Hey Bling enjoyers! 🗡️✨
As you can see, fashion always comes first—but as a Game Design student, I'm currently investigating the actual cost of our drip for my Bachelor’s thesis.
I’m running a short academic survey to analyze the exact trade-off players make between visual aesthetics (Elden Bling) vs. mechanical stats (damage negation/min-maxing) in Elden Ring.
If you love fine-tuning your outfit, I’d really appreciate 5 minutes of your time!

I’ve always had this problem of wanting my character to look special while also being able to look out of place if they were an npc like a member of Leda’s crew or a fellow tarnished you’d meet in the round table hold. I wanted to feel canon. The problem was, every cool looking armour in this game has some kind of organisation or important character behind it. Even the poster armour, the raging wolf set, isn’t our tarnished and neither is the armour on the cover art. And I didn’t really like mixing armour sets either because mixing armours from different factions isn’t what an npc would do. The closest thing I could get to this was the basic knight set as in the description it literally used to belong to a nameless knight. That or my personal favourite, the banished knight set completely unaltered as while yes you do see npc’s and enemies wear it, I don’t think there’s one that wear both the unaltered helmet and the unaltered chest piece together.
