The EPFO 3.0 (CITES) Migration is a structural disaster. I am calling out C-DAC and the tech vendors on X. Please amplify this!

Hey everyone,

Like thousands of us here, my illness advance Claim has been completely stuck since 3rd July due to the disastrous "EPFO 3.0 / CITES database centralization."

To make matters worse, the Regional PF Commissioner falsely disposed of my official grievance with a copy-paste lie (blaming SBI servers when the claim isn't even processed) just to clear their internal metrics. Now, the system has locked me out from raising a fresh grievance for 30 days!

The Income Tax portal works at lightning speed because the government wants to collect our money. Meanwhile, EPFO and passbook servers intentionally collapse and go offline whenever it is time to return our hard-earned money. If these Indian tech giants delivered a buggy, breaking rollout like this to a Western client, they would face massive multi-million dollar penalties and lawsuits. Why is the Indian middle class treated as a free beta-testing ground?

I have put together a comprehensive X (Twitter) thread breaking down the complete engineering failure of C-DAC, the lack of disaster recovery rollbacks, and the malpractice of the grievance redressal system.

Please take 10 seconds to read, retweet, and tag the ministries so they cannot ignore this clusterfk any longer:

Let's make sure this reaches the top of the feed before Monday morning.

If your claim is stuck too, drop your date and status below so we can keep the momentum going!

Employer is contributing part of my PF to EPS even though my Basic Pay has always been above ₹15,000. What should I do?

Used Chat GPT for grammar.

TLDR added below

Hi everyone,

I recently joined a new company and, while checking my EPFO passbook, noticed that part of my employer's PF contribution is being allocated to EPS (Pension Scheme) instead of the full employer contribution going to EPF.

My situation:

  • I started my career in 2021 and became an EPF member for the first time in July 2021.
  • My Basic Pay has never been below ₹15,000 since I started my career.
  • My understanding is that since I was a new EPF member after 1 September 2014 and my Basic + DA/PF wages were above ₹15,000 when I first joined, I should not be eligible for EPS.
  • I recently joined a new company, which has been operating for around 7 years and has 100+ employees.
  • After joining, I noticed that the employer's contribution is being split between EPF and EPS in my passbook.

I emailed HR asking them to correct the EPS allocation and route the full employer contribution to EPF.

My email to HR:

>I joined the EPF system for the first time in July 2021 with a starting basic salary above ₹15,000. According to EPFO guidelines, I’m not qualified for EPS scheme.

Could you please initiate the rectification process with EPFO office to reallocate the accumulated EPS amounts into my EPF account and update the payroll system to stop the EPS split going forward?

HR's reply (Forwarded from the company's EPFO consultant):

>Though the employee's basic salary is ₹15,000 above, for the purpose of pension eligibility and EDLI benefit, the company has enrolled him as an EPS eligible employee. If he is so particular about exempt from EPS, please provide an exit date on 31-07-2026 and enroll him again by entering actual Basic + DA in PF salary in webportal.
However, to make corrections in the pf statement it will take an indefinite period of time.

I'm confused by this response because my understanding is that EPS and EDLI are separate schemes, and being eligible for EDLI shouldn't automatically make me eligible for EPS.

They are also asking to provide an exit date and then re-enroll with actual data.

My questions:

  1. Am I correct that I am not eligible for EPS based on my first EPF membership being in July 2021 with wages above ₹15,000?
  2. Is the company's explanation regarding EPS and EDLI correct?
  3. Is providing an exit date and re-enrolling the correct way to fix this?
  4. What happens to the EPS contributions already made? Can they be reallocated to EPF?
  5. Could this process affect my EPF service history, date of joining, UAN, or future PF transfer/withdrawal?
  6. Should I first raise a grievance with EPFO directly before agreeing to the exit/re-enrolment process?

I would appreciate advice from anyone familiar with EPFO/EPS rules or PF corrections, especially if you've experienced something similar.

TL;DR: I first joined EPF in July 2021 with Basic Pay always above ₹15,000. My new employer is splitting part of the employer PF contribution into EPS. HR says they enrolled me in EPS for "pension eligibility and EDLI benefit" and wants me to provide an exit date and re-enroll to correct it. Is this correct, and what should I do about the EPS contributions already made?

Updating Date of Joining for the previous employer

Hi

The date of joining for one of my previous employers is incorrect and I want to update it to avoid final settlement delays.

Earlier, I was able to transfer the account to my new employer earlier when I changed my company. Unfortunately, UAN portal joint declaration is throwing this alert "Warning: Benefits already availed Withdrawal. PF account status is Transferred" and I am not getting the edit icon for date of joining anywhere. as shown in the image (the highlighted dates needs to be updated).

Can some guide how to update the date of joining for a previous employer (I am not getting the pencil edit icon for "Date of Joining EPF")?

Applied for PF Withdrawal (Form 19) for latest company. Can I cancel, merge old accounts, and avoid TDS?

Hey everyone, quick question regarding EPF withdrawal rules and TDS.

