My try at High King Arucatas
Would love to improve the lightning bolts on the sword if anyone has advice.
Used the leman Russ primarch model from forge world as a base.

I originally made a heraldry sheet for the Celestial Lions and decided to make one for the Emperor Spears too! I've been looking for sources online, through reddit, art and chatting the past 4 days since posting about the Heraldry and finally finished it.
The heraldry sheet uses ideas both from lore and from fan interpretations
The fan made details: Left Greave Markings - Online transfer sheets Seal markings - Online Miniatures Druid Designs
Canon details: Left Greave Markings - Celestial Lions badge and Left Greave markings for Personal heraldry Paragon details Capes All Rank names Seals - Index Astartes Left Greave - Manticore Symbol
As well as some personal interpretations and designs: Manticore symbol variant Symbol of the forge-moon Bellona
Since I practically scrapped all this together, there are surely mistakes in this and I'd more than appreciate if it were called out so I could potentially update the information or help people understand the heraldry rules better when they check the post.
The things I suspect most to have mistakes is: Druids Paragons
Hey !
I'm continuing my tests to find the ideal blue for my army. I'm not a professional painter. However, I've seen several people here use Hoeth Blue, but for some reason I can't figure out, I can't get a result similar to yours. I think I'm getting closer to Russ Grey.
In the end, I can't make up my mind. Talassar blue might be the best, but I can't get a clean contrast result.
My attempt at an ES intercessor and one of the Pure to challenge him.
Hey,
I took advantage of having some free time to test the scheme. I used Frostheart over a base coat of Grey Seer. I'll check it tomorrow once the paint is dry. But it looks very clear to me.
I'd like to get as close as possible to GW's scheme. Isn't the Talassar Blue contrast paint likely to be too dark?
My first thought is, what is going to happen with the second book? Why would we leave the Veil? What is the timeline of this?
Spoilers for Spears of the Emperor*
At the beginning of the book Brêac mentions several times that they’ve been sending ships for years to the other side of the rift, with no success as those ships never contact them back or returned, so they stopped. With our assumption that those ships most likely have been destroyed or lost. But we gotta remember right, the Great rift is basically still a warp storm of sorts and has a lot of weird time displacement things going on.
GW has made that a plot device for years with characters mysteriously getting lost in warp storms and then randomly showing up again at the right time and place. And I think that is what is going on. The Forces that are on Armageddon are the ones previously sent through the great rift and somehow survived.
Brêac also states that the lions “Make No effort” to go back to the Imperium, for obvious reasons. So I’m still not sure how or why they will go back. Maybe some of those Spears ships just happens to have some Lions on them
Spoilers from World Ablaze*
People have been wondering how the blood angels got back across the rift. One of the announcers kind of spoils something by saying they kept oaths and sent a force and only a few of them made it over. In World Ablaze, we see the 6th Company, finally make it to Armageddon and they say by the time they got there the war has been going on for 2 years. That’s how warp travel/crossing the rift effect what’s going on
Greetings, fellow servants of the emperor! I come to request your aid on a very special project.
So this past February I attended my first ever 40k event, a narrative team tournament with an awesome judge that told me the Emperor's Spears are his favorite chapter. I asked him if maybe next year I could get some special benefits for my team if I were to, hypothetically, bring him a bladeguard captain(his favorite unit)painted like an Emperor's Spear with his face. I very well might've done it regardless, he said yes so now I have a new art project, lol!
I was going to use the Indomitus Captain, but I find this model to be way more dynamic and cooler than that one, so I'm going with this one. I'm here today to ask y'all if there's anything I should or could do to make this guy more Emperor's Spear-ish; I was thinking green stuffing fur into the cape and/or adding a chaos helmet to the base. I've read through a chunk of the chapter's lore and looked at art, but I haven't read the books(I'm not even done with *my own* chapter's books)so I was hoping to get some more insight into the Spears. Any feedback is helpful, thank you very much brothers!
If you aren't watching the live q and a. Your chapter and the celestial lions are on Armageddon with the sons of Vulkan!!
Hey,
I'd like to try out the Emperor Spear color scheme, which I think is really great. I'd like to try it with Contrast paints. I'm hesitating between the most logical choice, Talassar Blue. However, what do you think of Asurmen Blue? If anyone has already tried it, I'd love to see your miniatures. Thanks!
I'm planning on making something related to Heraldry, but I'm relatively new to the Emperors Spears. So I was wondering where I could learn heraldry or if there are any sources for it
yeah he was gonna be a gravgar proxy but i've been struggling with him for too long. rip to the two victrix i still haven't finished as well i guess.
My first spear done lemme know what yall think!
For building Emperor's Spears can't you just buy some space wolves models with pelts and simply change their heads (for the helmetless ones) if they are "too viking" or something?
