Does a mower use more battery when the grass is thicker and denser?

Has anyone noticed their mower taking longer to finish the lawn during peak growing season?

My A1600 LiDAR Pro has been using a bit more battery lately, but the mower itself still cuts normally. I’m starting to think it’s less about the mower and more that the grass has just gotten thicker and faster-growing this past month.

Curious if other people see the same seasonal change once the lawn really starts growing in.

Can't handle dandelions?

Basically all my lawn areas are poorly cut because it avoids dandelions. They can sprout up in a day to 8-10" tall. It acts as if they are obstacles.

This is gonna be unsustainable for me, dandelions are everywhere here.

Anyone else dealing with this or have advice? I don't really care to pull them all, I'm happy to have them for the bees and never imagined it would fail so dramatically.

3000 m² Map Limit on Ecovacs GOAT A3000 – Any Solutions or Firmware Hacks?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone managed to bypass or solve the 3000 m² mapping limit on the Ecovacs GOAT A3000?

The robot itself seems fully capable of mowing much larger areas, but the software refuses to create maps above 3000 m². It really feels like an artificial firmware/app restriction rather than a real hardware limitation.

I’m interested in hearing if anyone has:

  • found a workaround,
  • modified the firmware,
  • used custom firmware/root access,
  • split zones successfully without problems,
  • spoofed multiple maps/accounts,
  • or discovered hidden settings/service menus.

Even partial solutions or technical information would be useful.

Thanks!

Goat O800 RTK sick?

Hi all.. have the goat for second summer now. I was very happy, but now since a few days he seems lost. Very weird pattern since few days. No more lines. What can it be? Do I need to factory reset?

May is supposed to be for chilling in the garden, not bending over trimming lawn edges.

Art de Vivre sounds nice in theory. In practice? I every weekend crouched like a goblin, fighting a trimmer that smelled like gasoline and regret. My back hated me, and my neighbor probably thought I was rehearsing for a torture scene. But everything has changed after I got a new grass remover the a3000 LiDAR pro. The AI camera maps my yard, like trees, roots, a rogue basketball, without losing its mind. And the truedge trimmer doesn't just nibble around borders, it finishes edges like someone actually gives a damn. Quiet and precise is the normal thing, I could said it almost make me feel like a kind of weide elegant lol.

A2000

Looking to pull the trigger on this one mostly because of the side trimmer. If you have this unit, do you find yourself still having to manually trim? Also can someone IM a referral?

Do I really need a robotic mower for a small lawn?

Not sure if it’s just the weather getting warmer lately, but I’ve been getting lazier about mowing the lawn every week.

My yard honestly isn’t that big, I always felt like it was small enough to just handle manually, so I never seriously considered getting a mower before. But recently I’ve noticed that if I get busy for even a few days, the grass grows out pretty fast and then I have to set aside time to deal with it again.

Now I’m starting to consider an upgrate, but I’m also wondering if it might be a bit overkill for a lawn this size. Most of the setups I see online seem to be for larger or more complicated yards. I’ve noticed O600 RTK that seems designed for smaller lawns, but my yard has a path that’s around 0.7m wide. Are there any models that can handle something like that well? For those with smaller lawns, do you feel like a robot mower is actually worth it? Does it genuinely make things easier, or is it more of a nice to have kind of upgrade?

Any way to get the PRO to trim on both sides of a fence?

Or even trim on an area boundary?

I have a chain link fence (see my previous post) that splits between my back yard and a dog run. When I try to map out a new area, it always merges it :(

This unfortunately seems to make it so that the trimmer will not run against the fence.

Any ideas?

Instead of complaining, let's try and be constructive. Suggestions for Ecovacs to make fixes or add features. I will start.

Model: Firmware:

Suggestion:

Model: A2000 LiDAR Por Firmware: 1.8.20

Suggestion:

Ok, so I have a list of suggestions/fixes

  1. When mapping, and there is no wifi signal(larger yards), then use phone's data so the Robot does not show offline.

  2. Remove Auto merge, and ask us if we want to merge the two areas. As of now, get too close to a fence, and boom, it merges the maps. Now the unit thinks the two areas can be connected, when in fact they can not.

  3. Allow us to adjust closeness of no-go zones or boundaries.

  4. Allow adding no go zones on the fly. For instance, while mowing, robot gets stuck, allow us to add a no go zone right then and there. this will save countless hours during setup.

  5. Allow us to trim around no go zones, either in selectively trimming or full boundary.

  6. Improve Sandy soil logic.

  7. Allow a one time override of Rain sensor, and waiting. My sprinklers in Zone C(where Sir Cuts A Lot is docked) may run for 5 minutes, to fill the bird bath, but I need it to cut Zone F. Currently I have to turn the Rain Sensor feature off, then run robot, then remember to turn it back on again after cutting.

  8. When stuck, or on sandy soil, lift mowing deck when turning. Maybe allow us to designate areas by types of surface.

These are off the top of my head, I know I have more, but these seemed most important to me.

App GPS Bluetooth notification

I usually don't have my location services turned on on my phone for reasons. When I go to the app to access the mower over wifi, it always tells me that to access Bluetooth devices I need to have location services on. I don't use the Bluetooth connection since I prefer wifi. Is there a way to remove this notification? It causes me to have to back up one screen to get past the error.

Anyone had a wheel malfunction?

I guess this is just a rant post. My goat is only a week into it’s second season. Wheel drive broken? One driving wheel spins freely and goat screams wheel malfunction. Is this product only meant to last one season -_-

My new little buddy is finally out on the lawn getting to work

I’ve only had it for a little while, but for such a small mower it’s actually really nimble. I’ll keep posting updates on how it does with the mowing:)

Awesome first experience

My ancient hand-me-down push mower finally broke last week, and I was looking at replacement options. My yard is just on the cusp of being big enough for a small riding mower, and I was shocked that just about every option (even at the smallest size) was over $2k. I had been eyeing robotic lawnmowers for a while, but wanted to wait for technology to advance far enough so that I wouldn’t have to mess with wires or anything.

Enter the A2000 LiDAR Pro! I got it on Amazon and just tested it out for the first time last night. The thing works great! So far I am very happy and would definitely recommend.

I don't want to designate what type of keep out boundary I have, I want to designate how far away to stay.

This keep out region type makes no sense to me. I really don't care whether it's a flower bed or a swing set? I really just want to designate how close the mower goes to that keep out zone. I want to be able to set how many centimeters it goes up to that zone so that I can properly cut these regions. Instead, it picks an arbitrary distance and the edger misses a bunch, which defeats the purpose of the edger.

Anyone else notice some robot mowers struggle once spring grass gets thick?

This spring I've noticed my robot mower has been having a harder time once the grass started growing thicker and faster. Earlier in the year it kept up pretty well, but lately if I skip a day or two, the lawn already looks a bit overgrown again. After rain especially, the mower itself seems to slow down a bit, and some areas don't come out as even as before.

My yard is mostly open, so getting around isn't really the issue. I'm more wondering which mowers actually do well during peak growing season and can keep mowing steadily over a bigger area without needing a lot of babysitting. I don't mind occasional charging breaks, but I'd like something that can stay consistent when the grass gets heavier in spring.

Anyone else run into this? Curious what models you guys are using from Goat and how they handle thicker grass over time. Appreciate any feedback.

Goat O1000 Lidar falls off the path and ignores gutter extension

Any suggestions how to deal with that issues? Robot falls of the path 2 time out of 3 attempts.

Also I expected lidar and vision to see gutter extension, but robot just won't see it at all.