My Work History:

  • Company 1: 2 years | Break: 2 years
  • Company 2: 1 year | Break: 2 years
  • Company 3: 3 years
  • Total: ~6 years (all linked under one UAN, but member IDs were never transferred/merged)

The Issue:

I applied for Form 19 (PF withdrawal) today for Company 3 only (Around 1 Lakh total). Because C3 alone is under 5 years of service, 10% TDS will be deducted. I realized too late that my cumulative service across all 3 companies is >5 years.

My Questions:

  1. Is it possible to cancel/stop a Form 19 claim if it’s currently showing as "Under Process" on the portal?
  2. If I merge C1 and C2 into C3 using the online transfer option, will my total service count as >5 years to make it tax-free?

Would appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with this. Thanks!

First Advantage BGV – Unable to verify UAN details due to login error. Has anyone faced this please help what should I do ?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently going through a background verification (BGV) process with First Advantage for a new job. As part of the employment verification, I have been asked to verify/extract my employment details through my EPFO/UAN account.
The problem is that I’m unable to complete the verification. Every time I try to log in/connect my EPFO account through the First Advantage verification process, I get an error and the process doesn’t proceed.
I have already tried multiple times, including during non-working hours as suggested by First Advantage, but I’m still facing the same issue. I also contacted First Advantage support, but they basically advised me to try again later, which hasn’t worked so far.
My UAN is active and I can access my EPFO account normally, but the verification/data extraction through First Advantage is not working.

Establishment is blocked

So, most of you are aware I have also applied for 31 advance claim on 3rd July, Gurugram central. The status remains same till date, initially in passbook the office was coming null, last week Sunday that got updated to Gurugram central, and then interest changed from provisional to Actual. But then just thought to check form 31 claim creation again, but clicking a new claim trigger a message “ESTABLISHMENT BLOCKED”. However my claim was already submitted on 3rd. Anyone facing similar? This message I’m getting only after passbook update. Is this a migration issue?

🆘 First-Time EPF Withdrawal – "Invalid KYC" & Asking for Passport 😕

Hi everyone 👋

I'm trying to withdraw my EPF for the first time, but the portal keeps showing "Invalid KYC" and asks me to upload a passport, which I don't have. 😕

My PAN is pending employer digital signing, and my bank details are under verification.

Is a passport really required for EPF withdrawal, or do I just need to wait until my KYC is fully approved? 🤔

Anyone unemployed for 2 to 3 months got PF Form 31 (Illness) approved under EPFO 3.0?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone here has been unemployed for the last 2 to 3 months and applied for an Advance PF Withdrawal under Form 31 under the Illness category after the rollout of EPFO 3.0.

I am in the same situation. I submitted my claim on 13 July 2026, but there has been no movement so far.

Has anyone with a similar situation had their claim approved recently?

If yes, could you please share:

* How many days it took for approval? * Is the same amount approved you applied for ? * Was any additional document or clarification requested? * Which EPFO office processed your claim? * Any grievance you made for the same if yes, how did you proceed ?

Any recent experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!

EPF - Employee Contribution over 2.5 Lakh, no entry in AIS

Have a problem and wanted some help, for FY 24-25 my EPF passbook had 1,27,826 as taxable amount. But no TDS entry in last year as well as this year AIS.

This year(FY 25-26) the EPF has gone one level ahead and have not computed taxable amount only. Neither has declared it in AIS. Because of the lack of column of taxable that even is absent now. When computed on my own it comes to be 1,31,300 in excess of 2.5 lakh and probably that much amount being taxable.

On top of this, because they are upgrading they don’t even have past records on the website.

Any suggestions to handle this situation for a peaceful night’s sleep???

Raised a grievance on 13 July and status says - 'Received Grievance'

I have been out of job because of this and unfortunately not able to use my funds in EPFO because of this unresolved issue

Are you also facing this issue?

Claim settlement on FIFO Basis?

I submitted PF advance claim under special circumstances category on 3rd July 08:32 AM amount being less than Rs.5 lacs with 100% KYC Compliant profile and multiple claims have been settled in past which means PF department has everything that they need in their records and systems for my claim processing and settlement.

Even on 20th July, the status is still showing as 'Claim Submitted at Portal' and today I have received response from regional PF officer from Mumbai (Bandra) office on CPGRAMS Portal saying that 'Claim has been received and will be settled on 'FIRST IN FIRST OUT' Basis within stipulated time.

I have two questions.

  1. If EPFO is really following FIFO method for claim processing and settlement and 3rd July was the first day of resumption of EPFO services after the week-long shut down for technology upgrade, how is it possible that my claim is not even moving to any further stage and still stuck at Claim Submitted at Portal stage!? Are they still processing claims submitted before system shut down? And so many people have posted on Reddit that they have got their claims settled which were submitted after my claim! Some people have posted screenshots displaying 2 claims settled!

  2. The widespread update of 3-day settlement seems to be a misleading campaign, do we still have 20 working days as the stipulated timeline for claim settlement?
