EYGDS Philippines SALARY

Hi everyone!

I recently received a job offer, and I already sent an email to HR asking if they could stretch the salary a bit higher. I believe I have relevant experience, so I thought it was worth asking.

May naka-experience na ba dito na successful yung salary negotiation after receiving the initial job offer? Nag-counter ba sila with a higher offer, or usually final na yung first offer?

Would love to hear your experiences. Medyo kinakabahan lang while waiting. 😅 Thanks!

Does EY sponsor US CPA like Deloitte does for its freshers

Hi everyone,

I recently got selected through campus placement and will be joining EY GDS as a B.Com fresher in the Audit & Assurance service line.

I have a question for current and former EY GDS employees.

I've heard that Deloitte sponsors or reimburses the US CPA for eligible employees. Does EY GDS offer a similar benefit for fresh campus hires in the Assurance practice?

If yes, I'd love to know:

Whether EY GDS sponsors or reimburses the US CPA.

When a fresher becomes eligible for the sponsorship.

Whether there are any performance requirements or eligibility criteria.

Whether there is a service agreement/bond after accepting the sponsorship, and if so, how long it is.

Whether the sponsorship covers exam fees, study materials, review courses, or only certain expenses.

Any other terms and conditions that employees should know before applying.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the process or has reliable information.

Please DM me if any informations and advice as well as guidance

Thank You

How i got into EY GDS as ACCA Affiliate

--- Myself a 22 yr old girl, who have been working with EY for almost 2 years now and this is how i got into EY!

I have been getting a lot of DMs asking about how I got in, so I thought I'd just make a post explaining my entire process.

Applying & Getting a Referral

I qualified in July 2024. Before that, I had applied to a lot of openings but never got any callbacks.

The day before I qualified, a new position called Core Audit Staff opened up, specifically looking for an ACCA fresher.

I used to follow a lot of people from EY on LinkedIn, especially those who regularly posted about openings and asked people to reach out for referrals. The day I qualified, I immediately sent my details to one of them, and he referred me.

Referral is so underrated. Reach out to anyone working in the firm, especially people who actively post openings. A referral definitely helps your application get noticed more easily than a direct application.

One thing I did was use two email IDs:

One email ID for referrals.

Another email ID to apply directly, just to be on the safer side.

The reason is, once someone refers you for a role, only that person can refer you for other openings for the next 6 months. If they stop responding, you're stuck. Having a second email ID lets another employee refer you.

---

HR Calls

Within a week, I received a call from HR asking basic questions:

Qualification

Location preference

Whether I was willing to relocate

A day or two later, I got another call asking about my availability for an interview.

---

Interview Process

My interview was online, and there was only one interview. (Recently, I believe most interviews have shifted to offline.)

The interview lasted around 30–40 minutes.

She first introduced herself and asked me to introduce myself.

Practice your introduction beforehand.

She then went through my CV and asked about my:

Qualifications

Certifications

Resume details

So make sure you're confident about everything you've mentioned on your resume.

After that, she moved on to accounting and finance questions. They were basic, but not too basic. Then she asked audit-related questions.

If you're an ACCA student/affiliate, I'd recommend revising the AAA textbook. You can also simply search Google or LinkedIn for EY audit interview questions—most of the commonly asked questions are available there.

I definitely didn't answer everything perfectly.

The important thing is to keep your composure. If you don't know something, don't panic. Just be honest and say something like:

"I'm not entirely sure, but I'll definitely look into it."

Even when I struggled with some questions, she actually tried helping me also

---

Excel skills & Internship

She then asked whether I knew Excel.

I had completed Excel certifications, so I told her that while I had done certifications, I didn't have much practical experience.

During the gap between my last ACCA exam and receiving my offer letter, I had done a 2-month internship at a local CA firm.

It wasn't mentioned on my resume because I didn't have an internship certificate, but I brought it up during the interview.

Since I had used some Excel functions there i mentioned it, she asked me about:

What work I did

My responsibilities

My Excel usage

---

HR Questions

Towards the end, she asked the usual HR questions like:

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Why EY?

I had already practiced these using ChatGPT, but I also added some personal touches.

For example, I mentioned that EY was the first Big 4 firm I had ever heard about, so I always wanted to start my career there.

Adding something personal makes your answer sound much more genuine.

---

One Random Question That Helped

She randomly asked me whether I knew any EY audit tools/software.

Luckily, I had come across their names in a LinkedIn post earlier, so I was able to mention a few. ( Canvas, Helix, Atlas - these are main ones)

She seemed to like that.

