This game will be swarmed by Cheaters

I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I am very steadily seeing more and more cheaters in this game. Mainly all aim hacks. For those of you who doubt me they literally advertise that they are selling the cheats at the end of the match.

Nothing will kill this game faster than it just being infested with cheaters.

I know its a tough problem to solve, but these kinds of high skill ceiling games will always attract brazen cheating. Maybe even autobanning people advertising cheats...? Who knows, please share your experiences if you are seeing cheats as well.

Console Players

No idea how big the play base for the console is. But my request would be to keep the 'crossplay' on if you guys really want to see this game to thrive. I have rarely seen any console guys in my lobby after the PS5 release. It is very painful to see the pc player base is shrinking day by day. And if it keeps on continuing, I don't think Empulse is going to survive for very long.

Free to play

In my opinion 1047 should try some free to play elements which will boost the player count.

Keeping multiplayer as premium, they can probably add Empulse Arena Royale as a free to play experience.

Xbox - empulse

Been enjoying playing the game but there’s some issues that genuinely make me not want to play the game, I don’t like the fact snipers aren’t 1 shot kills but shotguns are even at close range I’ve been getting hit markers and the fact that you can input a keyboard and mouse into your console and play normally is a massive turn off, really need to sort at least the kbm issue cos it’s massive disadvantage to us console players

Opus and Requiem Need a Buff

Most guns in this game feel increible to play and very powerful like the Echo Coda Percussion and Triad. Please dont change that strong guns are very fun. But in comparasin Opus and Requiem just are way to bad and its so easyly fixable make Requiem one shot and make Opus 2 shot on body. This whould bring them in line with the other weapons and whould make for some very satisfying skill expression

My thoughts on the Requiem sniper after getting gold.

I just unlocked the Gold Camo for the Requiem sniper rifle (250 kills / 150 headshots). After grinding this weapon to maximum proficiency during this launch window, and putting probably about 20 hours on it- it is completely obvious that the Requiem is structurally broken for a high-speed movement shooter.

Right now, this gun completely punishes high-level skill instead of rewarding it. Here is the mechanical breakdown of why the gun feels like hard mode, and how the devs need to fix it.

  1. The Core Mechanical Flaws

Forced De-scoping on Bolt Action: You cannot remain in Aim-Down-Sights (ADS) while drawing the bolt back. In any FPS shooter game where players are wall-running, jetpacking, and flying across the map, forcing a sniper to break visual tracking to watch a bolt animation is a death sentence.

The "Hitmarker Penalty" Because the weapon lacks a one-shot body kill and you have no secondary weapon backup, landing a shot at close-to-mid range actively rewards your opponent, so your cooked. The slow chamber speed means they can melt you with an AR or Carbine before you can even think about a second shot. You are effectively penalized for hitting your target.

Arbitrary Hip-Fire Bloom: The Requiem is the only gun in the game saddled with random hip-fire spread. Even classic arena snipers (like in the original Splitgate) fired perfectly down the center crosshair. Adding bloom to a high-penalty weapon makes close-quarters defense rely on pure RNG luck rather than reflex.

  1. The Copy-and-Paste Perk Problem

The attachment and perk ecosystem for this gun feels completely afterthought. It’s obvious the devs just copy-and-pasted perks from automatic weapons without thinking about a precision rifle, but I do understand this is an early access and there’s still more to come.

The Only Viable Perks:

The only two things worth running are Inflict (delaying enemy health regen so a teammate can clean up your hitmarker, or so you can hit them with a paint bomb) and Quick Reload because of how often you're forced to cycle mags.

Everything Else is Useless:

The rest of the attachment pool does essentially nothing to fix the gun's actual issues—sluggish handling, terrible ADS tracking, and non-existent close-quarters viability.

  1. The Counter-Argument: Why One-Shot Body Kills Won't Break the Game

People are historically traumatized by old-school Call of Duty quick-scoping, so modern devs overcorrect out of sheer panic. They balance the weapon in a vacuum instead of looking at the actual movement speed of the game.

In Empulse, the insane movement speed is the balance. Landing a shot on a flying target is already an immense skill check. Making the upper chest a one-shot kill would not break the meta—90% of the player base still wouldn't have the twitch reflexes to pull it off. Look at the Kraber from Titanfall 2. It was highly punishing but incredibly rewarding. Right now, if you see someone running a sniper in this game, they are almost always bottom-fragging or switching off it immediately because the risk-to-reward ratio is entirely broken.

