The pickup truck challenge

Edison builds serious electric work vehicles in Canada, so let's see if they can do this.

The challenge is to design a compact and affordable no frills pickups.

Not a lifestyle truck. A tool.

Specs:

Body-on-frame construction

RWD base, AWD optional

4 metres bumper to bumper

Two full adults seated comfortably, no jump seats

500 kg payload including passengers

1,000 kg towing capacity

15 kWh usable battery as standard

100 km range on battery only at full payload

Generator option, 15 kW sustained and 20 kW high load, mounted between the frame rails

500 km range with generator at full payload

130 kph top speed

AC standard, basic instruments, no infotainment

Design a prototype you can show us, and tell us what it would cost to buy.

Sticker spot?

Right here on the stang body so its a pain to remove, But lots will see? Or throw it on my work toolbox and few will see

Goodnight folks

(I promise I'll stop spamming the sub now 😂) Sun's setting on an awesome Edison go kart day, as the fire builds up for the night. Huge thanks to the entire Edison crew for hosting, & for the wicked fun courses for the kids!

Off to a good start!

When your weekend starts off this well, you know it's gonna be a good one! 😁 Three times I tried to get here to purchase one of these little cuties; three times the weather made the roads impassable, so I just assumed it wasn't meant to be. Now I'm here for the go kart weekend & shop grand opening, & there they were! 🥳😍🥰 Now for tea & try to get 9.5 hours of road noise out of my head. 😂 If you see me, feel free to ask about the swag! I'm always happy to nerd out about them. 😁

Challenge: Can Edison make a sub compact pickup to these specs?

Question for Edison Motors

Have you guys ever considered the drop in E.V for passenger cars? Is it something that's actually doable?

Cause man, if I could do it for my hatchback, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Edison at CANSEC (no cameras allowed)

CANSEC is the annual military convention and attendance is exclusive. Also Edison can say they are attending but they can't give any details or photos.

Rumor has it that Canada government is begging Edison to make a truck to save Calgary from a giant iceberg. But Chace was like "I gotta assemble a team"

When Ford Put Gas Generators in Pickup Trucks

So in 1970 a feller could get a "contractor" or "farm" special truck that came with a 2500 watt generator under the hood.

I get giddy when I think of an Edison "contractor" special that outputs various AC or DC options for hard working folks.