That's why I'd strongly recommend using LinkedIn a lot.

Honestly, during that time I spent more time scrolling LinkedIn than any other social media.

That's where I learned:

How to apply

How referrals work

Common interview questions

People's interview experiences

Once you start engaging with those posts, your feed becomes extremely useful.

---

After the Interview

The interview ended, and the next day I sent a thank-you email.

Even before ending the interview, I told the interviewer that it had been really comfortable talking to her and thanked her for making the interview such a positive experience.

---

Offer Letter

After that, there was no update for almost a month.

During that time, I also interviewed for another EY role called Advanced Audit Associate, which was also hiring ACCA freshers.

Around a month later, I received a form to fill out and there was background verification process.

Within a week, I got my offer letter asking me to join the following week.

There wasn't any salary negotiation. I guess that's because I was a fresher.

HR had casually mentioned the approximate salary during one of the earlier phone calls.

---

So that's basically how I got into EY.

I've been getting a lot of DMs about my process, so I thought I'd put everything in one post.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Happy to help!

Probablity of offer letter rolling out??

HR discussion and salary negotiation was over 1.5 weeks ago. HR mentioned the offer letter would be released on 1st July, but I have still not received it. Tried reaching out, but HR not picking up the call. In the EY careers portal status changed from BGV in progress to 'You are in the hiring phase of our interview process' since July 2nd.

Should I expect the letter next week? Or is it again another long wait?

US Tax Manager

I'm joining EY GDS as US Tax Manager level 1, from Deloitte USI with 7 years of experience. I am being offered 25LPA. When I tried to negotiate with the HR, I was informed that my current salary at Deloitte is itself at a higher range and for this role they can't go beyond 25LPA. And she said that they can give 25lpa only after an approval from leadership, else even that is doubtful.

Any insights on this will be very helpful!!

What’s included in the EY GDS joining/welcome kit?

Hi everyone! I’ll be joining EY GDS soon and was curious about the welcome/joining kit. What all does it usually include? Is it just company merchandise, or does it also come with the laptop and other accessories?

I have been ban from applying at EY

I tried applying for couple of roles after my initial interview rejection with EY and after couple of immediate rejection without interviews or contact with HR , I reached out to someone internally and I was told that EY gives a cool off period of 6month after my last interview. Those that mean that I can only interview for 1 role per every 6 months ? This makes absolutely no sense at all

2.5 years. No appreciation. Just criticism. And now I'm sick and alone in this.

ok so. 2.5 years at a big 4 firm. i've pulled all nighters till 6am more times than i can count. not once did anyone say good job. but the one time i made a small mistake it was brought up like i committed a crime.

Anyway last 2 months my health just decided to fully give up. first it was some infection type thing, doctor said take leave, i did the right thing, got the certificate, gave it to hr, all proper. then like a month later boom another issue. more leave. and i KNOW how that sounds like i'm just making excuses at this point but i swear it's not that. i have literally every medical report saved. fever that won't go down, body pain where i genuinely cannot sit up straight, throwing up.

This isn't me being dramatic but the guilt is the worst part honestly. every single day i take off i feel like i'm the worst employee alive and then my manager. i was going through all this and instead of even asking how i was doing he just tells me "is this even your responsibility toward the engagement." like that was it. that was the whole conversation.

2.5 years and that's what i get

i don't know what to do anymore. do i stick it out, do i resign now while i'm still recovering, do i wait it out till i'm better and then leave on my own terms. genuinely lost here has anyone been through something like this, what did you do

Further Onboarding details

I received an offer from EY GDS about a month ago and have completed all CIS/EIS documentation, submitted the required background verification documents, and finished 100% of the onboarding portal requirements. I also requested an earlier joining date, and a revised offer letter was issued 15 days ago.

Since then, I haven't received any further communication. My joining date is August 3rd. Could you please let me know if there are any pending steps from my side? Will I be receiving any further emails before joining, including details about NHO (New Hire Orientation)?

Referral Confusion

I stumpled across an issue today. I am a fresher with a contact in EY for referral. I have found out a few relevant job roles for me in "eyglobal.yello" site.

But my referrer simply cannot access those job ids in his portal.

He asked me to try "careers.ey.com", but that website is filled with job vacancies just for experienced professionals(which obviously I can't apply for).

Is this a common issue?

>!This referral was literally my ray of hope after 2,3 months of job hunting.!<
