Yesterday, I was a bit disappointed because I hadn't seen birds or hare all day. The mountain I climbed is called "Blyfjellet" - *the lead mountain* - and that name isn't about natural deposits, but...eh...explosive delivery.

The hunt hasn't started yet, so I was just hiking. Ended up meeting 8-10 ptarmigans here. What's remarkable is that this young female chick seems to have learned behaviour from its father: Directing potential predators away from eggs or siblings by staying on the ground, making me follow her. I complied with pleasure.

You can also hear the enormous difference in sound females and males make. The hen's clook clook can hardly be heard, the cock at the very end leaves no doubt as to what's flying up there.

It's mostly for my youngest, who fiercely loves stuffed animals and uses them to help regulate. They named her Toast.

Almost as if I melted myself. Did any of you guys see the solar eclipse? I have a family film at a bonfire I can't share, but am looking forward to pick up my other camera from the forest tomorrow morning.

A weekend trip with hubby resulted in a visit to an Italian market and purchasing of very expensive imported ingredients. This better be the best meal I've ever made.
