I, i got a frickin' DETENTION for requesting an EC song for school's music broadcast?
15m, from South Korea, where metalcore is such a niche underground genre that barely anyone even knows electric callboy. So during lunchtime we have a music broadcast via the whole school radio, requested We Got The Moves, cuz why not... (btw we do not play music videos, songs that contain only a little bit of profanity is allowed)🔥🔥
And shit happened today, the principal had me follow him to his office, gave me DETENTION, and I got restricted from requesting music for the next two months. Ofc asked him why, he said that the song itself made the broadcasting club members and some students feel uncomfortable...
I tried to explain him metalcore is just an entirely different genre from viral songs in Korea (such as mass-producted kpop and slow songs like ballads) and that there's nothing horrible about it, unfortunately he did not understand... and he said "Even if you really like the song, you should not attempt to request stuff like that if you think there might be a reasonable reason for students being uncomfortable."
Uhm... of course, like 95% of the students in my school wouldn't even have heard about metalcore, and they might have hated We Got The Moves, i think it's just a matter of personal preference... and not typa stuff that deserves detention... or i might be actually wrong, i just want to hear your opinions lol
