Best way to read classic EC sci fi collections?

Evening all,

I'm getting into EC via the new Oni imprint and reeeeeally enjoying it, so I want to go back and read some classic EC, especially the sci fi stuff like Weird Science.

What are some good ways to make first steps into the archives with collected editions, please? Thanks for all help 🙏

I have spent a few years reading the Oni Press EC stuff. The horror titles are my main draw because I love horror. I am considering dropping Cruel Universe though. Lately the stories are not making that much sense, or they feel like cheap imitations of the classic EC titles.

Weird Science Fantasy 1952 Annual

EC Annuals were four random unsold comics from the previous year with the covers stripped, bound into a new cover. Contents varied. I didn't bother with them for years for that reason - "you're just buying it for the cover!" Well, I did, of course, start seeking out the Annuals when I had completed other runs, and I have to say...the covers are WORTH it! Take this one by Al Feldstein - amazing! This is my most recent Annual pickup, I now have all except for the 1951 Tales of Terror Annual. (There were 3 horror, the first is the rarest, 2 sci-fi, and 2 war annuals)

Searching for EC story: Young couple homesteading on a jungle planet...

Hey EC Fans!

I'm looking high and low for an EC story I loved as a kid, about a young couple who find an idyllic planet to colonize by themselves. The place feels like paradise until the husband has to fly back to Earth for supplies and leave his pregnant wife behind by herself. If memory serves it has a classic EC twist ending.

Does anybody here know which story this could be? And where to find it?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Other good pre-code comics?

What are some other good pre-code comics that you'd say are worth reading and that are in the same vein as EC? I'm browsing PS Artbooks and some old Dark Horse Archives...
