Been Having issues printing/bed leveling. I tried switching software to the community one made here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElegooNeptune3/comments/1d87n5m/new_firmware_marlin_2123_for_neptune_3_proplusmax/ but it doesn't seem to have helped much?

The main issue seems to be radical variance in what height its printing at across the bed, but as far as I can tell currently the bed reads all within the limits its supposed to be able to adjust for with the auto-leveler? And it seems to from being too close to the bed to too far extremely fast when printing leveling prints, this is obviously most dramatic in the bottom right hand corner, but It seems to happen all over the bed.

Any help is much appreciated! Not necessarily new to 3d printing, but not super experienced either, so could be missing something(s) on the basic side.

My Elegoo Neptune 3 starts printing PETG normally, but after some time it stops extruding and the extruder grinds the filament.

I replaced the entire hotend and nozzle, dried the filament, reduced retraction, etc. Still happening.

I noticed the heatsink/dissipator gets VERY hot, and the front hotend cooling fan (under the extruder motor) is not spinning at all.

Symptoms:

• Extruder starts grinding/masticating the filament
• Filament gets deformed/swollen near the hotend
• I have to remove the filament, cut the damaged section, and reload it
• After reloading, it prints normally again for some time
• Dissipator/heatsink gets VERY hot to the touch
• Extrusion becomes inconsistent with blobs and underextrusion before failure

The filament comes out swollen/deformed when I remove it, and after cutting/reloading it prints normally again for a while.

Does this sound like classic heat creep caused by a dead hotend fan?

Hey so I have been having this issue for the past couple days where I try to print something and I get the thermal runaway error. The strange thing is that my nozzle temps are steady, but the bed temp is fluctuating and I’m getting these errors when the bed in cooler than the target temp (see photo for latest example)

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

So earlier today I wanted to start a 14h print, so I cleaned the printbed with dish soap and clean sponge, meanwhile I returned the nozzle to home position when I heard weird noises coming from my printer. I shut it off and put the nozzle up to see a hole under the printbed with a little bit of plastic sticking out. Pretty sure I'm dumb to have tried zeroing it without the bed, but since then I'm having adhesion issues. Could it be the reason or am I missing something?

I have tried auto leveling the bed, doing the paper test, adjusted the Z-offset and cleaning the bed again with no luck.

Any tips?

I am currently after updating my firmware doing some pressure advance testings at 100mm/s wicb seems rather reliable, but my pressure advances want me to do 0.14 at 240°C??

I am using a Elegoo neptune 3 plus

300mm/s² acceleration everywhere

240°C nozzle

Orca slicer

I tested printing with some simple shapes done in other slicers and they printed fine. Then last night I installed Prusa using the Neptune 3 Pro profile and Generic PLA, and it was really poor. See pic -

The support layer was messy and the nozzle was actually dragging through the support, and I heard it make thump sounds a couple of times from catching on the filament lumps before I switched it off.

I sliced the exact same STL in Orcaslicer and it's in there now printing fine. What am I missing in Prusa?