  1. The Solution

If the devs want the Requiem to actually be a viable, high-skill aggressive weapon rather than a total throw-pick, they can think about these changes:

  1. Remove Forced De-scoping:Allow players to hold their scope and track targets while cycling the bolt.

Or make it a perk. I would also recommend another perk for the sniper something such as (faster, chamber speed.)

  1. Remove Hip-Fire Bloom: Make the un-scoped crosshair 100% accurate down the barrel for high-skill defensive no-scopes. Now this might make the weapon too overpowered, therefore just reducing the bloom could work as well which I think they’re doing in the next update along with faster ADS.

  2. Adjust the Damage/Handling Balance: Either give us a one-shot kill to the upper torso to compensate for having no secondary, or drastically speed up the base handling and ADS time so a two-shot kill is very difficult to do before getting beamed.

Mech Analysis

The game has been good so far, the mechs are okay but what I’ve realized is the shield bubble. When getting shot at in a high pressure situation, its hard to see through the bubble and where shots are coming from because of the strong orange color. Maybe if it was a light color or transparent or a little blue, itll be easier to see through. What do you guys think.

EMPULSE’s art direction is incredible, but the PS Plus requirement is a massive hurdle for console players.

Hey everyone,

First off, massive kudos to 1047 for the art direction in EMPULSE. That gritty, mature, post-apocalyptic vibe is exactly what the game needed. It honestly reminds me of the shift from SG2 to Arena Reloaded, they completely nailed the atmosphere. I put 282 hours into Splitgate AR, and I've already clocked 16 hours in EMPULSE since the PS5 launch, so I’m genuinely hooked on the core gameplay loop.

However, as a console player, I really need to bring up a major hurdle: the mandatory PS Plus subscription.

Since EMPULSE is a premium title ($15) and not F2P, console players are hit with a double paywall. I love this studio and want the game to succeed, but maintaining a monthly subscription just to play one game isn't financially sustainable for everyone right now. It really hurts the accessibility that made 1047's previous games so great to jump into.

Are other console players in the same boat? Do you think this paywall will hurt the console player base long-term?

Sweet spot controller settings

Just wanted to share my controller settings to help those who might feel that things are a little off. This was made during SG2/AR play from experience, along with suggestions made by others at the time. After 8 hours in Empulse on PS5/dualsense and a bit of tweaking, this feels great to me. I highlighted what are in my option a couple of the most important tweaks/improvements to make. I hope this helps others find a setup that works for them! Feel free to share your own binds and sensitivities - I like experimenting and hearing about others play styles

Abstract Expressionist trophy

I'm currently trying to platinum this game, and right now I'm working on the Abstract Expressionist trophy.

The problem is that my stats say I have 140 P.A.I.N.T. kills, but the leaderboard only shows 125 P.A.I.N.T. kills.

From what I understand, you have to earn the Fresh Coat medal by killing an enemy that's affected by your P.A.I.N.T. Is that correct?

I'm wondering if this trophy is bugged, because on PlayStation it says only 0.4% of players have earned it. Has anyone else had this issue, or is there something I'm missing?

Until there are better counter measures to mechs I don't think they should be in ranked

Outside of throwing away multiple lives trying to get close to them and swinging at them with a hammer there just isn't enough counter play.

And if the other team manages to control both mechs? That's basically gg.

Suggestion for mechs to be able to throw teamates.

I think itd be a fun gimmick if a lancer and a mech could interact at the same time with eachother to initiate an animation where the mech launches the lancer at max speed. Kinda like the teamup with hulk and wolverine in marvel rivals. Obviously the mechs would need arms or something to launch someone.

To compliment this mechanic i think the hammer should do significantly more damage to mechs depending on how fast your going when you hit them.

Well, I tried the game, it feels good but Im on edge if I refund it

Honestly, movement feels good, I like grapple and shooting, it feels fun to play, felt like I could play more, I didnt get bored of it. Its definetly better than Splitgate was. Compared to Splitgate, its more casual and more fun, you dont need to be pro on this game to play it, if you know what I mean.

But there is this one issue.

Will this game have the playerbase it needs? If it doesnt attract players, it will be dead sooner or later. Peak 2800 players on Steam doesnt look too good. I dont want to use my money on a game, if it will be abandoned. Thats why I am not sure, should I refund it or not.
