Background verification in progress

I have my technical interview and filled the CIS form on the same day. In the portal, my original application gives a rejection status; but a new one has been created with the status 'Background verification in process'. So do I have a chance, will i get the offer ? How long after this status will we get the offer ?

Need some advice on a EY India recruitment issue!

I recently interviewed for a role with EY India for one of their banking clients for Sr Consultant Role.

During the first HR call, I was told that the budget was lower than my expectation, so I said I could not proceed.

After around 10 days, the recruiter called me again and said the budget had been increased and my expectation now fit their budget. So I agreed to continue.

I completed all the interview rounds and was told that my feedback was positive and that I was selected.
After that, the TA team started the documentation process and I submitted all the required documents.

I had also clearly told them from the beginning that my notice period is 2 months.

Now, after completing the whole process, HR is saying that my expectation does not fit the band of Sr Consultant and they are looking for an immediate joiner.
While these were things we had already discussed before I started the interviews.

The HR person is also not giving me a clear answer and is not responding to my calls properly.
Unfortunately, most of the discussion about salary, budget and notice period was verbal.

I feel this was not handled professionally, especially because I had to take leaves and spend a lot of time for the interview process, really surprised to see how broken is the hiring process with big4. It removed all my excitement to join the big4, I thought it’s very professional environment, but it appears that the reviews on the different website about the EY completely inline with what I experienced.

What would you guys suggest?
Should I escalate this internally and ask for a proper explanation? Do I have any rights in this situation even though most of the discussions were verbal?
Or should I just move on and take this as a lesson?
Would really appreciate your views, especially from people who have faced something similar in India.

Stuck in "Hiring Team Phase" at EY GDS after Interview & CIS – Need advice!

Hey everyone,I’m an experienced professional looking for some clarity on the EY GDS (Global Delivery Services) hiring timeline. I’m starting to get worried and could use some advice from anyone who has gone through this recently.

My Timeline so far:

July 29: Completed my technical interview.

July 31: Filled out and submitted the Candidate Information Sheet (CIS).

August 8 & 14: Sent follow-up emails to the recruiter but haven't received a response yet.

Current Status: The portal shows "Hiring Team Phase."

Is it normal to go through three weeks of silence after the CIS stage?

I’ve heard that experienced hiring can take 6+ weeks, but is it common for recruiters to stop responding entirely during this "Hiring Team Phase"?

Verbal offer confirmation but no offer letter after 3 weeks

I got a verbal confirmation for Software Asset Management Analyst role, but it’s been around 3 weeks and I still haven’t received the offer letter.
Is this normal? How long did it take to receive it after verbal confirmation?

EY GDS pass or fail email

I kept wondering if this is how they reject their applicants. I applied for a lot of positions at EY GDS since they kept popping up on my Jobstreet, LinkedIn, and Indeed. I don't even remember applying for Expanded Assurance - Senior Associate, all I remembered applying for was Audit Senior.

My final interview with the Senior Manager was on August 03, 2026, and up until now, I'm still wondering if I got the role or not. This email came three days after the interview, but it looks like an automatic email. I would expect a rejection email to be more specific from the recruiter.

If I didn't get the role, please tell me, instead of leaving me wondering whether I got it or not. What if I got the role but already accepted other job offers from another company? The same thing happened to me last year.

I applied, and the recruiter from EY GDS responded a month later, by which time I already had a job. Of course, I need a job and I need assurance. So, I rejected EY's offer out of respect for my current employer that I don't want to resign just because a much better offer came, and I was just 3 months at that time. So if the same thing happened right now and I passed but already have a job, I will reject their offer again, and I might get banned in their records that I kept on applying to EY GDS but eventually reject them once they give me the JO. The funny thing is, I got the same recruiter from last year.

All I'm asking for is at least a pass or fail email. Becauae what if I kept waiting for them and didn't look for other opportunities, expecting I passed but didn't?

EY GDS — In-person discussion after offer

Hi everyone, I’m joining EY GDS on 14th Sept 2026. Today, HR called and asked me to attend an in-person discussion this week for a project fitment check before my DOJ. She also asked me to prepare the topics covered in my technical interviews.

I’ve already received the offer and am currently serving my notice period, so I’m a bit concerned and worried too.

Has anyone experienced this at EY GDS? Is this just a normal project fitment discussion, or can it impact the offer?

Would appreciate your views. Thanks!

My Entire Batch Got Their Revised Offer Letters… I Haven’t Even Gotten the Original One

-I’m a campus hire, and I’m getting really anxious about my onboarding situation.

-Everyone else in my batch has received their offer letters EXCEPT ME AND ANOTHER GIRL and has already completed or started the next steps, including background verification.

-Recently, our joining date was revised, and my friends have now received their revised offer letters reflecting the new DOJ as well.

-In my case, I and her only received a communication informing me that my joining date has been revised and that I will shortly receive the updated/revised offer letter. The communication also assured me that I would receive the revised offer letter.

-But the confusing part is that we never received the original offer letter in the first place. So I don’t understand how I’m supposed to receive a revised offer letter when I haven’t even received the original one.

-Everyone else in my batch has received both the initial offer and now the revised one, while I’m still waiting for my first offer letter.

-I’ve emailed/followed up with the recruitment team multiple times, but I’m not getting a response.

Has anyone experienced something similar as a campus hire? Could this simply be an administrative/onboarding delay, or should I be concerned that there’s an issue with my candidature?

EY GDS PH

Is there a possibility that you won't get the job even after getting a JO and completing the medical? They asked me to sign another job offer with another date but I still haven't heard from them.

Offer revised!

Last month, I received an offer from EY GDS for 14 and accepted it. Now, I have received another offer from Deloitte for 15.5LPA.
Is there any chance EY will revise their offer to match Deloitte’s, or will they simply let me go if I tell them I’m not joining?
