r/Edelgard

Hey guys, I have been toying with the idea of making some Western themed FE3H fanart featuring Edelgard Von Hresvelg, any ideas?
Also, I had a piece of fanart in mind which is Edelgard and Female Byleth both side by side horse riding while in cowgirl attire. What do you guys think?
How hard is it for r/Edelgard to S-Support characters, other than Edelgard herself?
Beyond forcing myself to play through Verdant Wind and Azure Moon just once, (where I went with Hilda and Ingrid respectively), I only recently decided to pair Byleth up with Dorothea.
I do see her as my second favorite Three Houses character, and it was heartwarming to see Dorothea's reaction to the proposal. Even so, I basically had to tell myself over and over again, "no, this is the Dorothea playthrough" when moments like the Goddess Tower came up.
Byleth and Edelgard just feel so connected throughout the entire narrative, that it almost feels wrong to go for someone else.
Which character did you have Byleth marry?
I'll also be a bit curious who this sub will tend to S-Support with once Fortune's Weave comes out.
Scenario: On Planet Earth, you are walking through the streets of Manhattan aimlessly, then you bump into a familiar mop of white hair... Edelgard von Hresvelg (Read description below)
This is part of my FE3H on Earth scenario series where the fe3h characters are all sent to Earth and made US Citizens after evaluations in a military base.
You are walking through New York City, sipping a $15 latte while scrolling on your phone. Then you bump into someone and fall to the ground after bumping into them. They reach out their gloved hand and you grip it as they hoist you back onto your feet.
You take a good look at them and as an FE fan, you immediately recognize this person as Edelgard von Hresvelg.
What would you do and how would you react?
Dear Edelgard fans, was there any time that Rhea was in the right?
This is a genuine question and not a troll post.
What are your guys's thoughts on this?
I know Rhea has done fucked up shit throughout Three Houses and even before the game but is there anything genuinely good she did or noble goals she had that had flawrd methods?
Let's keep this civil.
Edeleth Fan Fic - Throne of Dreams
Been awhile since I posted a promotion for this fic on here, but I just hit a big reveal and lore point for the story so figured it was a good time to see if new readers might be interested in some f!Byleth Edeleth! Especially with Fortune's Weave so close to the horizon and all my lore being threatened with being obliterated lol. Here's the link: Throne of Dreams, the meat of it is below though!
Summary:
Long before they meet at Garreg Mach, Edelgard von Hresvelg and Byleth meet one another somewhere neither of them fully understands: a quiet throne room that only exists in their dreams.
For Byleth, it starts with a strange, sleeping, green-haired girl, and a door that should not exist. For Edelgard, trapped far away and growing up in a world far crueler than it should be, that door between their dreams slowly becomes something precious.
Night after night, year after year, the two continue to meet in these dreams. Sometimes they teach each other about their own little worlds. Sometimes they explore strange visions of the past. Sometimes they simply support one another after hard, waking days.
They grow up together in these small, stolen moments of sleep. Neither of them realizes that one day, they will meet again in the waking world, and that the fate of all Fódlan may rest on what they come to mean to one another.
I'm at 44 chapters, 340k+ words and JUST revealed the reason for the dreamsharing lol. This story is easily going to hit 1M words by the time I'm finished and I hate myself for it, but dammit I will do it. I'm writing a thing I genuinely love here, with characters/blorbos that I adore and want to emulate, so the story is slow, but I'm stretching a lot of muscles while writing it. Updates are weekly, about 9-12k words per chapter.

Some comments from readers that love my story and have helped me write chapters going forward in it:
Queen of Hearts: What the fuck do you mean its a poem.
What the fuck do you mean it was all fucking connected>
ByteSizeNudist Chekhov's gunned me down in the streets.
God this fic is going to make me lace my fics with so many hints people will think its an ARG who's reward is more tears
PastelApocalypse: Once again you have me hanging on every word.
I cannot stress to you how good this fic is.
I have re read it 2x and I am genuinely sad I have to wait for more chapters.
I cant wait to see what comes of these conversations.
And I need to get some edeleth moments as well.
Thank you for the chapter!
TheDarkofTheDawn: Reading this chapter was like watching an elaborate, engrossing dance. My eyes were glued to it the entire time. Great stuff.
Scenario: if Edelgard were to go full western and join a rodeo on Earth, what event would she do?
Any other events post in the comments
Btw, rodeo is a popular western tradition in America where it is basically a place where people showcase their ranch skills or something like that.
I'd like to discuss a "what if"
So I was bored today and started bouncing what ifs around in my head. While thinking about Edelgard having the crest of flames I had the thought of "What if Sothis latched onto Edelgard upon meeting Byleth?"
And upon that thought I started to laugh a bit too hard, cause the chaos that would create. Edelgard who wants to take down the false goddess only to find the real one is floating around her head and is a sassy green haired gremlin.
So how do you think this would change the story?

Fun fact mentioned by one of the comments below - Hong Hua in 中文 chinese means Crimson Flower
How did you manage to play the other routes after Crimson Flower?
I just finished my first playthrough of Three Houses with the Black Eagles and the Crimson Flower route. For me it felt like the most logical path in the story: you save Edelgard at the start, she’s the first to reach out to you, her personality stands out the most, and when the big decision comes up it didn’t feel coherent to “execute” her as her professor. Protecting her made more sense.
The issue is… I liked Edelgard way too much. Her arc, her worldview, her conflict with the Church — everything clicked for me. Now I’m struggling with the idea of playing another route where I have to fight her or watch her die. I’ve read that the other endings are more tragic and don’t resolve the Fódlan nobility system or TWSITD, so to me they feel like “bad endings.” Since I already got what feels like the good one, it’s hard to motivate myself to intentionally pick a path that goes wrong. Honestly, I’m even considering replaying CF but recruiting every character possible this time, just to get their supports and learn more about them.
So my question is:
How did you motivate yourselves to play the other routes after CF?
Was it worth it for the lore or the different perspectives?
Or is it totally valid to stick with CF and jump straight into Three Hopes without missing anything essential?
For context: I genuinely wouldn’t mind just reading the rest of the lore (I saw there’s a big document here with tons of info), and if it’s purely about gameplay, I still have Engage waiting for me.
I’d love to hear your experiences — what pushed you to try the other routes, and what did they actually add?
