goals, simmed a week in game and it hasnt shown, usually it shows the next day once achieved.

Is it because I called him up to the NHL a few times to fill in for injuries? Does he now have to hit 30 goals jn the NHL? From what I've looked up that shouldn't affect it, anyone else have an issue or am I just a dum dum

Will there be an Offline Franchise Mode deep dive?

Do you guys think there’ll be an Offline Franchise Mode deep dive or was the Online Franchise the only Franchise related deep dive video that they’ll release? (I’m not expecting much either way but I’m still curious).

AHL contracts

If I don’t do anything except worry about my NHL team and contracts, does the CPU automatically fill up the AHL missing positions? Just curious before I dive into far

I may have forgotten to delete a custom player…

Wayne would be so disappointed that he’s in Calgary.. whoopsie!

Going into year 4 of the rebuild plan. How is the team looking

Expansion Quebec franchise

We’ve been mediocre to garbage the last 4 years and after attaining MANY top draft picks (and a shit ton of 2nd rounders via trade {most trade offers were made by the cpu believe it or not} which have been progressing in my system, and about to break the roster next year. A lot of my young guys are on cheap 3-5 year contracts for between 3-6 mil each, which has allowed me to not get too close to the cap floor or ceiling these past seasons, which has helped. About to sim the year, will share player totals after this season

Sim Engine gifted me a 21yo Celebrini

Went into the 2027 draft and saw that Celebrini was put into the trade block by SJ. I immediately went to the ‘Find Trade’ function and it gave me one option, trade away my 19yo franchise-medium defenseman and 20yo elite-medium left wing for a 21 year old Celebrini who was signed to a 7yr/$9.1m contract with no trade protections. Normally don’t like to go crazy with trades when doing an expansion franchise, but it’s almost impossible to pass on a deal like this.

Did cheese the game a bit and traded back for my elite LW prospect for a couple of draft picks.

You cannot convince me these games are not scripted

I take the lead late in the third in a Western Conference Final game and immediately give up this garbage. There is objectively zero reason a goal like this should happen, but EA determined this game needs to go to OT to fulfill their "Close Game Quota."

I wouldn't even be that upset if the goalie animations at least made sense. Why does Askarov react like the puck is sitting flat on the ice a foot away from him? Why does he fucking headbutt the puck? Absolutely baffling.
